Whatever he does... he should get x-ray glasses so he can see the STRIKE ZONE

Igawa sees the strike zone. He just can't hit it.
By the way, Larry may have challenged Tom to a side bet.

Tom is still on top with 5 playing days to go in the first session. Carl Pavano had a nice 20 point night--on Milton's bench, and Adam Dunn had one of the worst possible nights in league history, with no hits and 2 DPs. It's very rare a hitter gets -2, but Dunn did it, and was in Milton's lineup.
Knoblauch gets the booby prize so far though, for having the first first round draft pick to go on the DL this season. While Chris Carpenter recuperates, Knoblauch can at least be happy that Vlad Guererro, David Wright and Carlos Beltran, all of whom Knoblauch wisely passed up in favor of Carpenter, are ok.
Over on the good side, look out as preseason favorite Larry's team is waking up. Larry gained 20 points on Tom last night, and is 30 points behind the Sheriff, who was injured in the line of duty last week.

I have to believe that there were hitters who had worse nights than that in the history of this league. Jw

One would think so, but we're not a league that penalizes too many points. Some leagues score a strikeout as -1. We don't. The only negative points are DPs and CS. It's very rare for hitters to do worse than -2.

If not for the snow in Clv. Sheriff Tom would be hurting a lot more from having to crick his neck to look up @ the Wolfetones . Félix Hernández misses at lest a start lets say 30 pt's & Béltre misses 4 games say 12 pt's .
Just wait till my Wong wakes up & my Johnson gets hard !!!

Oh put a cork in it. I've missed Sizemore and Ichiro the past four days and a start by Sabathia.
While I was in Cleveland it was 75 degrees. That was just last week too.

Like a phoenix, Capone has risen from the ashes and the resurgent CheckCollectors have climbed to the top of the standings, thanks in part to a pitching staff that gave him a win and 2 saves last night. A week ago, it looked like Capone would be Walkman Johned, but those nonbelievers are eating some crow.
Meanwhile, Tom is rarely having the best night of the group, but since he broke his arm, his team has consistently kept that lead. We're getting to the point of the session where if Tom doesn't win, it will have to be considered a choke.
And speaking Grover, Laura is now in last place. A -3 night, combined with Knoblauch getting 55 points, sends Laura to the bottom of the pile.
Larry's team is currently in second place, of his 381.33 points, 350 of them were provided by ARod, who is on a mission to make Laura pay for being the first person since 2003 to not take him first overall.

First off, the Check Collectors have NOT "climbed to the top of the standings." THE TOP OF THE STANDINGS is spot 1. That would be me. And no, not winning the session for me would not be a "choke." I dont think you understand what a choke is. If I go into the last day with a 50 point lead and my pitching craps the bed and someone swoops by last second, THAT is a choke. Everyone around here is so eager to piss on someones parade - maybe you should give me credit for remaining consistent, and not start talking about what you would find a choke.
Choke this.

tj. this is promising to be a barn burner. i havent looked at the pitching beneath me because well, those teams are beneath me, but you have 2 starters and i have 3 starters for the rest of the week (barring rain outs, snow outs and cold outs, lol!). im a bit behind you but with an extra start i could make up some difference. i have a feeling me and you slug it out on saturday for some good old cashola!

Having a bunch of starters going is not necessarily a great thing. Someone always seems to be shelled in those instances. Its been proven time and time again in this league it does not matter.

WHAT A NIGHT BY POPS!!!!! Yoda used the force to not only beat Matsusaka and get a complete game shutout from Hernandez, but he had a 100 point night and kicked Tom to the curb.
Thanks in large part to a -12 performance from Huston Street, Tom's team lost a whopping 92 points in the standings to Pops.
Will Tom rebound tonight? Or has he seen the end of first place for the year? Tom still has 2 starters going in the session, but so does Poops.
Justin and Suzy also had rough nights, coming up with just 6 points each. Justin suddenly finds himself in last place. Will he stay there? Or will he make a similar comeback like he did in 2004, when he rose from the ashes to become the only two time champion?

Wow...it's a bit more chilly down here in the drop zone. Not sure I like it very much. We'll have to do something about that.
Funny how Tom managed to choke away the lead right after MetsSuckBalls mentioned it. Balls is like the anti-Knoblauch. Still, I'd rather be in Tom's position in the standings right now than mine. I still like my team better, and I'll finish ahead when all is said and done, but I'd rather not be in last right now. Not good for ticket sales.

what a stunning night. not only do we see tom choke away 1st place to pops, but we see the swinging dicks who are arguably the new york yankees of this fantasy league drop into last place. something just aint right here. i know the front office down there isnt shaking though. as our commissioner says, cream always rises to the top and shit always rises to the bottom.

Session 1 has just two days left and we're in a dogfight. Pops and Tom are neck and neck, and Larry is right in there. Will Tom reclaim the session which based on time up front is rightfully his? Or will Pops' 100 plus point night carry him to victory? Will Larry sneak in and take the session by a nose? Will Neil actually get points from Kei Igawa? For the answers to these and other questions, tune in this Sunday, only on HeckleHouse.com, the exclusive webiste for the Section 39 Fantasy Baseball League.

Session 1 is in the books, and the winner is none other than POPS!!!!
Suzy gave a hell of a last minute effort, scoring 81 points. Fortunately for Pops, but not for anyone else, Curt Schilling pitched a nice game and got the win. If Schilling wasn't up in the rotation, Suzy would have taken the session. It was that close.
Anyway, here are the final session 1 standings:

WRONG. Schilling got 27 points yesterday. Take those points away, and he STILL wins the session.
Good work Suzy and Pops. My own Waterloo came when Myers and Lackey got me a combined -13 points or so Friday night. That was my shot to clinch it. All in all, I am happy to be hanging in 3rd place after the first two weeks, its a nice start. But I dont like when Pops wins anything.

Wow looks like I picked up where I left off last year . Winning a season series . Id like to thank Tom for his teams nose dive at the finish line . Balls can you confirm if it was a record setting collapse for the Low Soft Ones ? I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when Tom loses big time .

Pops, shut up. Choke THIS. In no way did I choke. I simply burned through all my starters by the Tuesday in the final week, aside from 2 that lost on the Friday. By then I was comfortably behind. I was strong all session and finished 3rd. I am still there, so I am nothing if not consistent. Stop trying to fan flames when they are not there, you moron.
