Senshi vs Samoa Joe is JAPW's main event next Saturday in Rahway, NJ. Homicide has also been confirmed (in an SST vs BLK OUT dream match for indy fans), and Rhino should be there but has not been announced formally yet. And the Christopher Street Connection will be in attendance!

I have to admit, TNA does put out a decent product, as long as they don't sweat McMahon's balls.

Umm what does JAPW have to do with TNA? that said, show looks good. this is over at Rahway?

I figured TNA fans would be interested in that main event, and I didn't want to start a new thread. FF asked the fans if we knew of any places in NY to run and no one knew of any, but The MiC's WSU promotion found a place in Queens so hopefully FF's looking into it.

from wrestlingobserver.com...
Scott Steiner was scheduled to undergo surgery on his trachea today in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Steiner was injured yesterday in taking a kick to the throat from Apolo in a tag team match where Steiner & Robert Roode faced Jeff Jarrett & Apolo. He seemed fine after the match, but at 2 a.m., was having trouble breathing and was rushed to the hospital.
There was no estimate until after surgery is completed regarding how long Steiner would be out of action, but the preliminary word was that he's not expected back in the ring for a while.
Steiner had just started teaming with brother Rick for a few matches against Team 3-D, including at the 6/17 Slammiversary PPV.

Well, Rick Steiner was teamed with Road Warrior Animal for the PPV, and the Dudleys kept the belts.
But, at the next PPV, the current X-Division and Heavyweight champs will face the tag champs. Since Samoa Joe is the new X-Divison champ, they will most likely set up the old rivials as tag champs gag, with Angle and Joe probably defeating 3D next month. Then after that, I'm sure they will lose the straps somehow, blaming one another, and furthering that feud, which will now have championship ramifications.
And I like how TNA took a shot at the WWE by playing a segment with Jarrett talking about his wifes passing, and about a REAL tragedy.

TNA needs to ignore the WWE completely. They should just focus on their own thing. It's a solid product--much better than WCW in its day.
As for the plot, remember the stipulation of the match--whoever pins, gets the gold. So if Angle pins Devon, Angle is a tag champ. Joe is not.
Angle would get to choose a wrestler to be his partner as co-champ.
So the only way the two of them will be tag champs together would be if Angle chose Joe to be his partner (or vice versa if Joe got the pin), OR if they do some wacky ending where both Joe and Angle pin each Dudley at the same time, leaving Cornette with no choice but to make them both tag champs.

That's why Samoa Joe will win, and pick Angle as his partner. Then, little by little, things will happen to cause friction. Angle will cost Joe the X-division title, and then their arguments will cost them the tag belts, leading to a Joe/Angle match at a PPV where Joe will finally get a title reign.

They already "hate each other." It wouldn't make much sense to choose each other as partners.

PWInsider is reporting that TNA has plans to run an event in New York this September. It is believed right now that they won't be actually running a show in New York City, but that also hasn't been confirmed at the same time.

Well, if they hope to compete, they are going to have to expand the audience, and start touring to places.

I think TNA puts on a near equal product to WWE at the moment. That's more than good enough for me to watch.
Probably one of the funniest shorts I've ever seen was this weeks debate between Shelly and Sabin and Jerry Lynn and Mr. Backlund. Shelly called Lynn the lead single of Nickleback and called Backlund and ugly ginger kid, which led to them slapping the cross face chicken wing on Shelly and Sabin. I had to watch that skit twice.
T, I saw that moonsault you mentioned, and it was indeed a picture perfect one, despite the miss.

I agree 100 percent. I'm glad that I started watching TNA. It is a solid product and every bit as watchable as WWE programming.
They should just keep doing what they are doing and not worry about the WWE at all. Don't be like WCW and attack Vince. Just concentrate on the product you have, try to get the best talent you can, and provide a good alternative product.
When they do that, it's a fun watch.

