Again.
Well, that should last about a month, when Angle takes it away from him at the next PPV.
Reviews on last nights PPV are AWFUL, but it seems to have had an endearing train wreck quality to it. I dont know, I seem to like messy wrestling shows.

I haven't read the reviews yet. I'll go in a bit to check them out.

I haven't read the Torch staff result post, which I put more stock into than the fans point of view, but from what I've read so far, everyone just seems mad that Ex-WWE guys are winning the title.

Well, yeah, that sentiment is out there, but a lot of people dont find Christian worthy, period. He is certainly not deserving of the undefeated streak he has going....he lost his belt on a schmazz that had nothing to do with him taking the fall.
As for Angle, he's one of the guys that does not need the title to get over.

But, the title was probably promised to him in his jump. I don't mind it right now, but I agree eventually I'd like to see guys like Styles get the belt again in the future.

Scott Steiner has re-signed with TNA. He had good reviews all around for his last stint, and a lot of people actually liked Samoa Joe's brawls with him more than they did his matches with Kurt Angle. Head below for a minor spoiler on his re-introduction.....
He will end up being the "anger management coach" that Christian has been referencing.

I have a TNA question. I don't watch their show, but do they spend a good chunk of time on terrible skits that are not really that funny but try to be?

No.

Some of their skits are actually funny. Kevin Nash just got done with a series of skits that were VERY funny, and Eric Young is pretty good with his backstage skits.

The reason I was asking was because Monday's Raw implied that the Rosie/Trump debacle was a bad skit done on purpose, and I was thinking that could have been a backhanded shot at TNA. Sounds like that's not the case at all.
Holy crap that Rosie thing was terrible.

I think that's more of a case of them trying to cover it up after terrible reviews. I mean, what if everyone loved it? Would they go on with Carlito telling Vince his skits are stupid?
BTW: Expect the worst from WWE. When Trump comes on, we're going to see some terrible, terrible stuff.
I also suggest you start to DVR some TNA. There's some quality wrestling there.

Not so much the goofy costumes, but after watching for as long as I have, I've seen just about everything that can happen in a match. It's the promos and storylines that keep it going, not some jerk being put through a table or doing a headlock.
Re-reading Foley's books made me appreciate how good Raw was able to be when Russo and McMahon were a real team. The chemistry Foley had with The Rock was utterly brilliant.

You should change your outlook on wrestling to enjoy it more.
I mean, if you applied that thinking to sports, you'd never watch the Yankees again. There's some good talent over in TNA, and it's a great alternative to WWE.
Kick back and watch it when you're in the mood to watch some good action. The X-division is awesome.

The pending Trump/McMahon angle makes me wish I had that WWE 24/7, and could watch that instead

Word on the street is that McMahon is going to threaten Trump with his henchman Khali, and Trump will counter with his man, Hulk Hogan.
And this will drag out until Mania.

Which means.....
......3 months......of..........Vince/Trump.....
I mean, there isn't a better reason to watch TNA as an alternative than that one right there. three months of a 7 foot Hindu who can't be knocked down because it will take him years to get up, and Hogan who's body is beyond ravaged.

It will be worth watching that matchup anyway, cause even with practice, when its live Hogan may not be able to get Khali up, cause Khali is a lug and Hogan is that much older. Can you imagine if they flub the spot they are shooting for in front of that crowd/PPV audience? Hogan can do some serious damage to his image just for his drive to make sure he "slams a Giant in Detroit" like he did to Andre 20 years ago.

I am totally against this. But if they are going to do it, they should have had Trump be the heel.

I totally forgot that it will be in Detroit. It will still be fun to watch, but the lead up, man, that will dominate the shows.

Fans dont want to cheer Vince. And the most realistic way to get Trump on the show is to have him come in to defend himself from Vince taking potshots at him. Trump also has a show to promote, if people are lining up to boo and hiss him, it does not bode well for his show. He needs to rub of being with the hero here, if they are going to do it at all.
Either way, the angle sucks. I would rather Hogan/Khali WITHOUT Vince and Trump getting their paws all over it.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I was just thinking the only way this had any potential to not suck was if Trump was a Million Dollar man type heel. Vince could have a few guys who would be his stable of sorts, to fight Trump's. Trump could "buy" those guys out from underneath Vince. Ah, whatever, it's gonna suck pretty hard no matter what they do.
Interesting McMahon/TNA note. I just read Vince was insistent on changing Monty Brown's name because he was fearful people would Google Monty Brown, and find info on TNA. Pretty stupid, and even sad. Especially since now they won't be able to use Brown's NFL background, without explaining why his name was different then.

Actually, they can still mention his football background. They used to do it for Rock (who was shown wearing a "Johnson" jersey while being called Rocky Maivia) and also JBL, who was shown wearing a Leyfield jersey well before that name came into play. And Monte's football tenure was nothing so spectacular that it is going to set the wrestling world a'talkin.
Someone did bring up a good point about the name change though...in 3 months the name Monte Brown will probably be forgotten, and the new name wont be so clunky, and all this talk will be forgotten.
And one more thing.... Vince can trademark Marquis Cor Vair, and not Monte Brown....if Brown becomes a super-duperstar on his watch and leaves, the name he will most be known by by then (Cor Vair) - he cant use. This makes some sense to me, in that way.
I would prefer they did not change it, but I'll live. I look forward to what Marquis Cor Vair can do.

I DVR it, and end up watching over the weekend. I did read the Spoilers the morning after the tapings, though. You could be "lol-ing" at any number of things.
Sancho, if you need to see it and inexplicably did not run the DVR/TIVO/VCR, they replay on Saturday nights.
