James, guys like Kid cant shake that stuff. They are always in and out. The last Torch thing I heard was an AUDIO with Kid, and you could hear he was all screwed up while doing that. Either stoned or drunk, either way he sounded like a waste, and answered any questions I would have had as to why he is not working with the big 2.

Don't get me wrong James, I'm not saying a short run with the belt would be a bad idea for HBK. It wouldn't hurt, and it would shake things up. I'm just saying it's not like people were demanding HBK specifically.
I don't remember where this year's WM was. And did Cena get the half and half reaction he sometimes gets? Wasn't there a recent WM where Cena got booed like crazy and it was more than half/half? Was that this year?
HBK doesn't quite have the nostalgia thing going--at least not yet. Maybe it's because he still looks young. Maybe it's because his run at the top was not far enough in the past. He may have started out in the Hogan era, but as part of the Rockers, he wasn't much more than a midcarder.
His rise came after the Hogan era.
He doesn't have the nostalgia factor yet. He probably will someday. But not yet.
But I won't argue that a run with the belt would be a terrible failure, especially a short run.
I think Orton was the best guy to take the belt off Cena. He's one of the few that is really a good enough heel to do it well. Other than Edge, I can't think of anyone else.

You guys need to get it through your head that the WWE does NOT mind that Cena can go to certain arenas and be half-booed, and half-cheered. There is NO OTHER WRESTLER in the business right now that, while in the ring wrestling, has the crowd reacting to EVERYTHING he does. Bottom line, he outsells EVERYONE in merch - that is what is important, not the fact that some loud vocal fans in cities like New York and Philly boo the guy.
Cena was outselling DX 2 to 1 in merchandise during this last DX run. The guy is MONEY. Being booed by half the crowd is a GOOD THING and you guys are so ignorant you dont realize it. The WWE eats it up.

That doesn't mean he should have the belt at all times. Cena will do that with or without the belt.

And all my point was, if he's going to lose it to a heel, they don't want the heel to be fucking celebrated. That would look really bad and heavily effect merch sales. It's bad business to have your number one guy drop the belt and not have people upset about it. Orton would have been cheered like he was the second coming of christ if he got the strap at Summerslam, why would Vince want the casual viewer watching at home to see Cena, the most over guy in the company, be celebrated by the live crowd that he LOST? Are you of this planet Tom or did you come from Melmac too?
