Well, tonight is the night. The countdown puts this in the quarter leading to the 10 o'clock hour.
With Edge returning last night, we have some fresh air in WWE.
I am in the middle of Jericho's book right now. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoyed Mick Foley's first offering. Written in the same conversational style, and Jericho is a witty sort. Lots of chuckles abound, but there are also a lot of groaners, as Jericho himself will admit he can be a "nerd."
I wonder what they have planned for him. Last time he "debuted" on Raw, he cut a promo he wrote himself, the night before in his hotel room. Well, now WWE is pretty much scripting everything to the word. I wonder what freedom, if any, Jericho will have in his character.
He'll get a huge pop coming out, I wonder what the direction he will head into is. Will he start heeling? Play face for a while, and turn on someone? Or will he be "a good guy." In his WWE mag interview, he mentioned issues he wants to resolve with HBK and HHH, and cited a match with Undertaker as a goal of his.

Yeah hardly a surprise anymore given the fact they waited so long and my WWE Magazine arrived several days ago and he is on the cover.....Though I am happy he is coming back I really think they dropped the ball on the "shock" factor...

Eh, it works out for them. They will bump the rating tonight. Why debut someone when the curious are not tuned in?
Also, the number of fans who are avidly on wrestling sites, read WWE Magazine, or know total scuttlebutt is smaller than you think. There are actually people who have no idea what the code says.

I'm a little pissed I'll miss this, at least I got to see Edge return last night. I hope Y2J faces HBK, I thought the two matches they had were top notch. I'd also like to see Jericho Hardy, I hope they don't give that away free on Raw with zero hype down the road. It's just good that once again Raw is Jericho.

Pretty much as expected. Came out to a huge pop, which he milked for all it was worth. HHH does not even stand around posing as long. But he then went into one of his Jericho solliloquies (sp) and it was fun. Very retro, surely. He actually comes off as a little cartoonish, especially compared to the staid and solemn Orton. But I was glad to see him. Lets see where this goes from here.
I too prefer him as a heel, but the money to be made is on him as a face for now. The fans were aching to cheer him.

Yes I liked when he said he was going to save us from the boring monotone Orton...Santino provided yet another chuckle with his mocking of The King and "puppies"......

Santino is like a modern day Iron Sheik. He's going to beat Lawler like a government dog.
I liked Jericho's return too.

I like the Iron Sheik reference, but Santino's accent seems a bit forced. I don't see him as much more than a mid-carder. Sheik did have a good run back in the 80's as Heavyweight champ, and if I'm not mistaken he was a tag and IC champ as well. No way that Vince gives him the world title.

Yeah, Santino is just imitating his dad's accent or something. Sheik still talks like that today. lol

Funny thing about Santino, when he was in developmental he was playing a Russian. Not to be confused with that big lug that was shown in the crowd during WWE television, talking about how he loved WWE programming, and could beat everyone.

I don't think Sheik was IC champ, and I don't expect Santino to go much further than he is now, but you never know. It's a question of how his push goes, but I think he draws decent heat.
Who's Santino's dad?

I think he was just figuring of speeching.
Obviously, however, his name is a nod to Bob "Gorilla Monsoon" Marella.
There are no plans for Santino to enter the top echelon. He is what he is, a foil on the comic side. His ringwork is beyond bad. To discuss him and possible title runs is pointless, dumb, and out of the question.

I agree he is not good in the ring but just has the knack for drawing heat with the mic.....He is mid card levity.......

His dad is his dad, no one special, but I'm sure he got the accent from imitating his family. It comes naturally when you have foreign parents/family. He's from Canada, not straight from Italy, so his accent probably comes from living with and being around off the boat family.
And really, don't expect him to get any sort of meaningful run other than an occasional IC title.

My family is an off the boat family, and I don't talk like that...
