It's one of those things that I would have to see to believe. I don't know anything about the lower level MMA organizations. I would assume UFC is the elite of the elite, so the level of competition would be less in EliteXC. He'd have to prove he's worthy of a shot at the UFC.
What WOULD be interesting is to see him on Ultimate Fighter.

That would be interesting, but probably won't happen.

I doubt it, though I think it would bolster that show's ratings. It would also be appropriate given Lashley's level. I don't think it would be a losing situation for UFC either, given the bolstered ratings Lashley would bring. Even if Lashley sucks, you could use him for awhile on TV, and any ratings boost he gets could also get exposure for other, better fighters.

i'm surprised Lashley left. Just another top notch guy who isn't in WWE anymore.

I mentioned on here before Lashley was fine by me. He sounded like a shrinking violet, and could not cut a promo to save his life, but he ripped in the ring. He had some very good matches this year. I liked his ECW run. I actually was not minding the idea of him coming back.

A handful of good matches if anything, his title run was weak. He got all this big exposure and couldn't string together more than a few good matches. He was a waste, his moveset was limited and Tom already mentioned his lack of skill on the mic, and that's putting it nicely. He was not an all around hand, was he fine fior mid card malarky? Sure. But him vs Cena, him vs HHH, him vs Orton, all would have been stinkers. fuck him, he was a waste, and he won't be missed. He fucking sucked, it's crazy to think otherwise, he had a golden oppritunity to do good and succeed, and his entire act was stale and lame.

And a couple of names have been slashed today, with more to come, possibly.
Dave Taylor, whose running buddy just won King of the Ring is gone. Obviously we had not seen him on TV for a while, since he was seconding Drew McIntyre in that short television run, but he was a trainer behind the scenes, and from all accounts a good hand. But he is now unemployed.
And - some of you ECW fans will hate this - Balls Mahoney has been chopped. Vince was apparently a fan, and got a kick out of him in many ways. But it did not save his job. Obviously he has not been in good job standing, as when is the last time we saw him on TV?

You had the feeling about Balls, even if Vince liked him, Balls doesn't fit Vince's version of ECW. Plus no one chants Balls when he does his punching routine. Looks like even less ECW originals will be at One Night Stand in June. Sad about Dave Taylor too, but the new King doesn't need a running buddy.
And yes Balls, WWE wished them well on their future endeavors.

I'm glad they wished him well in his future endeavors. I never watch ECW, so this is no real loss, but I didn't realize no one chanted Balls with his punching gimmick. That's like 50 percent of his act. He's best suited to independent wrestling.

The WWE announced that Torrie Wilson has finally been released. She has had major back issues - probably from laying on it too much with the bookers on top of her- so she was useless recently, and word is the "wrestling" part of her career was over. If you can call what she ever did wrestling.
She was a mainstay, around for a lot of the hoopla, but this news floats by me like a breeze. But nonetheless, why not wish her well?

I liked Torrie, she didn't add anything, but I thought she could have been useful as a backstage interviewer or even a manager again. Not like she was with Tajiri, but a serious manager. Like how it looked with her and Orton......untill he hit her with the RKO.

She was sorta wooden in her "acting" and not the best on the stick. So she would be useless as a manager. She has also been usupred in looks by much of the young crop of talent, so she was not needed, really. Also, she apparently has a lot of work done, and does not look very good on HDTV, from a few accounts. And dont forget, the same back injury that is ending her "wrestling" career would keep her from taking any bumps....or RKOs.

This one was pretty unexpected...
We have come to terms on the release of Trevor Murdoch as of today, July 03, 2008. We wish Trevor the best in all future endeavors.
Lots of people were looking forward to a fresh start for him on Smackdown . He must have pulled something on the latest tour, he just wrestled the past couple of days, doing his singing gimmick. I had read Michael Hayes had lobbied for him to be moved to Smackdown.

Braden Walker, aka Chris Harris. While this saddens me somewhat, its probably deserved. After he signed, while waiting around to be used, he blew up. Became a fat hog. Came in out of shape. This past week he looked a bit more inspired against James Curtis (an underrated talent) but still did not impress many. Harris had the size and experience to fill some sort of slot. The fact that he busted out on the C show says a lot about the impression he left. Too bad. Wonder if TNA will even take his calls now.

He's a fucking tub compared to the way he used to look. He let himself go big time and it ended up hurting his in ring ability and demeanor.

MORE WWE RELEASES - TOTAL OF 7 IN TWO DAYS By: Bob Ryder 8/8/2008 4:58:20 PM
WWE has released several more of their contracted wrestlers. In addition to Chris Harris (Braden Walker), who was released yesterday, and Shannon Moore, who we reported earlier, WWE has released Nunzio, Nick Patrick, Big Daddy V, James Curtis (Casey James), and Domino.
We broke the news earlier today that more releases were happening today and were the first to name Shannon Moore as having been released. PWInsider.com reported the additional names a short time ago in an update by Mike Johnson.
More releases may be coming.
Thanks 1wrestling.com

Wow. I haven't read this thread in awhile. That's awesome that Big Daddy V is gone. He stinks. The WWE must really hate Cherry since she was released twice.

They seemed to have gotten rid of the old lost in the shuffle lot. Thank God Colin Delaney is gone. Get the fuck off my TV with his shit.
There are not many on that list I give a toss about, aside from laughing that they got fired.

Delaney was a doof. So overdone and overexposed. Took some funny bumps, though. And my all-time Delaney markout moment was me and Midget Mike hopping up with glee at the Great American Bash when he turned on Dreamer. We were the only ones making noise.
LOL @ The Highlanders. Dana just asked me this Monday "why havent they been released?"
I wish Cherry stuck around. She had a different look, that is needed in the WWE cookie cutter womens division. TNA's strength lies in its different range of characters / looks.
LOL - storyline-wise the brother and sister of Cherry and Domino both got the boot. Guess their imaginary Mom and Dad in Parts Unknown is sad.

I was thinking the same for the Highlanders. The New Age Bushwackers never really did anything to wow me other than the ability to not claw your face off with all those thick beards. Wow those must have been itchy.
