I'll kick this one off with just a couple of random notes.
In quite the LOL, when they were running a Bobby Roode vignette, and he was spinning a yarn about some of the people interested in "managing him" they showed still shots of Joe Torre and Pat Riley. Imagine Roode coming to the ring, led by Joe Torre. All this turned even dumber this week when Bobby Heenan, who looks like Hell and sounds even worse, made HIS play to manage Roode. Yeah, like Heenan will be back at ringside, throwing cheap shots from the apron. Sherri Martel is another one due to appear in vignettes here, with Roode, who I do like.
I have to say, one guy that I like in all facets, of all people, is Ron "The Truth" Killings. Had not seen much of him in recent years as I never put much stock in TNA, but he won back my respect with an excellent TV match with Samoa Joe a couple of weeks ago. This past week he had a strong match with Christian. He has a weird charisma, a goofy rap song that he spits rhymes on, and I enjoy when he howls, "whats up?" to the crowd during his match, and they shout back "whats up?" in unison. Too bad seconds later he always gets clocked...maybe he should not do that so often.

I've been trying very hard to get into TNA. I TIVO it every week. It sucks. I hope it gets better, and can one day compete with the WWE. I doubt it, but this business sorely needs competition. Seeing a SD guy on Monday nights just doesn't do it for me. First step for TNA, repackage JJ. Obviously they can't get rid of him, but it's time for a change. Retire the guitar, already

I may be the only Jeff Jarrett fan left. Well, not so much a fan, but he entertains me. Where all his antics and his manipulation of the belt have wrestling fans screaming, I find it kind of funny. And I like the corny old-school in him. Yeah, he's long in the tooth and needs to step aside, but it does not change the fact that I dont change the channel when he comes out....on the contrary, I pay attention. He was very good, along with Eric Young, during the whole polygraph bit. I can deal with TNA easily enough as its only the one hour per week. They do need to get things together, cause they are having a hard time keeping fans for that simple one hour.

What really annoys me about TNA are the endings. I HATE how they end the show with nothing big happening, or some announcement.

Well, I liked the ending this past week with Jarrett whipping a couple of "fans." Look, I am no Jarrett apologist, but a lot of the heat he takes - at least in terms of PERFORMANCE - is unfounded. Yeah, its bogus on so many levels that he pushes himself to the moon, but he is still damn entertaining to me.
Speaking of what entertains me, I did a flip of glee when I saw Col Parker on my TV screen. Always a fan of Tennessee Lee or Col. Robert Parker, whatever you want to call him. He looked good (aside from the old man spidery hands) and sounded bombastic. I wish he ended up the manager of Bobby Roode.
"Big Announcement" that will change the future of the company apparently coming at the PPV....my guess, and a popular one making the rounds, is the announcement of a 2nd hour.

LOL @ Col. Parker.
I hope they don't blow this 2nd hour.

IF the big news is a 2nd hour. Some cynics would say with the ratings as low as they are, that would be the worst thing they could do right now.
Another rumor making the rounds is a Bill Goldberg signing. Goldberg, as part of a contract he signed with the parent company of the network, had a promise in place to "talk with TNA." Well, we shall see where those talks went as time goes by.

PPV is this coming Sunday. And yeah, I am liking the Christian/Rhyno business.
More TNA notes coming after the announcement of Russo. Word is that Russo is NOT the big announcement this weekend, and that is something else altogether. And, on top of that, they are saying it will NOT be a letdown. Something big.
Also, you guys are going to love this.....Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell are supposed to be at this Mondays Impact tapings. This was set up before the Russo regime, and its not part of the wholesale direction changes he is already promising.

Eric young cracks me up. He's such a goof, and has tons of potential under the right booking.

From what I read, Eric Young has "blown up" sizewise in only a matter of weeks. The joke around wrestling is he took on everything that Chris Masters took off. Apparently he died his hair to call the attention away from his sudden "growth spurt."
I like him, and have noticed he is looking a bit chunkier. Another note on him - his t-shirt is the best selling shirt marketed by TNA.

LOL He gets pops from the crowd, and it's a funny gimmick walking around making goofy faces thinking you're going to get fired.
I like when something happens and he runs away swinging his arms like the Bushwackers use to. LOL!!

