She's like Maria, not playing. Then Vaidisova got beat last night by Peer. If Ivonovic loses now to Venus, all my favorite girls are out, and early too. This stinks. By the way, what the fuck is up with stupid Bondy? All he does is rip Maria cause he's not a fan of baseline players, so he rips her about being a walking billboard and having a limited skillset? This mother fucker knows dog shit about tennis, if he followed it he would know more about Maria's year so far and not just make wild accusations cause he's not a fan of her style. Biased fucking journalism. She's been injured practically all year and only played 1 hard court tournament before the open. She missed a bunch of time cause of the shoulder right before the french and lost in the semis. Wimbledon was bad and the Aussie she got into the final. Won another after that, made the next final, then got hurt till Wimbledon and the French. Does that cockstain Bondy even follow tennis, or is he the kind of guy who hates pretty girls cause he never could get them? Maybe he just loves cock. He stinks and I don't like him.

First slam of the year is back. I couldn't get any enjoyment last night seeing Maria win. The timing is brutal, Starts at 8 our time(11 in the morning there), goes untill play ends then comes back for the night matches at 330. If matches go long, which they do in the early rounds, its almost 10 hours of tennis. Hopefully Maria goes far so I can get over the boys, but that won't happen for at least a week so she better fucking win. Tough draw for her, in the 2nd round she faces the returning Davenport. Meauresmo Henin, Williams, shes going to have a tough time.

Dominating performance by James Blake.
Sharpy-Lindsay is the 3:30 match tomorrow.

Fuck I'm going need stimulants to stay awake for that one. I also caught Ivanovic's match last night, she cruised. And Blake looked better than I've seen him in years. Hopefully he has a monster year and gives Fed a run for his money. And the chick whose name I forgot got injured on the new surface in the first game against Chakvedatze, just buckled her knee, so appearently it's hard to slide on this surface thus knees and ankles and stuff.
As for my girlie, she's owned Lindsay, but since they play similar games you never know in a slam. I don't know if I can handle another early round exit.

SHE WILL CRUSH YOU! What a whooping, 6-1, 6-3. Lindsay never had a chance. Still, it's only going to get tougher with the draw she has. I think Maria did a nice thing, cause she should be taking care of a 7 month old, not playing tennis, now she has more mommy time. It's a win win for all sides.

Jesus I feel asleeep in my chair watching the first set of Hewitt and Baghdatis. I wake up and the match is still on in the 5th set. Federer's match was sick, a bunch of upsets on in both draws yesterday, this has been a first good week of tennis if you're able to stay up or catch the replays.

I'm disappointed Wozniacki didn't move on.

WHOO HOO! Maria's championship match is tonight, 9:30 east against my second favorite female tennis player Ana Ivanovic. Maria's the favorite and leads the carreer series 2-1, so while she is looking good her tennis is just as good if not close to perfect as she is but she still doesn't have a freebie. It should be a really good match, hopefully it's entertaining and not a walk through like Maria's entire tournament although I wouldn't be dissapointed. So watch and be happy for me should she win as she cements her legacy which in turn gets me Grand Slam Snatch.
Oh and I just got done watching Djokovic and Federer and holy shit....fucking huge.

Well, if I may reflect quickly, I'm so fucking proud of my girl. The year she had last year, the way she finished strong in the masters, she really stepped up these past two weeks. You can say it's gay to be excited and happy for a person you never met when they do something really special, well then fuck me in the ass, to not drop a set om the way to a grand slam is fucking exciting. This is the best tennis she's played and I hope it continues all year, number 1 bound, Mrs. Cactus James, Maria Sharapova, your 2008 Aussie Womens Champ. Wonderful pics, I was thinking at least one with a trophy, but no hetero will complaim about those beauts. She fucking rules.
I forgot to mention originally, I look foward to Bondy's article saying lucky she didn't a Williams sister this, she's a walking billboard that. She kicked ass for two weeks, had tough matches since the second round with the draw she had, if that meely mouth asshole has one bad thing to say about her, he's getting a second email from me this time filled with four letter adjectives about him and his journalistic credibility. As it stands now, his credibilty is cunty, but I can come up with worse. I hate to be some gloomy and negative at a time like this, but I know he's a Maria hater, and I know he know's dick about tennis, but I swear on my mother's grave, one strip in the paper how it was a fluke, or my girl was lucky, I'm going to wish he clutches his chest in pain, makes a few noises like Don Corleone in a tomato feild, and falls face first on the ground and never moves again. 20 years old and 1 slam away from the carreer slam. Talk shit now you dick licking size queen.

