Well this was quick...hello again and goodbye...
Friday.
A statement posted on WWE.com read: "WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Eugene as of August 14, 2009. We wish Eugene the best in all future endeavors."
Some wrestling websites had reported that Nick Dinsmore, 33, the man behind the Eugene character, was taking up a full-time job with Florida Championship Wrestling - WWE's developmental group in Tampa.
However, SunSport can confirm that Dinsmore was fully released from his contract.

Spring cleaning has begun round WWE way.
Big surprise release yesterday was 2009 Diva of the Year, Maria. Maria has a big year ahead, with Celebrity Apprentice and a musical release, but she wont be under the WWE banner.
Others going are Hurricane Helms (more trouble than he was worth), Paul Burchill (one of my favorites and known as one of the more underrated people in the business) and referee Scott Armstrong, from the famous wrestling family.

Heh, I was just laughing at Armstrong while watching Elimination Chamber, and that I forget that that's him sometimes, the same way I forgot about Teddy Long when he was a ref.

Not shocked about Maria as I had read something recently that she had other irons in the fire and life after WWE....Now I wonder what Scott Armstrong coud have done wrong...a slow 3 count?? not catch outside interference??? LOL
Hurricane I agree though I was a fan, lately he was more trouble then he was worth and Burchill was defintiely no surprise....

Speaking of no surprises, add Charlie Haas to the list. Most forgot he was still employed there.

I'd like to see both on TNA.
I always thought Haas had potential, and we all liked Burchill. I think there can be some good matches there, if they can get rid of guys like the fucking Nasty Boys.

I liked Maria, but her character ran its course.

I think the Nastys are just short term..Probably a favor to Hogan to get one last bit of cash to them.....Can't see where they can go with them after the Dudleys...

They have plenty of talent that can get over a million times more than the Nasty Boys, or any old wrestler.
I don't even care for Hall and Six, so long as they keep their bits short.

I always liked Charlie Haas. The WWE never knew how to use him, save for his run with Angle and Benjamin. I've knocked TNA for signing any and all WWE rejects, but i hope they grab Haas, which seems like a no-brainer given their focus on actual wrestling. Hell, I'd even like to see jackie back with him

Well, the Nasty Boys are gone from TNA. Appears to be a disciplanary issue, rather than moving on. I read on one site they were involved in "disturbance" at a Spike TV event with Spike execs present, and that sealed their fate.
Another name cut is Consequences Creed.

Lots of heads rolled yesterday. Seeing today is a Friday, which is normally layoff day, I imagine more are on the way today.
Gone are SHELTON BENJAMIN (after a run of a decade or so), my man Mike Knox, Kung Fu Naki (another guy around since the 90s) , Jimmy Wang Yang, Slam Master J, and divas MICKIE JAMES and Katie Lea Burchill.

Wow, Mickie James? Didn't see that, not that I care too much, but I shit they just built her feud with McCool in WM in the only Divas angle I can think of, and gone right after? Banging too many of the boys?
I'll take her in TNA though, easy. She'll do some good work with them.
I want Benjamin in TNA ASAP!!!!

Agree with Grover, Shelton and Mickie are the only two I would like to see in TNA..The rest of the list is no surprise.....
I am going on vacation for 3 weeks Monday morning, so I won't be on here much and I am going to have a hell of a lot of TIVO to watch when I get home...LOL

Holy shit, very surprising. And yeah, who doesn't want Shelton in TNA? And the Knockouts Division could really use Mickie, can't wait for the no compete to run out on them.
Sorry bout Knox Tom, he was one of the handful of bigger guys I like. I wonder if there's a chance he'll end up in TNA, he's good on the mic, a good worker. He could really play a good right hand man, bad ass enforcer/bodyguard type role. His squash matches that he wins are some of my favorite squashes I hope I can still see him work.

Thing with Mickie is apparently she was quite the pain in the ass backstage, and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. There were rumors as recently as the trip to Europe that she was a burden. And as crap as it is, there were some in charge not happy with her weight (thus the Piggy James stuff) and her look, and they think she outlived her usefulness. On top of that, she has some outside projects (including a country record coming out soon) and WWE does not like things they do not control. No talk of her in TNA yet, but TNA and the recently departed Maria have begun talks.
As to Shelton, he would be a breath of fresh air. TNA actually had some interest in Charlie Haas off and on, and some are pushing to reunite Haas and Benjamin and strengthen the TNA tag ranks. Matches between "The Worlds Greatest Tag Team" and The Motor City Machine Guns, or Generation Me, would be fun watches.
Yeah, I really liked Knox. I was dissapointed to see this past Smackdown he had put on quite a gut, not smart to let yourself go at all. But he was a big brawler, had quite a unique look, and was VERY underrated in the ring. Lots of people said that. I loved that cross-body move that he did. I dont see him going into TNA anytime soon, there is only so much talent they will bring in, but it would be a waste to see him out of the business.

Carlito was released for failing a drug test.

Well, it was not simply for failing the test. As part of the failure, there is a mandatory rehab attached. Carlito refused to do that part of things, and they let him go. He would not have lost his job if he had consented to the rehab, as per the WWE policy.
He was in the midst and on the crux of a minor push as a heel tandem with brother Primo, including rumors of a possible alignment with Ted Dibaise.

"Happy Thanksgiving -- and by the way, your fired." I would imagine that is how it went down, as WWE released six superstars on November 19, 2010. Shad Gaspard, Tiffany, Caylen Croft, Luke Gallows, Vance Archer, and Jillian Hall have all been given the boot and wished the best in their future endeavors.

"World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar MVP as of December 2, 2010. WWE wishes MVP the best in all future endeavors."
In response to this, MVP posted this on his Twitter Page (@the305mvp):
No need for alarm. I did not get fired. I asked for & received my release. I felt it was time to go international & freshen things up.
Bit of a surprise......