HOLY CRAP!!!
Jim Cornette walked out and announced that due to the fans' dedication over the years, TNA Impact goes to prime time at 9 p.m. on November 9. Cornette told Jarrett that wasn't the big announcement. Then a Kurt Angle video aired. The voiceover said: "He is the former heavyweight champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist and arguably the greatest wrestler in the industry today." Shadowy images of Angle aired, then the camera zoomed in on him and he said, "It's real. It's damn real!" He put his mouthguard and laughed as the show ended. He was not at the building, as was rumored "the big surprise" would be.

I am stunned. Although the wrestling fan in me is certainly intrigued.
As for Angle, though....from all accounts, he left WWE a mess. An accident waiting to happen. This is not good for him, or TNA, most likely. But we shall see. The schedule is a lot easier. But that all said...what was he thinking? Vince will not take this well. I understand there may be some bitterness on his part, but he left a lot of money and other perks behind. This wont go away easy, even if TNA folds next year.
I dont see why he did this, from his standpoint.

Maybe it was what we talked about but dismissed right away, with him being insulted about having to go to ECW? I'm just throwing out a reason. I can't think of a reason for this myself.
I am happy about the prime time slot though, and hopefully it will get some better ratings.

I think it was party that, although most accounts said he grew to not hate that, and took the task of "building up ECW" seriously and looked forward to it by the end. He may be personally pissed the WWE sent him out on his ass, but again, by leaving now he gave up the last 4 months of his lucrative deal, and a lot of future benefits being a "WWE Legend" can give you. Randy Savage left Vince in a lurch many years back, and where is he now?

Well, no way he was going to play his hand tonight. He is still surveying the lay of the land. But early reports I have read say he wont be an on-camera presence, although we know how that always works out...

Yeah, Cornette says he won't be hogging the camera like Vince but he seems to be on each show trying to make announcements.

I'm shocked as well, I just hope he doesn't fuck himself anymore. I will be sad though if he is never in a WWE ring again, you know Vince is pissed right now. I wonder if it will get mentioned tonight on Raw.

They should never have sent him to ECW. This guy was arguably the best wrestler today. One of the best ever. Most important is that he gets healthy.
I'm sure someday he and the WWE will be back.

Why shouldnt they have sent him to ECW? A big part of the reason is that he would be wrestling a lot less shows. His health, in case you missed the entire point of this thread, is in serious question.
One thing about the TNA deal is he will be working what, 3 or 4 days a month? They tape 3 weeks of TV at a time, and they do one PPV, and are only now experimenting with scattered house shows. The schedule MAY help. But again, he was in such poor condition... WWE wont even mention this. Some people who know Vince are already saying that he is probably smirking at this. It makes TNA look stupid, that a guy they FIRED for his problems was immediatly scooped up by the competition. Either way, trust me, Vince KNEW this was a possibility, and he still sent Angle out on his ass. That should tell you something.

That tells you they fully expect Angle to fall on his face. This is a big risk for both brands. it's a risk for WWe becaus ehe might be fine, and it's a risk for TNA because he might just continue to implode.
Either way, I can't wait.

The hits just keep on coming....along with Luger, Bagwell, and Team 3D, who are all expected at tonights TNA tapings, they are bringing in.....THE INSANE CLOWN POSSE. The Posse will have some sort of role at this next PPV, which is in their stomping grounds of Detroit.
Dont blame Russo for this. He is still in "look and learn" mode.

Shocked at the Angle announcement. I don't watch TNA as I already watch too much WWE so I probably won't see much of him...This move will bite him in the long run..Everyone needs or comes back to Vince sooner or later..LOL

Yes, but will Vince take him back, especially if he cant offer much in the ring...Vince takes some things personally, and shrugs other things off. He let some guys back with no problem, but alienated others like Savage for less. Savage is still paying for leaving Vince in a lurch years ago.

I'm not sure I mind. Towards the end of his WCW run he was working real stiff and hurting people with his elbow drop.
Although I would really mark out if he came back. What did he do to Vince back then to leave him on a lurch?

There are all kinds of nefarious rumors, including one that he banged a then underage Stephanie McMahon, but none are really substantiated. Its basically as simple as Savage leaving Vince to jump to WCW after promising he would not do so. To this day Vince still bristles at the mention of Savage, and he is one name who has never been bought back in any kind of "Legend" context.