By the way, this escaped mention, but despite some whining from the couch critics, I thought the Angle stuff this past week on Impact was gold. Maybe it went on a bit too much, but it was still a hoot. Angle, walking down a hall in his stupid undies and running into a female tech and snarling, "have you seen my stuff?" and his interaction with Boras had me in stitches.
Lots of people hate "funny Angle" but its a role HE loves, and excels at. I think you can be funny and still be a bad-ass. Too many people take TNA, and wrestling, too seriously. There is room for Angle's brand of madness.
Seeing him storm to the ring at the end of the show in that stupid robe Jim Cornette gave him was a visual that will stick with me. It was so absurd, I liked it.

Angle is one of the best ever. I also like that he's a heel that SOMETIMES acts like a face, like when he shook Samoa Joe's hand and JOE was the one that attacked with the cheap shot.

Last weeks episode was killer. The people who complain about that are the Ring Of honor nerds who want nothing but wrestling and the ability to talk down to other wrestling fans.
LOL! He looks at Shark Boy and goes "What are you smiling at?" and beat him up! LOLOLOL
TNA can be REALLY funny at times.

How bout when he asked Borash if he was wearing his stolen underwear, and Borash goes, "I dont wear underwear" and Angle responds, "oh, free-ballin?" and they both chuckle. And after Angle berates that chick in the hall he cracks that she has probably never seen a man in undies, and he did that funny snort while you laugh gag. Fantastic.

To this day one of the best skits I've seen in TNA was when Broash and Eric young went out to buy Young some condoms and James Storm and his entourage ran into them. Holy crap, that was one of the best skits in wrestling history. "Hey what are two fellas doing buying condoms at 4 in the mornin? It's like that huh?" LOLOOLOLOLLOLOL

Adam "Pacman" Jones has either signed or is expected to sign a short-term deal with TNA according to Hope Hines of the WTVF, Ch. 5, news in Nashville.
Hines said the signing was supposed to be kept secret until Jeff Jarrett returned on Tuesday from an international trip.
We have independently confirmed that this story is correct.
Jones was suspended by the NFL for his link to a Las Vegas shooting at a strip club over the NBA All-Star weekend that left former 1980s AWA pro wrestler Tom Urbanski, who was managing the club, paralyzed from the waist down.
The negotiations with Jones are obviously an attempt for TNA to get mainstream publicity, even if the publicity won't be good, for the company. The timing of it, with pro wrestling's public image at an all-time low, will only reinforce the current reputation.

TNA has been great the last couple of weeks. They are really hitting a stride and I hope they keep it up. I also hope Pac Man Jones won't break that stride.

He may ADD to that stride. Apparently he has his heart set on this, and wont be half-assing it. He is obviously a character, and he will also create a heap of buzz. Some internet pundits are lambasting the move, equating it to hiring the ghost of Chris Benoit, but people take things WAY too seriously. While I am not thrilled to death about this move, I am willing to give it a shot.
TNA is very close to a 2-hour slot. They are doing a lot of things, including adding people to the roster (including a former "World Champ" set to debut at the taping this week) and a womens division, which has me stoked cause I am a fan of womens wrestling (and I am talking wrestling, not slapping one another around in heels and panties)

And the influx of talent continues....look for TEST to make his appearance, as well as Matt Morgan, in the role of Jim Cornette's bodyguard. Morgan is highly regarded, as well as physically imposing. Test is, well, Test. I think Test is ripped on more than he deserves, but I'm not doing flips over the fact that he is back. What is interesting, and I guess I am playing spoiler now, is that he is in the role of face, helping take on the vaunted "Christian Coalition."

Well, you know I have always been an Albert fan. And he has really turned it up, becoming a go-to guy in Japan, having some great matches with top talent. He is a solid big-man, and I would be thrilled if he came back to these shores. While not a major fan of Test, I am interested to see him playing the good guy role, and mixing it up with Tomko, another current fave.
