From The Slammer....
According to Jim Ross, Tazz left the WWE because he's tired of the traveling and wants to be with his family. Todd Grisham takes over at the Smackdown announcer's table.

Well, all that stuff is subject to change with the draft. Josh Matthews, who had rave reviews for his announcing in the WWE Florida farm, called ECW this week with Striker. Ross is being phased into more the color guy role, as he ran side-saddle to Grisham, who took the lead.
So we'll see where this pans out after the draft. They are now predicting they may keep the 3-man booth setups we saw at Mania.

Slammer had a one liner in his weekly column today that Jeff Hardy MAY be leaving WWE again.....perhaps that is why they are giving Matt he upper hand so far in all this........

Yeah, that story hit the sheets last week. Basically his contract is up this July or August. WWE has been trying to sign him, at least for another year, but he has passed on it. He wants to pursue other interests, apparently. Others think its simply cause he wants to go back to doing drugs and not worry about testing.
Here's a release - WWE released Superstar Graham from a "Consulting" job he had - basically just a money handout. They were paying him $2000 a month, and that ends I think this month.

UMAGA!
He just started talking to. And on top of that, he was on last nights PPV card.
Hearing everything from "wellness policy" to "more to come." Vince has been on a rampage recently, it may be simply he thought the match sucked (as did most viewers apparently)

Wow, this is really turning out to be Balls' week. First Umaga goes, and now Vicki Guerrero has split ways with the fed. While many of us found her a credible heat magnet who did tremendous work, he was always down on her.
This was not a release / firing per se, but she is going on her own, to spend time with her girls. She had a nice run, sure she banked some bills. Of course they buried her on the way out, but thats the WWE way, and she was paid well for her services, so no gripe. With the Edge "divorce" Im sure she can reappear at some further point, if both sides do deem.

I was hoping that was a legit goodbye. Even if you liked her, how can you not say she's run her course?
That Edge promo was one of the funniest things I've seen in the WWE in a long time. It was so good, I'm surprised Edge didn't walk out a face.
Tom's right, it's a great week. Figuratively and literally, the WWE trimmed the fat.

Some are thinking Edge may indeed end up a face. It depends where WWE is taking the CM Punk cashing in the money in the bank thing. For anyone who missed this, Punk came in the other night and cashed in after Jeff Hardy - a nice guy from all accounts - won the belt over Edge in a spirited ladder match. A heel-ish move, but lets see where they go.

I'd love to see Edge on Raw while moving over someone from Raw to Smackdown.
You had mentioned one of the reasons Mr. Kennedy was fired was because the WWE was fed up over his injuries.
I'm guessing there's more to it, but if not, wouldn't Batista be in the same boat?

No one will be swapping shows for a while. Edge is where he is. And, actually, since I speculated about Kennedy, it came out that there was a whole heap of reasons while he was gone, not so much the injuries. In fact, he really was not injured that night. Basically people complained about his work and how sloppy he was in the ring, he had a penchant for saying the wrong things in interviews, and he just annoyed the Hell out of Vince.

No doubt--the time of year isn't right for show swapping. Plus, Smackdown would need a significant superstar to switch THERE to make up for the loss of Edge. If Edge goes face, I wonder who would be the top heel over there.

Yeah unlike Balls I am sorry to see Vickki go......SHe was great in her role and a heat magnet as Tom said....I wonder how long before Chavo unfortunately goes since he was already jobbing and his main duty was being Vickki's lackey....I hope he finds a way to hang around. As far as Umaga, once he started talking I kind of new his time was limited.
Also on ECW did you notice Kozlov grinning alot and raising his hands trying to acknowledge the crowd but the announcers didn't acknowledge it? I am thinking a face turn possibly as his last chance before he gets walking papers as well since I think his monster heel gimmick is not going anywhere........Kind of like what worked for Kalhli...

Apparently more is to come on the Vicki timing, but apparently she gave notice right around the time they started calling her a pig on TV. She may have simply said "Ive had enough" and put a stop to that. And yeah, Cap - you are not the only one thinking Chavo is not long for this world.
Umaga is claiming he quit, but word is he was released. There are rumors out there he may have been nipped with a wellness violation. Its funny to think how high profile the Vince / Trump thing was a couple of years ago, and now both main combatants in the match are out of the WWE, in Umaga and Lashley.
I heard about the Kozlov smiling thing, but have not seen ECW yet. People are trying to figure this one out. I was thinking he was smiling cause he knows - and we dont - that he made a deal with Tiffany for a title shot or some such.

Yeah, whats up with that? If its indeed the case. Maybe they are pushing the unmask angle on him, the one he fell for in WCW, and hes had enough. I saw someone speculate he is grumpy about whatever went down with Vicki, possibly. Mysterio would be a huge loss. Well, not to me, Ill live. But he's a staple there, and a moneymaker. And you can count on him for good ring action.

As reported on WWE.com on Monday, June 8, 2009, WWE Superstar Umaga (Edward Fatu) has been released from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract. However, consistent with the practice of announcing wellness policy violations, it should be noted that Umaga's termination was due to his second violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.

Apparently we will be finding out about a heap of wellness violations in the next few days. Creative was already given a list of guys to not write for, the next step is announcing the culprits.

A couple of people were jettisoned today, and they make me kinda sad for different reasons. First, Candice Michelle, who I grew to like over time. But yeah, sloppy as Hell in the ring. She was on her way back from her latest flub injury, when they showed her the door.
Sim Snuka, who has not been used in weeks, was also let go. Apparently the only thing that kept him on at all is they had him as a potential announcer in reserve, as he showed some promise in auditions, Ive read. Its what helped Striker keep his job. I didnt mind Snuka as much as many...Hell, Im one of the dopes who liked the Deuce and Domino tandem.

Wow, and did they ever make him look stupid on the way out.
They were always grumpy with him, he was apparently a regular flunker of the pot portion of the drug test, and pretty much laughed about it.

No more "Rally Up"!
Kind of figured we wouldn't be seeing much more of Mr. Ortiz after his squash on Smackdown last week.

I thought Ortiz had a good look, and a strange charisma. He also had some size. I think they could have done something with him, but the world will go on.

Tom I agree...Kind of strange since Vince usually gets behind the bigger guys (especially if they have a look). I thought they would do more with him...I was more surprised they did nothing with him more then the actual release because of the way they were using him...
