Ok, now this is going to be the tricky session because it ends when I'm away for the week. At the end of this session, on Sunday May 26, the standings need to be posted right here.
I'm going to try to log in that day from Turks, but that may not be possible. So I'm definitely going to need people to step up. If no one gets me accurate standings on that day, then this session will be considered over on the last day I post the overall standings, which should be Friday morning May 25. That means that 2 days of standings will not be part of Session 4, and will carry over to Session 5.
But if someone post those standings here, or e-mails me, then nothing changes.
Anyway, Laura begins this session scoring 90 points. That's about 25 percent of what she scored in the entire session 3 two week period.
Larry, the heavy preseason favorite, may start to consider changing his team name to the Underachievers. With a -7 last night (which may be a record), he has fallen now to 4th place, and is sinking like a stone. Nice also to see Justin and Tom showing a little bit of life.
Check out Milton, the Pat Gillick of this league, moving into 3rd place.
And here are the bizarro standings:
Laura--90 Justin--74 Tom--50 Knoblauch--44 Pops--34 Capone--34 Jose--31.33 Milton--27 Suzy--25 Evan--16.33 Neil--11 Larry --(-7)

Two days into the session, most of the teams are hovering around the 50 point area. Fortunately, it's not THAT boring as Justin has jumped out to a 135.33 start over the last 2 days. Tom and Laura have also broken the 100 point barrier.
Here are the standings:
Justin--135.33 Tom--107 Laura--101 Knoblauch--70 Pops--59 Jose--51.33 Capone--51 Milton--51 Suzy--51 Neil--46 Larry--43 Evan--37.33

Also worth mentioning, the hard-luck story or the day...
Evan had 4 starters going yesterday (Smoltz, Moyer, Marquis, and Glavine). Only Smoltz took the loss, but he's also the only one who scored in the black, picking up 5 points.
Combined score for the 4 SPs: 2 points.
Ouch.
At least Kevin Millwood was on the bench. He came off the DL, garnered a -12 for 1.2 innings before leaving with a sore hammy.
ETA: And Smoltz got hurt last night too! Dislocated his pinky finger on a tag and had to come out. Wow.

Well, last night saw that of all people, Knoblauch had the highest point total. Hard to believe, but it happened. Larry, the heavy preseason favorite, had the fewest points, and once again finds himself in last in the session. He's underachieving more than the Yankees.
Justin has maintained his lead over Tom in the session. The top three in the overalls are neck and neck in Session 4 right now, a good sign for Suzy. She doesn't have to gain ground on anyone anymore. She just has to play even until October.
Of course, that's a long time away. Laura has gained about 60 points on Neil and Jose since Session 4 began, but she still trails by a large margin. I don't know if anyone was ever in last place by this much, this soon before.
Here are your standings:
Justin--176.33 Tom--148.67 Knoblauch--146 Laura--130.67 Pops--115.33 Suzy--110.67 Milton--107.33 Jose--73.67 Neil--72 Capone--70 Evan--65.33 Larry--55.67

I sure as Hell dont remember anyone getting swamped by the rest of the league so badly, this early. I dont even remember anyone having last place to themselves like this so consistently.

The above picture would be an example of what Suzy did to the rest of the league last night. After toying with the league for a few days and letting someone else lead in the session, Suzy's juggernaut pimp slapped everyone back into place with a 110 point night. She even did this with a starting pitcher getting -2. Suzy now has a very comfortable 227 point lead in the overall standings, and has a 21 point lead in the session. Obviously, with more than 1/2 of the session to go, it's not done, but clearly her bid to be the first woman to win this league (officially) is going strong. On the other end of the slap, we have Laura, who is working on being the first woman in the league to be Walkman Johned out of existence. At the pace she is going, Laura will be 700 points out of first in just six weeks. A very impressive accomplishment. Heavy preseason favorite Larry is just not getting the pitching from his team to live up to the hype. He did have a nice 39 point start from AJ Burnett on his bench last night. Tom, who finished second in 2005, is having a solid session and is threatening to return to the top 3 after a tough session 3. Pops is being fairly consistent and has a solid stronghold on second place. Milton is hanging on to third. With the rainout on Tuesday, Mike Mussina was thrown off his routine by a day. Because of that, he pitched horribly, lost and gave the Swingin' Dicks a -7 spot. This helped give Justin the day's booby prize as the lowest scorer. Here are the standings: Suzy--220.67 Tom--199.67 Knoblauch--195.67 Justin--190 Pops--171.33 Laura--159.67 Milton--145.67 Capone--116 Neil 94 Evan--92.33 Jose--90.67 Larry--83.67