BUMP!
The French Open has started, USA's own James Blake won his first round match, as did Djokovic and Ivaonovic. Andy Murray pulled out a 5 setter, Carlos Moya is out in the first round and the big upset thus far has to be Nicole Vaidasova being bounced in a very one sided victory. The womens draw is is wide open, more than usual, following the reitrement on Justine Henin, the first number one raniked woman to do so. On the Mens side, Nadal is going for his fourth Roland Garros title in a row, it seems every Grand Slam either him or Fed is making history. Look for Fed to be in the finals, as that was the final of a toruney last week, also played on Red Clay. Right now to American women ae going at it, Ashley Harkleroad and Serena. Here's hoping for a Ashley miracle.
More to come as it's only day one and still a few evening matches left.

So it's day three and due to rain, uncompleted matches were being finished up and Maria finally played her first round match, a nerve racking 3 setter she won 8-6. It's hard to tell if it's an injury that hindered her performance, or it was the long, two day layoff, or the fact she never faced this opponent before.
Ivanovic and Nadal are still to come, Ana is on now in what's being billed at the match of the day.
Also, Robbie Ginepri won, making it four men US men will in the draw.

Right, cause there are no attractive female tennis players? I honestly am curious to see how or if the WTA does anything or ackowledges anything. For such a family oriented organzation it's interesting. Then again, it's run by Billie Jean King so why would she mind?
BTW, US Open next month, I will have live reports for a few of the days, maybe some night matches and/or championship matches.

I haven't even heard or saw her name mentioned in the draw. I think the most fan fare she gets besides from her family is cause of Tom on this board.
That said, the Open has a dark cloud over it. I am not attending this year due to the absense of Mrs. Cactus James. It's sort of painful to even watch on tv. I'm not happy about this.

So, lo and behold, the player making waves over in Aussie land is Tom's favorite, Jelena Dokic. Hitting her stride again beating Ana Chakvetadze. She's the movie script story being held back by her father and fored to move to Serbia, now she's estranged from him, on her own back in Australia and it's making huge differences on her game. Day 4 started about an hour and 45 minutes ago, so she should be playing tomorrow, in blazing heat as well.

How about that Jelena Dokic. I believe I called this at some point or another.
She rolls on after beating Russkie Alisa Keybanova yesterday. Hey, James, tell me when she may be on the tube, I am having trouble figuring out the schedules I am seeing.

The problem is now that its in the second round, most matches are on 330 in the morning, the night matches down under. And last night Dokic lost in a 3 setter to Dinara Safina. Most likely the match will be on ESPN 2 sometime after noon maybe 3ish, depending on what order ESPN wants to air the matches. But she had one hell of a run, and expect to see her near the top for a while. Even though every match she played was a 3 setter and she really worked her ass off, she ran out of gas, it's hard to keep that pace and win the whole thing. But, the good news is for the first time since 02 she cracked the top 100 and expect to see her very active in between Grand Slams. Her interviews are really cool too, if a crying girl is sort of your thing. Btw Tom, those pics have to be from a while ago you posted, she's 25 now and looks way older than the pics you posted. But here's a story on her from AustalianOpen.com after last nights loss(Taken without permission):
What a difference a handful of matches make. When Jelena Dokic came to Melbourne Park a matter of days ago, she was a wildcard entry, a bit of a talking point, and a nice little story.
Just nine days later, she strode out of the complex as a member of the world's top 100, an Australian Open quarterfinalist and a player to be reckoned with. True, she had lost in that quarterfinal, going out 6-4 4-6 6-4 to Dinara Safina, but she had left her mark on the tournament and the women's tour.
Every match she has played here has been a battle, an emotional roller-coaster - and a stunning achievement. Even in defeat, she could take away the thought that she had pushed the world No. 3 for two hours and 19 minutes, and she had had her chances to win. For a woman who spent most of last year schlepping around the lower rungs of the professional tour as she tried to gather ranking points, she had proved that she was back – and back with a bang.
"There's absolutely nothing to be disappointed about," she said. "I have really fought well this week. I have no regrets. I just would like to keep it going. I really would like to keep it going. I really think I have a chance at it.
"I played well with a girl who's No. 3 in the world today. I can still really take positives out of today, even though some of the points and the shots that I played at some stages of the match were maybe not right. I just have to just keep on working hard, basically."
The advantage Dokic has over the other hopefuls pushing their way through the rankings and trying to make it to the elite level is that she has been there, done that, and seen it all. The disappointment of defeat was tempered with the excitement of what is to come. She can see the path ahead; she knows the pitfalls, but she also knows the route. The past five matches have shown her what needs to be done and how much is possible. And first things first: no more tiny tournaments – Dokic is back in the big time.
"I'm in the top 100 now," she said. "There is a possibility for me to continue doing well from here on. I can also lose some matches – it's normal. It's been a real high this week playing in front of a home crowd, so I have to see how it will go from now on.
"I think Fed Cup is also another very good possibility for me just to see, again, where I'll be in a week's time and how well I will handle the matches."
The highs and lows she has experienced in her career have taught Dokic that nothing can be taken for granted – and that life is not always rosy. Having 15,000 people cheering you to the rafters at Rod Laver Arena is a marvellous experience, but not every tournament will be like that, and not every loss will be as easy to accept.
"Even if I lose a few tournaments and I don't do as well, I don't think it's a big deal," she said. "I think I've shown that I can play with some of the best girls in the world, top 20 and top 10. You cannot play every tournament well. There's some tournaments also that sometimes you don't like playing and some surfaces don't suit you.
"Like I made it clear earlier in the week already, it was the consistency of the year. I wouldn't like to win a tournament and then lose three or four first rounds. I'd rather play semifinals every week. So just try to not have too many ups and downs and just be as consistent as possible."
It sounded like a plan, and it has been a while since Dokic has had one of them. What started as a great adventure and a chance to test herself against the best at Melbourne Park has turned into a launching pad for her assault on the world's top 50. All it took was five matches, 15 sets - and a lifetime of experience.

