And Blue Lou once told Candido how ugly she was, not realizing they were married.
Now that is funny!!!

You really can't beat going to an independent wrestling show with this crowd. I believe that was the match on the roof of the Astoria Sports Complex.

So what's going to be going on with the Battle Royal Tom? Is it going to be like a Wrestlemania thing that has all of Balls favorites and no real talent, or are we looking at a decent Battle Royal? And what other matches will there be besides that and the ladder match? Since Batista will be there it's safe to say other smackdown guys will be on hand, will they be wrestling or what? I'm now a little nervous this is going to be just a show full of returns and be one giant clip show. I hope this isn't some lame nostalgia show, I would like to see some wrestling.

I really think they are going to showcase todays guys, knowing they will have a boosted rating. I think the rest of the stuff is going to simply be a backdrop. Its been teased that the Wrestlemania Main Event next year will be "hinted at" - I figure that is going to come out of the Evolution reunion. HHH vs Orton, or HHH vs Batista.
I think the Battle Royal is going to be played for laughs, personally, but I have no real info on that. They may do a lot of goofy things backstage, like everyone dancing along with Godfather and his Ho train, or Million Dollar Man throwing around his money.
There may be some clips, but I really do not think this will be a clip fest. I really have high hopes for this one.

Not the one I was at. I don't recall Blue Lou being there. That was the show Capone got tossed from. And I squeezed just about everyone into my van that night. That was interesting.

You were at the show Capone got tossed from? I'm still proud of him for that. The funniest part is that Capone interacted with several wrestlers that night and a good chunk of them are now dead.

Somebody who was there that night wrote a rollicking account of the evening. It should be over on the other board. For some reason the guy in charge of "On the Road Again" over here did not bother to move it over when we were given permission to import stuff we posted in the first place in sections we ran....

Wasn't that report written by Sarcasm? It wasn't a ROAD trip.

Eh, I am liberal with the definition of "road trip." To me a group of us that hit a spot that is not regular in the rotation is a "road trip." If nothing else, a story about all of us doing it is fine to throw in a section of such tales. I mean, for Christs sake, is Coney Island a road trip? Those tales are all on the boards.
Anyway, I cant remember the last time I so looked forward to a wrestling show.

Can't wait for this....should be great. So if you had to make a list of top 10 in terms of RAW importance, who would you go with?
Mine 1-10: Austin, hart, Rock, Michaels, Vince, HHH, Undertaker, Yokozuna, Sunny and foley

Fair enough. Sarcasm's column is still there. I'll cut and paste it tomorrow. Sadly OUR commentaries are not. Erased by that board terrorist attack.

That opening wasn't exactly This is Your Life The Rock, but it wasn't bad. And Tom was right--Sunny looks a LOT better. Not up to past standards, but a LOT better.
And if they are bringing back surprise superstars, Bastion Booger was definitely a good pick.

"it was Moolah's funeral...I was drunk..I just pushed away the cobwebs..."
Too bad this is in Bridgeport, crowd really wasn;t into that opening...they should have put this in the Manhattan Center for old times sake, or MSG or at least Philly or Boston.

I am not a wrestling fan. I think wrestling is nothing more than a homo-erotic soap opera.
I decided that I would watch toknight for two reasons:
1) It is in Crackport.
2) You guys were hyping it.
My thoughts half way through:
This is a good tv show.
The acting is horrible.
What the fuck is a Hornswoggle?
Why on earth do they cut away from the action?
Ladder match?
I'm enjoying this. I DVR'd it in case I want to see it again.

One of the guys is probably cutting a promo during the break.
Jackass, you need to know the whole story...thats Pete Gas, part of the "Mean Street Posse." You know, the "mean streets of Greenwich, CT."
They come out to intimidating ska sounding music, and dress like that. In the old days, they would do promos about running the rough streets of Greenwich, CT.

Its a fucking shame these guys are being met with dead silence by a crowd that is likely bitching they haven't seen enough divas
I know they say the audience turns over every 5 years or so, I guess this proves it.

This has been one of the best Raws ever. I agree. It's like an Old Timer's Day, only there are really cool people who are not dead.
Mr. Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Bastion Booger, Repo Man, Money Inc.--wow.

When I was a kid I went to shows at the Olympic and saw Blassie and John Tollez, but that was a looooong time ago, and I didn't pay any attention to it.
The only wrestling related scene I was at recently was when John Cena was at that Trashers game in Danbury. Capone was out on the ice with him as a participant in a singing contest. The other two numbskulls did their shit lamely (and we were heckling Cena from Section 102 mercilessly) and then Capone steps up and starts singing "If I Only Had A Brain" and at the end he pulls a full cup of beer out of his coat, pours it into his mouth and then crushed the cup on his forehead. Cena didn't know what the fuck was happening.
Funny as fuck.

I hope they show the 2 greatest moments in Raw history.
1. William Shatner kicks Lawler's and the Roadies' asses
2. MSB stands behind Vince McMahon with a sign that says TOUPEE with an arrow pointing at him.

Jackass, here's one you can make a nod to....this guy Jericho is the son of noted hockey ruffian Ted Irvine.