im fucked too. i cant buy points, and when someone finally has a good pitching night, it ends up being the week i benched him for a 2 start pitcher. it cant get too much worse for the fuckin mouth at this point. i keep feeling like im going to turn a corner any day now, but im dropping like a boulder in a pond. this blows.....
i dont think anyone is catching suzy anymore. her team is SICK.

I think it's anyone's race for second, really. Except for maybe Laura.
But first....not catching Suzy unless she gets hit with an injury or two. And it's bad karma to hope for that, so I'm not rooting for injury. Really. I promise.

Should be interesting to see if Suzy ends up as dominating as Larry was in 2005. I'll have to do a side by side comparison, like when they compared McGwire to Maris' pace.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here, Balls. Calm down. Its friggin' May 16th. There are only, oh, I dont know, FOUR MONTHS left to play. Granted she is having a picnic in the park right now, but to start throwing up all-time accolades at this point is absolutely ridiculous.

Balls is bored. He needs something to do.
Hey, I have an idea...how about checking the rosters every day.

Of course there isnt. He is busy comparing Suzy to teams long gone by, finding out who had the highest total of triples in the month of May from 2004-2005, and posting in the American Idol thread.
Balls, stop playing games and do the job expected of you.

You'll get nothing and like it. The side by side comparisons are relevant. Plus they take 2 seconds to do, once every 2 weeks.
As for looking at the rosters--you could also try monitoring your own teams. I last checked for injuries yesterday, and all was well.

Just so you guys know. I am not comfortable up there. Four out of my five pitchers are pitching on the same day right now, which is why the 100 point nights happen. Then the day my other pitcher goes, it's either Derek Lowe or Noah Lowry.

I think you should be very comfortable. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Kick off your shoes and relax...you've got it in the bag. Don't spend it all in one place!

All right, though she didn't have a stellar night by any means, Suzy is still on top. Tom though is closing in, and poised to skip over both Evan and Milton. Milton wins the booby prize of the day, with an overall negative score. He can thank Ryan Dempster for that.
Jose had the most points of the night, but his line was unusual. Johan Santana got a loss, but 11 points. Bartolo Colon got a WIN with 11 points. Oswalt got a no decision with 14 points. Lincecum had the only typical 20 plus point win. 4 starters for Jose means the load has been shot and he needs to recharge.
Laura's team got 10 whole points last night. Way to go Laura!
Suzy--235.67 Tom--218.67 Justin--201 Pops--194.33 Jose--180.67 Knoblauch--179 Laura--169.67 Neil--158 Milton--144.33 Capone--137 Evan--129.33 Larry--91.67

At this point you have to wonder if Laura is simply going to quit by July.
I'm in ok shape. Still have 4 starters to burn, and I finally have had a nice week from them (4 wins)

Where do you have 4 starters to burn? You have Cain and Robertson left - that's it.
I have two left as well....Dice-K brings it tomorrow against the Braves, and tonight, it's WHOOOOAAAAAAA SNELLY against dormant Arizona.
Check that...it's only the first week of the session. 4 this weekend, you meant...got it.

I meant 2. Typo there. I am better off with just 2. The more starts I make, the more I get spanked. The fact Robertson has one of my 2 starts does not bode well for me. He is pitching for his High Hard One career.

Yeah, but it's only the first week of the session. So it doesn't matter how many you have tomorrow...you'll have another full rotation next week.

Jose....you do realize that your team really sucks, right? I mean, really.
And you have to be kidding me on expecting that trade to go through. You have to be crazy to think that you'll be allowed to get two starters for a part-timer.
