Day 2 Schedule is out. The Heckle House Girls are playing the following times:
Jelena Dokic not on the day 2 schedule and did not play today so my guess is she got pushed back to Day 3. Her opponent is Karolina Sprem.
Maria Sharapova plays the second match on court 1. There's a Men's match on before hers, hopefully it won't be long. I think she'll be on sometime between 6 and 8. And with Direct TV I have individual channels for specific courts so I'll know when she's on.
When I get more information regarding Dokic, I'll post it.

Well she lost the first set but finished strong winning the match 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 and advances to the second round to face Nadia Petrova, the 11th seed. Tough match up so early in the draw but that's what happens when you're a wild card draw as Maria is.
Dokic plays tomorrow Tom, third match on court one. There s a Men and Women's match before hers, so if I had to guess, I'd say around lunch time. Maria today had a Men's match before hers and I was at least two hours later then the time I guessed, she came on around 9ish so the match had to be some 3 1/2 - 4 hours. So with two matches before Dokic, you're looking at late morning to early afternoon for a start time.
If you have Direct TV, you may have the Tennis channel, if you do you can just tivo the court shes on as individual channels from 701- 706 or something, maybe more, just cover one court. I'll let you know tomorrow when the match is about to come on, not that it will do any good.

Dokic is on now, down 3-1 first set.
Update:
Match over, Dokic advances to round two. The final is 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Much like Maria, a shaky start turned into a dominating performance. Round one so far so good for the Heckle House girls.

Maria toughed out a 2 hour 21 minute three set battle winning 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. I was very nervous but she found her stride and got it going. She plays Na Li next. Or maybe it's Li Na, I forget, but it's the Chinese girl.
And if you get a chance to watch Nadal, e sure to go out of your way and watch. He's unbeaten in 33 matches and is just unstoppable. He's great to watch it's out of worldly to watch, it's unreal, so fun to watch. And every set and match he wins his history. Do yourself a favor and watch

Dokic retired in her match today, hurt her back, left the court with the lead, in tears. Hopefully it isn't too serious, but she could barely run so I don't expect to see her in a draw any time soon.

Unreal, Nadal s out, 3rd round upset. 31 straight matches won at Roland Garros and 32 straight sets. He also had 41 straights best-of-five set matches won on clay. And in best of five matches on, this is the first Nadal loss(four sets).
By the way he had four grand slams in a row there looking for five, which goes to show the Yanks doing it in the 40s/50s, and the Isles doing in the 80s(may they burn in hell for that), it's very impressive and a hard feat to beat.

Wimbledon Puts Tennis Babes Front and 'Centre'
Things are heating up at Wimbledon’s Centre Court, and it's not just the quality of the tennis or the soaring summer temperature.
Fans and competitors alike have noticed that a string of easy-on-the-eyes female players — less skilled and lower seeded — have been slated to play at Wimbledon’s famed Centre Court, the club's prime piece of grass. Many of the top-seeded female players have been relegated to the peripheral courts.
Wimbledon promoters lured fans to Centre Court on Friday with the so-called "Battle of the Babes" -- No. 8 seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus against 28th-seeded Romanian beauty Sorana Cirstea.
The same day, second seed Serena Williams, a two-time Wimbledon champion, played her match on the No. 2 court. The American powerhouse got lost on her way there, arriving at her match six minutes late.
Disgruntled tennis fans are suggesting that the decisions are propelled entirely by television ratings for the BBC, which is airing the prestigious tournament — charges the broadcaster reportedly denies.
“It's the Wimbledon play committee, not us who decides on the order of play. But obviously it's advantageous to us if there are good-looking women players on Centre Court,” a BBC source is quoted as saying to the Daily Mail.
“No one has heard of many of the women now, so if they are pretty it definitely gives them an edge. Our preference would always be a Brit or a babe as this always delivers high viewing figures,” the BBC source told the newspaper.
And it’s not just the fans who are picking up on the trend.
“It's weird. If you look at the schedule, it's not only about me," said fifth-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia, whose own Wimbledon run ended when she was knocked out on Court No. 1. "It's about Dinara on Court Two, Venus (Williams) on Court One. And the girls who are not very highly seeded, they play on Centre."
“A great big mixture of where the players are in the draw, who they're playing, what their ranking is,” a spokesman for the All England Club told the Daily Mail.
But they admit box office appeal is certainly considered: “It's not a coincidence that those (on Centre Court) are attractive.”

I like the story that came out the other day from Chris Evert. She said that the grunting in women's tennis has gotten out of control. I don't watch enough tennis do really know about it but I was surprised that it's so big nowadays. I remember watching Seles play and I was like, "What the hell is coming out of her mouth?" And even I tohught it was unacceptable. Imagine that everyone and their mother is doing it now. Too much to handle. Has to be stopped.

I think if it's natural it's fine, those whose force it should be stopped. The guys do it too. After every ground stroke in the 3rd set you'll her a moan or a grunt. And they aren't short ones either. But I think some girls do it just to do it, and they should be fined or something if it's deemed excessive by the chair ump.

End of June start of July means one thing. I get to use Tom's favorite word as the biggest tourney of the year is coming up and gives me plenty of excuses to use the term Wimby much to Tom's dismay.
As usual, my pick is Mrs. Cactus James, for if Maria is healthy, Sharapova's always someone to be careful of on grass. That said, with Henin and possibly Kim Clijsters healthy and playing, it might be another tough draw and field on the women's side. To hell with the Williams Sisters.
