You know what was funny....when Hunter came up after making that bonehead fielding miscue, the fans gave him a rousing hand, and the announcers discussed it as the ultimate show of class. Then Hunter was called out on strikes, and as he trudged away he was booed loudly. LOL. How the worm turns.

Stick this in the Twins: I know Oakland's blown 2-0 leads before, but I just don't see it happening this time.

We'll see. It doesn't look good for them though. Oakland's pen is sick, so if they don't start hitting any starters they will be up the creek.

Amazing how many people don't get that reference. I didn't see the play yet, but I heard it was a EERILY similar situation.

Plenty of people last night didn't get that reference. I had to explain it several times.

Nice cakewalk the Mets have.

Balls, the Yankees have the same cake walk but fail to capitalize with RISP. Its a problem they have always had.
Tonight will be different. We will have the balky backed goon on the mound and we will put some runs on the board... I think they realize that the time is NOW to shut em down.

Any cakewalk the Mets have they earned. In case you forgot, they dominated their league this year.

The Four Tops will sing the national anthem and former Tiger great Al Kaline will throw out the first pitch tonight in Detroit.

That sure beats Mrs. Sheffield. If she could have finished that National Anthem quicker, they would have got the game in on Wednesday.
The Yankees do NOT have the same cakewalk. Not even close. The Tigers won 95 games this year. Every single AL team is a playoff worthy team.
The Mets did not EARN a cakewalk. They are the only team in the league that is above average, and they couldn't even win 100 games against teams that were .500.
Arguably any of the American League playoff teams would have broken the 116 game win record in the NL.
Whoever gets out of the AL into the WS will have beaten FAR superior teams than the .500 ballclubs in the NL.

Grady Little is single handily costing the Dodgers the series. He might be the worse manager of all time. Yeah know the Dodgers aren't hitting but I found myself asking myself what the fuck is Little doing more than once in the past two games. I'm going to owe 40 bucks cause of Grady Little, this man should be killed.

Well, some of those mistakes are not his fault. The SS not charging the double play ball cost them last night, and the two guys getting shot down at the plate was not his fault either. The Mets have a killer lineup, it's not easy.

James, the Mets were overwhelming favorites coming into this series, rightfully so. How is this all Grady Little's fault? Its playing out quite predictably, quite frankly.

Yeah but he takes out Koo or whatever his name is, in the 5th inning in a 1-0 game. I let him pitch to Lo Duca after intentionally walking Reyes. But then the kicker is he brings in Tomko who is fuckinh horrible, not like the have a good middle bullpen anway but still. Yeah there are a few mistakes, but mistakes they could have come back from if it wasn't for Sir Douchbag mismanaging his team.
I know the Mets got a good lineup, I know they're a real good team, but I still think the Dodgers could have been tied if not leading in the series right now.

Maybe so, but the Mets are a much better team than the Dodgers. When you're playing a better team, you've got to play mistake-free, and the Dodgers aren't doing that. Not charging that ground ball and getting the DP was a disgrace.

The Dodgers would be tied in this series if not for the Meacham/Berra tribute. But that said, the Mets SHOULD not only sweep this series, but the next one too.

I would not say that just yeat. The Pads were said to have an easy 1st round facing a cold Cards team, and look what happened? the pitching stepped up, Rolen, Edmonds, and they are getting big hits from guys like Molina and Encarnacion. They are healthy, and playing well against a team everyone said would roll them, and they did it on the road.
Don't just look at records to determine how good or bad a team is.

Grover, you know he knows nothing about any of these teams. He is a complete and utter Yankee mark. He has to go by the records...he has nothing else.

Record means nothing ones the games start. The teams that play the best in the postseason are the best teams. That's wht whole point OF the postseason.

Who woulda thought Jeff Weaver would put up a solid post-season effort?
I heard Boche on the radio this morning....I don't what the Padres line up was yesterday, but it sounded as if he stacked it with lefties. Lefties hit .350 of Weaver this year! And Weaver comes out and shuts them down - whoodathunkit.

Who would have thought Pudge Rodriguez who sucked the dick for YEARS against us with Texas during then playoffs, would carry the MArlins to a title?
It happens. Sometimes people have bad series, sometimes they play well.
