Being I am the one who started the first useless facts thread on the old board, I feel ok with starting up one of its ilk over here. But I also think its time to condense the idea of the facts/opinion threads into one happy mix.
I needed to start this now cause Blondie's "Rapture" is playing on JACK-FM right now, and this rap is absurdly bad. I mean, Good Christ. "The man from Mars, eating cars? Going to bars?"
How come she was never shot drive-by style for this rap styling?

Here's a couple...
Lyndon B. Johnson was the first president of the United States to wear contact lenses.
In Bavaria, beer isn't considered an alcoholic drink but rather a staple food.
The silhouette on the Major League Baseball logo is Harmon Killebrew.
Most toilets flush in E flat.

We're going to combine the facts and opinions? Fine. Then I'll add to the fact above with an opinion.
The pitch in the MLB logo is a ball.

One of the reps here just gave me a 6-pack of Stella Artois for services rendered. Should make for a relaxing train ride out of the city.

"Ironic" is the most often incorrectly used word in the English language (note, incorrect, as opposed to inappropriate)

I am in one of the best moods ever right now.....I'm writing this from work.....walking around the ESPNews room tonight I saw Tino Martinez.....I was always nervous to go up to him and introduce myself because.....well.....it's TINO!
So I grew some balls and went up to him and shook his hand and he was one of the nicest guys I met. He asked me about me working here before I could tell him about all the memories he gave me, my dad, and thousands of Yanks fans. Tino, was, is, and always will be the man.
Oh and sure enough.....he was watching the Yanks/Angels game.

I met Tino in Philly some years back when we stayed in the same hotel as the players for a weekend series. He was very approachable and seemed not to be bothered by engaging in conversation with a fan. He's definitely one of my fav's!!!!!

From all accounts Tino is a Hell of a nice guy. Makes you wonder why his St. Louis Cardinal teammates hated him so much they essentially ran him out of town.

Could be his attitude on the field. The Cards were good one year with him, and bad one year with him. Maybe his Yankee/business like approach didn't gel in the clubhouse in that second year.

Possibly. He seemed to be well liked in NY. So maybe the Cardinals were a bunch of assholes.

You already did something stupid when you picked Randy Orton to beat Hulk Hogan at Summerslam.

Yeah no shit, I had a better chance with HBK a year before and we know how that turned out. But if that rumor is true and I can prove it, I'm going to leave their knees in worse shape than Hulk Hogans.

I have reason to believe that a "restaurant" in my neighborhood is a front for a whorehouse. When I walk my dogs early in the morning (around 6:30 to 7:00), I see 2-3 scantilly clad women coming out of a cab with a guy and they enter said establishment. It's not like this restaurant is serving flap jacks or anything...I don't even think they're open for breakfast.
I actually got some dinner from that plae shortly after I moved into the neighborhood...stuff was so nasty that I couldn't eat it all and I wasn't about to give it to my dogs.

There was a place in my old neighborhood that I was positive was a front for something. It was a huge, corner location for a health-food restaurant right on 2nd Avenue (21st St.). I never, in six years, saw more than three people in the place, which always made me wonder what was going on in the basement.

There was no doubt to me that a neighborhood bodega was a front for drug funneling or some such thing. It reached a crescendo one night when I came in after a hard nights drinking and ordered a sandwich and was told they had "no bread." I mean, what kind of bodega/deli runs out of every single kind of bread?
I then snapped something to the tune of, "nice drug front you got going here" and I was sort of chased out by the counter guy, who grabbed a bat out of nowhere.

Yeah, pointing that out to the counter guy might not have been your best decision. Luckily, it was just a bat.

CHO, YOU CLICKED THE WRONG THING! ;D
I've taken many a break from booze after rough Friday nights. Sadly, they tended to last until somewhere around 9:00 Saturday night.