Its funny...when I read the headline, I knew immediatly it had to be her Dad.
Tennis Star's Dad Threatens to Blow Up Australian Embassy
The father of tennis player Jelena Dokic has been arrested in Serbia for threatening to blow up the Australian embassy in Belgrade after his daughter told an Australian magazine that he had physically abused her.
Damic Dokic was detained in Vrdnik, northwest Serbia, on Wednesday after saying that he would throw a bomb at the car of the Australian ambassador to Serbia, Clare Birgin, if the claims were not retracted — despite admitting that he had beaten his daughter.
Police were carrying out a search of his house late Wednesday night, the Interior Minister Ivica Davic said.
Dokic told Blic, a tabloid newspaper in Serbia, that he had an arsenal of weapons at his house and would only have to click his fingers to be supplied with a grenade launcher.
"I expect that after my threat the local police will react, arrest me and confiscate my weapons," he said. "But that would only increase the danger for the ambassador."
His outburst came after his 26-year-old daughter, who has Australian citizenship, and who is ranked number 71 in the world, told Sport and Style magazine that her father had abused her throughout her early days on the tennis circuit.
"I've been through a lot worse than anybody on the tour," she said. "I can say that with confidence."
After her interview, Dokic admitted that he had beaten his daughter, telling Blic: "There is no child that was not beaten by parents — same with Jelena."
He went on to tell Vecernje Novosti, another Serb newspaper: "If I was ever a little bit more aggressive towards Jelena, it was for her sake."
Jelena, who burst on to the tennis scene in 1999 at age 16, when she beat the then World No. 1 Martina Hingis at Wimbledon, has been shadowed for years by rumors of her father's abuse. Coaches and teammates told of hearing her being hit in her hotel room, and of seeing bruises on her.
She fled her family in 2002 after a tournament in Europe and has hardly spoken to her father since.

The dads nuts, no joke. He's out of his mind. Crazy fucking story.
But good news, you can see Jelena and my girl, Maria making her comeback at Roland Garros 2009. The French Open is the only Grand Slam played on clay, not a favorite of Maria. But it should be a good tourney, especially in the Womens draw. It starts the 24th, I'll have reports throughout the two weeks.

Maria and Dokic are slotted for play on Day 2. Time is TBD as the schedule for the next day doesn't come out until round 1 is completed, as is the norm for all events. However, with it being the French Open, they play in France, so the timing is way off. Coverage starts here in the US 5:30 in the morning. So day 1 is today and two is tomorrow. So unless you're nuts like me and love to drink with all tennis events, I'll be up watching. But if I pass out I'm screwed, cause I'll most likely decide not to DVR it, as it's too many hours taking up too much space.
I think I might have to switch from downers to uppers if I'm to watch my girl live. When I know the times for day 2 I'll post it and take a stab in the dark and what time the matches would start here, but with it being the first round, you can never tell when it will be a marathon match, or a ass kicking. However Maria destroyed in the Warsaw Open(also played on clay) 6 love, 6-2. So hopefully it'll will be straight sets to a Grand Slam for Maria.
