Nothing too special happoened, the fight with Tony and bobby Baccala was cool. I thought with only 8 episodes they would start off with something big. I guess the gun charges are pretty big, we'll see what happens with that.
Entourage was great. I like Carla Cugino as the new agent, she adds a contrast to Ari, but you don't really know what her intentions are. I also like the preview for next week with E's bitch calling him Vinces boy.

Im not really a Sopranos fan but this episode was pretty lame considering nothing really happen, and there is only 7 shows left, well some nobody got killed. But Some of the reviews from ppl that premiered the first two episodes said that the first started off slow and the second one had alot of action. I would love to see if they could actually close out half of the story lines that have been ignored.

Maybe it's just me. I never understand why people always poo-poo episodes of the Sopranos when there's not a lot of physical action.
For ME, the great thing about the Sopranos has always been that with it being a series as opposed to a two or three hour movie, the show has had the luxury of developing plot lines over extended periods of time...even over the course of several seasons at times. The Sopranos doesn't have to degrade into another non-stop action flick geared toward today's short attention span society. It can afford to be more intelligent than that. Maybe it’s me…maybe I’m not so much of an action-hungry guy. Most of my favorite cinematic moments have involved clever dialog – not shoot ‘em ups.
I mean, OK, there were no St. Valentine's Day massacres in last nights episode, but to say that "nothing happened???" SO MUCH happened. A plot line was introduced showing that Tony has been thinking of ditching Christopher and grooming Bobby as his eventual successor. A story-line was started about there now being more internal strife within the family between Tony-Janice-Bobby. Another plot line was introduced indicating that the Brooklyn family is back with established leadership and a grudge against Tony. We now have the new federal weapons charge hanging over Tony's head. Bobby has now reluctantly committed his first murder. A.J. is continues his ever-growing growth in to a major disappointment for Tony – that situation is surely going to come to a head this season. So much happened - it was a very good episode and really tantalized me for the rest of the season.

No, if you want to re-read my post ...I never mentioned that I was disapointed in the episode because of the lack of violence. Nor did i mention anywhere that I felt violence was a important part of the series ...I said that basically, nothing happened in this episode and basically wondering how and when they are going to close all of the open holes and story lines that they started. I basically find the show very poorly written and all over the place.

I wasn't specifically responding to your post bigal. I've heard many people, including my wife, just really downplaying last night's episode as being uneventful and boring. I don't agree with that. Now, the one criticism I do agree with is that the writing of this show has historically been quick to launch new story lines while being slow to resolve unanswered questions - we're STILL up in the air about the crazy Russian mobster Chris and Paulie chased through the snow, we've had no closure on Dr. Melfi's rape, and the same can be said for many other side plots.
But overall, I like the built up anticipation and I still think it's a great and relevant show.

They also put a seed in the back of my mind that janice might manipulate Bobby into killing Tony
There are too many story lines to tie up in 7 hours. Which would be fine, but fans who invested 10 years and months or years between new seasons get pissed when they waste an hour on a lamp, or half a season on Tony in a coma

They are veiling(sp?) a lot of stuff this season. A lot fo stuff between the cracks, as well as a set up for the rest.

I went from thinking the fight was going to be really quick -- not because I expected the women to break it up, but because I thought one of them would come to their senses -- to thinking Bobby was going out Ralphie-style.

When they were in Tony's car, and Tony pulled off that road and Bobby gave him a funny look...I thought Bobby was done for!

So did I.
But after the episdoe I remembered Bobby dropped the gun, left part of his shirt and chest hair in the guys hand, and bolted. Very sloppy. I think he gets nabbed, flips on Tony and ends with him dying in jail like just like Gotti.

He had latex gloves on....but I think you're right about the chest hair and torn shirt. Hopefully Canada isn't sophisticated enough to use DNA! HAHAAHA!!

The problem with the year long layoffs is that I barely remember the shit that happened before, but at this point, I think that this episode was actually better than all the garbage in the previous 12 episodes.
I understand that little happened, but at least it wasn't Brokeback Gangster.
Not the best episode of the series by any stretch, but solid.

It wasn't bad by any stretch. It was a major set up episode, and like balls said, solid all around. My problem is, with such the long layoffs it's good to start it off with something big. Someone doesn't need to be wacked, but something needs happen other then a fight, Bobby fucking up and then playing monopoly. Cause none of that shit will come back up till later on, give us other reasons than what they gave us to tune in next week.

Tony's reaction to the fight was pretty well done. His response was very vindictive. Making a guy kill for the first time? That was huge.

They can have separate threads. It's no big deal either way.

Yeah, can we lock this up and start seperate threads?
It's really a dick move to start a thread about 2 totally different shows, when some people might not be up to date of both of them. I really enjoyed the 1st season of Entourage, but I missed the start of the 2nd season and I dropped my OnDemand. I plan to pick it back up eventually, but I'd like to NOT read about it first.
As for the Sopranos... I really expected something to happen with Carmella getting hurt, but then again, I have often thought something on this show was foreshadowing, only to never see it go anywhere. I was also getting the vibe that something is going to happen to Janice and Bobby's baby.

Does it always habve to be about you? Holy fuck. Imagine there is a spolier warning on this whole thread. What the fuck is the big deal really? Is it too much to write a paragraph on Sopranos then another paragraph if you seen Entourage? Sorry you missed the first half of season 2, but I'm going to talk about it. Don't like it, don't read it, you self important, greedy, spolied asshole. Jesus, and people call me a fucking baby. Why the, I'm not catering shit to you. Balls, no offense, if you switch it, I'm still talking about Entourage in this thread just to piss off Laura. It's fucking ridiculous, so what there is a thread on two shows, one of which some people on here DONT EVEN WATCH. This doesn't change any viewing experience of any show, Lauras making a fuckiing thing about this cause SHE didn't watch a season.
Hey Laura, Vince fired Ari in season 2. Now you're caught up.

I really liked this episode last night, more than the first one. I was a little upset Johnny Sack dies before the final episode, but it adds to the craziness. The scene where Gerry gets wacked was nuts, I thought Syl was gone for. MVP of last night goes to Frank Vincent, Phil is the best. They set up the revenge actor nicely, Phil is a dangerous fuck now. I love his line when he's talking about his name change coming over to Ellis Island. When asked why they changed it from Leonardo to Leatardo, his answer was simply,"Cause they're stupid, that's why". It was so matter of factly, it was hysterical.
As for Entourage, it was a bland so-so episode. A nice set up episode for next weeks, which looks really good. I was suprised to see Carla Gugino not on this episode, already. But next week I predict Vince bangs her so it should be worth it to skip on her last night.

Shit - I'm racking my brain and I can't remember. We had our first Moltisanti-ism of the season last night, and it was a good one, but I just can't remember it now. And I'm not talking about the Human-itis thing...he said something else that was pretty funny.

Was it at the private screening where he says bladwin did better than Kingsly cause that was pretty funny but I forgot exactly what he said? My favorite part with Chrissy was when he told off Carm. That whole interaction was great. My only problem was the Melfi scene, bring up the rap or get her the fuck out of there, Tony can have speech with someone less annoying. And I don't know if it's Christopher McDonald in general, but his character on the show bugs me. He looks like he's up to know good, just seems a little too untrustworthy to be getting all of Chrissys inside shit like that. somethings up with him I say.

No, it wasn't the Ben Kingsley line...he had another funny one.
But one Moltisanti-ism I did remember was from the previews of the Mocumentary "The Making Of Cleaver" where Christopher says, "Danny (Baldwin) is from the streets..........of Long Island......I think."
