The weird thing is that I can relate to what Tony was saying about being relieved. Christopher WAS a drain. Even as a viewer, of this completely fictional show, as story lines progressed throughout the passed season, there was always some nagging issue with Christopher that lingered in the background...whether it was, as the viewer, empathizing for Christopher over some fucked up situation he had gotten himself into, if some bad decision Christopher had made or was about to made was going to affect the protagonist (Tony), or even from a selfish standpoint as the viewer - was that lingering annoyance that was Christopher's life going to pop up and detract from some storyline that we were enthralled with? The Christopher character, the turmoil he was always in, and his ultimate demise was brilliantly played by the writers - good episode - this was on of those times that the Sopranos writers succeeded in actually bringing the audience into the story. They did the same thing with Ralphie and Richie...the writers brought me, the viewer, to the point of wanting to pull the trigger myself on those guys.
AJ continues to disappoint. Just when I thought AJ was about to turn mobster, he goes back to his therapist crying. The AJ story is getting good.
Great episode last night.

I agree 100%, but why let Christopher even get made, if he was always so fucked up, you would think Tony would have foregone the whole process of grooming him to be his number two. That's why Tony's line to Melfi, the biggest mistake I ever made is dead and I'm fucking releived, was so great.
AJ is out of fucking control. I wanted to throw something through the tv when he said why can't we all just get along. Fucking pussy, he really pisses me off and wouldn't mind seeing him get in a car crash. Someone needs to count all the car crashes throughout the show cause there have been a shit load.

AJ is going to get popped and Tony is going to drop dead from the loss of his son.

AJ is conflicted. He's torn between being a badass because he carries the Soprano name but it's visible that he has a conscience yet he doesn't have the balls to step up and say "hey man, this shit is wrong."
I knew that Chris was going to die as a result of the accident but anticipate that it would be accelerated at the hands of Tony. We all know that Chris was a drain and was unstable.

It was a very interesting kill. I've been far more pissed at other fictional character deaths than this one, but it seemed so anti-climactic. This guy's been a staple on the show since the beginning, and he died out of nowhere. I hadn't seen any previews or read any spoilers. My first thoughts were THAT's it?
Very good episode.

I have a feeling the end on the series is going to be very anti-climactic

I honestly wasn't 100 percent convinced it wasn't all a dream until the credits rolled. They really took Christopher out like he was some sort of minor character. It was an interesting choice. Plus, he may have died anyway. That accident really fucked him up.
I'm not thrilled with the whole AJ thing. Having him become like his father is far too out of character. He can't really sell it. But then again, maybe that's part of it. He's really no more a mafia type guy than Meadow.
It's interesting seeing people in their early 20s starting to rise up. Not everyone is in their late 50s. It was also interesting that Paulie's mom died at the same time and so few people went to the funeral.
Which of Paulie's moms was it that died? It was one of those plotlines that was so last year that I don't remember it.

The nun died a few years ago, i think last season. I'm surprised you didn't remember that, it was only 3 years ago, lol.

So which Paulie relative died? The woman who raised him that he thought was his mom but really wasn't?

That's the one that died this past week after collapsing and seeing Jersey Boys. His "real" Mom, was a nun, who gave her to the woman who raised him and just died.

Kind of unclear answer there Pete. True or False--Paulie's mom--the one he thought was his mom his whole life--the one that raised him--the one he took care of--died in Sunday's episode.

Too much Sopranos talk in this thread an not enough Entourage. Perhaps we should rename the thread. I am not down with the Sopranos anymore. Too much waiting and not enough delivering. Entourage is where it's at.

Balls the one who died a few nights ago was his Aunt, the woman who raised him. The one a few years ago was his biological mom, the nun who died and told him on her deathbed it was a lie.

Kind of a shame that Paulie's "Ma's" death got overshadowed. They only mentioned it briefly and I was still thinking about Christopher and didn't bother to rewind.
I did like how Paulie's mom's funeral was overshadowed my Christopher's though. There was a point there.

even in death, chrissy beat paulie. yes, the woman that raised him that lived in the nursing home died. I blame it all on Jersey Boys.

Plus, he may have died anyway. That accident really fucked him up. Dude, at some point they said he should have lived, even with the blunt-force chest trauma from the accident with no seat belt... he only had a tension pneumothorax & even the volunteer paramedics in Jersey should be able to do a chest tube or needle thorocostomy in the field... although, bringing him to St. Clare's probably would have seriously increased his chances of dying. I know lots of people who died there.

Not SHOULD have lived, COULD have lived. As in, maybe not. He was not in good shape. Of course, we won't know, since Tony killed him.

You don't spend enough time in hospitals. A tension pneumo is no big deal, it's just a lung laceration which allows air to escape into the pleural space.
It IS pretty cool that the mentioned St. Clare's in Denville as the hospital. It is a very shitty hospital, but it is in my hometown.

That's a bad thing? They also said the air bag is known to fucking crush some ribs if not wering a seat belt. I'm with MSB, he might have lived if he wasn't wacked, it wasn't a sure thing. He was having too much trouble breathing who the fuck knows. When it first happened I said he's dead, I was suprised Tony killed him but I didn't think he was making it out of that. It's like Tony put him and Chris out of thier miseries.

Balls - why did you change your avatar to Donnie Most? Because of Family Guy?

the lady on the phone said what sounds to be like st. peters of denville. 2ndly, they were coming back from the statue of liberty, on the palisades. they wouldn't have gone near denville, so driving him there would have killed him.

Family Guy inspired me to do that, but it was time for a change anyway. Donnie Most is certainly avatar worthy.

When did they say they were driving back from the Statue of Liberty? There is NOWHERE between Jersey City and anywhere in Essex County that looks remotely like where the accident took place...

Good thing the show is FICTIONAL. Any show or m opvie can say this is New Jersey but it doesn't make it true. And I'm not even saying shit hasn't been filmed in NJ cause I know it has, but how the fuck do you know the actual road they filmed an fake accident was literally in NJ. And better yet, why the fuck does it matter? Go talk to yourself in your Soprano thread, it's been very useful this season. Leave this one alone for people who discuss worhwhile happenenings on the show, you waste of ozygen.

There are also no elevated trains in Manhattan, yet Spider-Man 2 and The Black Donnellys would have you think otherwise.

K I'm a fucking idiot I know but why are all my shows(Sopranos, Entourage, The Tudors) all postponed a week? What the fuck is going on next sunday that 3, maybe more shows have been giving a week off? Is it just to build suspense cause if so WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE 9 MONTHS BETWEEN SOPRANOS SUPPOSED TO DO?!?!?!? Assholes.

It's Memorial Day weekend, Dipshiticus. The HBO shows ALWAYS skip the first official holiday weekend of summer because most people in America go away or have BBQs and stuff...

They met Phil with the statue in the background. They could've met on Staten Island for all we know...they only say that they were in NY. Last night's episode truly sucked ass. On the one hand, I was hoping that AJ would off himself because I'm tired of his whiney-assed shit but I knew that he was going to get saved somehow.
