Exactly. He didn't expect radio guys to stick together, and he was on some show a week or so later and the host gave him shit about that dust up with Norton.
It was pretty funny.
Didn't that Bishoff guy work for Ted Turner?

This would be a good match for a title change--especially with Dusty announcing.

Bischoff ran WCW, pretty much into the ground, under the Ted Turner umbrella, yes. He was President of Vince's competion during the vaunted "Monday Night Wars" of the 90s when Turner and Vince went head to head.
Trevor Murdoch is the "Git R Dun" guy. A hardscrabble young man.

I really enjoyed last night's show. I almost NEVER watch it live, but the writers' strike, combined with the time of year, and the interest of the show, made it happen.
The only thing missing was the clip of me and McMahon, but such is life.
Makes me think that they should do something like this once a year. A year is enough time that it doesn't get stale, and enough time to build up a longing for the past again.
I really was surprised that Sunny looked as good as she did. She's not THAT far off from her peak conditioning. It's amazing how a human being can go from one extreme to the other like that.
It was also good to see Trish and Lita again.
I was very surprised to see RVD. I thought he was simply done with the company and eventually heading to TNA. I was even more surprised they gave him a quick match.
No doubt I loved that battle royal. They did it very well. I wanted Mr. Backlund to win, but the ending they came up with made a lot of sense and it was very cool. Dibiase could stand to lose some weight though.
I thought the Hogan bit was decent, though I wondered why he wasn't wearing the red and yellow. It really looked like the Hulkster bit off more than he could chew with the Great Khali, and for awhile there, things did not look too good for Hogan. Fortunately, he is still able to channel the power of Hulkamania and was able to save the day like the true hero he is. Khali was wise not to tangle with Hulk after that.
And what's the deal with Khali's manager? He really looks like a young Eric Bischoff--if he were an Indian.
I love the idea of a WWE Old Timer's Day for one, 3 hour Raw a year. It's a LOT of fun. Plenty of these guys could still go. Some can't.
But overall, when you have Bastion Booger, Repo Man, Money Inc., Hogan, & Mr. Backlund on the same show, it is gold.

Nope. Actually, I believe that was the last-ever card at the Elks Lodge. That night we said what's up to Candido as he was hauling his gear down the street, and we saw Al Snow in the diner afterward.

As much as I love the oldtimers, once every 5 years or so is enough. The oldtimers wont pay the bills, as it were. And as much as we got a kick out of the battle royal, and even seeing a match with Marty Jannetty in it, go back and guage the crowd response. You could hear the crickets chirp.
The next time we should see most of these folks is the 20th anny show 5 years from now. WWE already does a good job of bringing oldtimers in and out in small doses (Hell, even last week the APA reunited for kicks) and that works well enough.
Perusing a heap of feedback on the show, and the agreement is just about universal, the show was fine and fun, but only as a special occassion. People dont want to see this all the time.
Also, if you do this annually, you take away the nostalgia part of it, and it becomes regular. If you see Bastion Booger every year, whats special about seeing him? I am a much more hardcore fan than you, and I dont have any interest in your idea.
Funny you mention the Runjin Singh/Bischoff connection. You're not the only one to think that. He is quite the doppleganger.
Hogan is probably looking for a Mania payoff, probably against Khali, but from all accounts he wont get it.

Once a year is not all the time. Five years is a bit too long for a wait like that. The thing is--you don't need to bring in the same old timers every year. There are so many out there that they can be cycled in.
Justin--I think that Elk's Lodge card was a different show. I'm almost positive the Hawk incident took place at a different venue. But I do remember the Elk's Lodge show when some wrestler had his jacket stolen and Candido was mad about it.

Balls, no one cares. The crowd was absolutely dead during the battle royal, to the point that they had guys flipping out of the ring in record time to get them out of there. Enough already. Some may say 5 years would be too soon to revisit this. Not everything is a Dukes of Hazzard reunion.
The Hawk incident was on the roof. Justin is telling you the Candido incident was at the Elks.

That is what an Old Timer's Battle Royal is supposed to be--quick. It's all about the introductions. I'm not really interested in seeing Paul Blair shag flies for 9 innings. But I will give him a golf clap and let him play for 2 or 3 innings. The show was a lot of fun.
Would love to see Trish and Lita come back.
Too bad Steve Blackman doesn't have a personality.

And AGAIN, the crowd sat on their hands during the "introductions." And the WWE thought so much of them that they did not bother showing half of them. Are you deaf and blind? They could care less. The current WWE audience is skewed young. They dont care about Skinner and IRS and Bastion Booger and the Million Dollar Man. This is not me arguing with you for fun, this is me stating fact.
And the WWE has NO plans to revisit anything of this sort again. This is something they paraded out for the 15 year milestone. So move on.

Oh, another thing in regards to Million Dollar Man - one wrestling columnist said he came out "looking like Burl Ives just in time for the holidays."

Nice one. He was a tad on the chunky side. It's amazing how many people get fat when they get older. The guy was a professional athlete.

Not really. If you are a large, muscular person and you stop working out like you did, the muscles deteriorate. Muscles use more calories than fat so when you lose those muscles but continue to eat the same amount of calories, you get fat. So it makes perfect sense.

And you should have waited until after the anniversary show to kill Moolah.

Exactly. The metabolism of most people slows down as they get older. I have found that a higher percentage of women prefer a larger guy in general.
Some people, however, maintain a high metabolism, to the point where they are skinny, scrawny...basically unattractive. This is the sort of condition that leads one to do things like go on week long getaways to tropical destinations with other men, or even by themselves.

Having the great genetics to maintain your weight without trying is a blessing. Surveys have found that people like that are highly intelligent, creative, have big penises, make a lot of money, and are generally happy go-lucky.
Sorry about killing Moolah. I didn't even know about the anniversary show at the time.

Yes but you can't maintain muscle through genetics. Therein lies the problem.

Strange Justin, because they are out there. It's not like I'm making it up. I do understand though that for ordinary people, metabolisms slow down. Yet if you maintain an active and healthy lifestyle, I would think controlling the weight gain should be doable.
Mr. Dibiase needs to hop on a treadmill and eat a carrot.

Not awful. Skinner looked far worse, and he LOST weight. I don't understand why they keep bringing back Skinner. If I'm not mistaken, this is not the first time he returned. Why? I don't know of anyone who ever was a fan.

Man that was a great show..........It had a lot of the unpredictablility the Old Raw used to have (like the RVD appearance)..I knew Balls would be lathered up more than he was with girls running around in bikinis at Club Med with that Battle Royal (especially when Backlund came out...the only man in gym shorts..lol)..Also I loved the Pat Patterson "gay" reference when Trips said "oh Patterson, I'm not surprised"..).....Lita and Trish still look great and they could jump right back into the regular rotation.......And anytime you can see Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz it is a good time.......Great show and it didn't disappoint..The only thing that would have beem nice was to see The Rock come off his high and mightly horse and give a little back to the vehicle that gave him his current multi-million dollar pay days (and rescued him from the CFL) and show up.....

The only thing I would have loved to see is if they brought in the kid that Dibase offered $100 bucks to if he could dribble the ball 10 times and the Million Dollar Man kicked the ball away after the ninth bounce...Also would have been nice to see Virgil with him at his side....

I don't understand why they keep bringing back Skinner.
They bring him back because he is none other than "Fabulous One" Steve Keirn who also I believe currently works back stage as a road agent these days for WWE....
