Yeah, holy crap, the Torborg/Damon/AJ Pierzynski segment was great. Damon gave Torborg the softest chair shot ever and got in Pierzynski's face. LOL!!
Balls, please tell me you saw this?

I do, but I DVR a lot of stuff. Consider this my vignette period. I have to admit, the mere presence of Mr. Backlund puts TNA on the map.

Well if it's comedy you're looking for you missed some of the funniest Kevin Nash skits EVER over the last two months.
And Backlund has only been in about 5 seconds of airtime the past few weeks, so if you're looking for that as a reason to watch it's not a good one.

That's Mr. Backlund to you young man. 5 seconds of Mr. Backlund should inspire all the plebeians toward enlightenment.
I know a lot of TNA plays on Saturday. I'll check it out like I did last Saturday.
I like that it's only an hour too.
Samoa Joe is pretty good. Here's an example of a Samoan that actually has some talent, unlike that fat slob Umaga.

There's tons of talent on that show.
It's quality, and theres a good amount of comedy.

Who would have thought Damon was a wrestling fan? that chair Shot was wayyy soft but it was a good segment wont get me to buy their PPV though. i dod just watch most of the nash/ X divison skits, and those might be the funniest thing ive seen on a wresting show in a long time.

Sorry, I posted about this in the General Wrestling thread - looks like I'm a little late on this.
The WORST actor in the history of wrestling had to be Dennis Rodman - I saw that Rodman, Malone, DDP, Hogan match in person in San Diego - Bash At The Beach or something like that.

Who would have thought Damon was a wrestling fan?
He has appeared at ringside at Raw a few times the last few years. Seemingly whenever the WWE has swung into his town during the baseball offseason....he was just shown on Raw a few weeks ago.
OF COURSE the chairshot was weak - even Torborg has a spring training assignment in a week or so (he's the Sox strength and conditioning coach) and we cant even have Damon spraining his wrist doing something so inherently silly. But fun to watch.

LOL! This is what happens when you dont watch the show and need to catch up.
Absolutely not the heel. AJ and Torborg are the heels against Team Eckstein.

Didn't get to see much of it, but from what I saw it was stuff I've enjoyed in the past. Sure it might not sway you, but they have fans like us. They are looking for marks.

TNA Impact took a big hit in the ratings this week, drawing a 0.59 rating Thursday, down a whopping 40% from their average. This, of course, was due to Raw going head to head. Personally I dont think its as much a big deal as many are making it to be, as TNA offers up a replay on Saturday nights, so people can watch Raw first run, and watch the TNA replay (if it was not TIVOd) - also, when TNA started, Raw was already on for an hour, so people who were choosing would have had to leave Raw halfway in to start watching TNA.
I chose to watch Raw from the beginning, and DVRd TNA. But it is sobering that so many people "abandoned ship" from their normal Thursday viewing, just cause Raw was on.

I wonder if the casual TNA fan watched RAW instead. You knew no new angles were going to be started and you weren't going to miss anything you haven't seen already, so I saw no point in any longtime TNA fan to watch it.

Well, TNA was coming off a PPV. Yeah, news is out there online and such, but usually after a PPV you get a boost from people tuning in to see what the Hell went down. On this show alone they started a fight for the next challenger for Christians title, furthered the LAX/Team 3D angle, took the next step in the Eric Young/Roode saga, and more.

Just caught Steiner on TNA from last week blabbing about how he's beat John Cena, Batista, and HHH.
1. Way to make your fed look like the minor leagues.
2. Did he ever beat any of those 3? I don't remember him ever beating HHH, or even wrestling the other 2. Or even being in the company at the same time as cena and Batista

Snarky thing about what Pump did is that the majority of fans wont call him out on it, or know to do so. In wrestling things are said and taken as gospel. Fans are ignorant and a lot probably thought, "wow, what a badass." Going by Obsessed with Wrestling, he was in the fed at the same time as Batista (and did cross paths) and Cena, although it does not appear he ever stepped in the ring with Cena. And, as we well know, roles were much different then regardless.
Here is a bunch of results intermixing Steiner with HHH and Batista, from the great folks at obsessedwithwrestling.com. I had forgotten most of this stuff went down. He DID beat HHH.....if you want to count DQs.
December 16, 2002 - RAW: Steiner interupts the "HHH Appreciation Ceremony" to sign a contract and challange HHH to a title match..
December 23, 2002 - RAW: Scott Steiner humiliates Triple H in an arm wrestling match..
January 6, 2003 - RAW: Triple H defeats Scott Steiner in a pose-down with the help of six bogus judges out of the crowd..
January 13, 2003 - RAW: Scott Steiner humilaites Triple H by ripping the suit right off of him leaving him half naked..
January 19, 2003 - Royal Rumble: Scott Steiner defeats Triple H by disqualification (HHH retains) when HHH uses the sledgehammer..
January 20, 2003 - RAW: Scott Steiner def Batista by DQ when Ric Flair, Randy Orton, & Triple H interfere and demolish Steiner..
January 27, 2003 - RAW: Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair & Randy Orton once again demolish Scott Steiner in an exact repeat of last week..
Febuary 3, 2003 - RAW: Scott Steiner defeats Chris Jericho in a #1 Contenders match to win a title shot at No Way Out..
Febuary 17, 2003 - RAW: Booker T & Scott Steiner defeats Triple H & Batista dispite interference from Flair & Orton..
February 23, 2002 - No Way Out: Triple H defeats Scott Steiner AGAIN to retain the World title in ANOTHER HORRIBLE match..
Febuary 24, 2003 - RAW: Scott Steiner & Booker T defeat Batista & Randy Orton..

Tonight I make my official debut as a TNA watcher. I've caught a few of the Saturday Night reruns recently. I was pleased when Mr. Backlund procured the chickenwing on that plebeian. I found that I was able to watch the show straight, including the matches. Maybe I just like the one hour format better.

No you don't. TNA has been bumped to Saturday night at 9, so that SPIKE can show an Ultimate Fighter special. This is done now and again.
Also, dont get too comfy with the "hour format." They are going to have a second hour added sooner rather than later.

Looks like I'll be watching the UFC special.

It was an honor to be regaled with the words of wisdom of Mr. Backlund. I'm fairly new to TNA, so I haven't completely followed the angle, but from what I gather, Mr. Backlund has an issue with some cruiserweight and is befriending various people who he thinks can defeat that person.
