I made it clear that there was no urgency on anyones part to drop what they were doing to get this done. From my original post on the matter... You dont need to watch the movie now....tape it, DVR it, TIVO it, whatever. Maybe try to watch it in the next week or so. We can do this now and again. I don't like it. You are the ring leader here. Your instructions may apply to the humanoids, but as the leader, you need to be prepared to discuss this film immediately. Marc was ready to go. I am severely disappointed.

No Hurry gang, This movie is a like a retina burn....it ain't going away soon.
PS. Last night I dreamt that I was served a giant (as in VW beetle sized) snake head in Chinatown and it took up the entire table and Mike Domi (of all people) was dissing me for not finishing it all.

Man, I've had a nagging cough forever, and by the end of the week I discovered I had bronchitis. I fell asleep from meds Friday before I could se the DVR, and I don't see any encore versions coming up. I'll check again tonight because my Tivo did an update over the weekend.

So, I am sitting at home last night and the woman asks if and when she can delete the cinematic materpiece Boa vs. Python. As many of you are already aware of my DVR dificiencies (although we just got a HDTV and are awaiting the new HDDVR box with a100hr capacity) this is an issue. I tell her that until my 'movie club' meets I'd like to keep it. To which she replies, 'I bet they are laughing their asses off that you actually watched that piece of shit. (I actually woke up and watched it live, which is even more embarrassing) Then I had the picture of Tom giggling that he got someone to sit through that steaming pile of Bulgarian Borscht, and that this was probably a well planned attack against the number one supporter of seashell supremacy and the Salmon's upstream swimming skills. Now, if I have to come over to each and eveyone's home and force them to watch this flick by clamping their eyes open (ala Clockwork Orange,) Then by Grapthar's Hammer, it will be done. M

Fear not, friend, I am hoping to watch this as soon as the weekend, and I have coaxed a rather reluctant Dana to join me for this foray.
Oh, and regarding the DVR thing - a couple of weeks ago I was laughing about our capacities and how full or unfull our boxes were...well, back then mine was hovering around 50% capacity....now I am brushing 90%. Sigh.

Ok...let me preface this by saying....OUTSTANDING!
Nah, that is not necessarily my review, but a nod to the campy FBI agent and his penchant for saying same. The best was, after being gunned down by the sniper (who wastes his one bullet in a panic on a person) says, "Outstanding" while he is bleeding out.
Apparently we missed a lot seeing the edited TV version, from some female nudity to some bodies getting ripped in half. Also, you had to notice that in the car-clinching scene with that doomed couple, the guy was pulled out by that snake and apparently the snake continued the task of going down on her, without her noticing it was a snake.
There were some all-time classic lines in this flick, like, "go wash off, you have a piece of liver on your face" and the sheer number of instances where someone was going on about their business while not realizing a giant snake was right behind them, deciding upon when to pounce, was hilarious. One of my favorite scenes was everyone trying to warn the DJ in the club about the snake hanging around behind him, but him mistaking their gestures and pointing for dance moves, and mimicking them instead of realizing his impending doom.
Here's the deal on this movie - yeah, it was awful. That said, I was never bored. To me, thats entertainment. I only drank 2 Yeunglings during the flick, so it wasnt all the booze. Dana went in planning on watching this with me, but she dropped off within 10 minutes. She was never too excited about the idea.
Obviously the DVD cover pictured was not representative of the movie. Not only did the snakes never battle in the city streets, there were no helicopters. And they only really showed-down in the final 10 minutes.
Poking around at reviews many were glum about how "stupid" the plot was. Well, I actually thought it was pretty clever...in a stupid way.
My rating - 3 cans of Meister Brau, out of 5.
AND IF YOU MISSED THIS ONE YOU MISSED A DOOZY, AND YOU BETTER HOP ON BOARD WITH THIS, CAUSE TRUST ME I KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR US IN TERMS OF CINEMATIC PESTILANCE. I am pretty sure we will be revisiting Sci-Fi often for these sorts of gems.
Oh, and I AM getting this on DVD for keepers, no doubt.

No, you're 100 % wrong. I want to see it just for the unedited footage. I also can get it for under $3.
Oh, and I am aggravated with you. You should have seen this, considering all the crap you watch (Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, for one)

I think one of the finest moments of this film was the climactic scene when Broddick, the pseudo-bad guy - how can a man be a bad guy in a flick with 2 80 ft snakes? - is clearly heard continuing to scream despite having just been ripped into two parts and eaten by the warring snakes. The club scene at the Cobra Club is genious - Balls you couldn't find finer performances of sheer oblivion in any John Ritter vehicle. I love how the DJ does the old 'look out behind you" dance moves from the podium, that is OUTSTANDING. It never even occured to me about the helicopter, and in fact I can't recall ANY shot of a helicopter. The fact that most of the action takes place UNDERGROUND should'a tipped me off. AND come to think of it, neither of the snakes were red were they? Alas, I call it creative liberty. And we never really find out which snake dominates (I could'a written a better tagline than 'get ready to rumble') The snake that does die Boa or Python I don't remember. isn't killed by the other, he's decapitated by an oncoming Philly Subway while the other slithers into the tunnel, and presumably into sequal land. I think T's 3 Meister Brau is a bit generous though, if I were drinkin this one in, I'd give it 4 GENEE CREAM ALES OUT OF SIX on a need to drink scale. I gave it 2 WAKE 'N BAKE SPLIFFS M

Last minute, but anyone interested? Tomorrow, on ANIMAL PLANET, a movie called "Ghost Cat." 1PM. Also SUNDAY at 3PM, so you do have a couple of days to jump on board...
"A WIDOWER AND HIS TEEN DAUGHTER MOVE INTO A HOUSE THAT SEEMS TO BE HAUNTED BY THE SPIRIT OF THE PREVIOUS OWNERS CAT."
Now, couple of things to consider...its on in the afternoon. Therefore, not scary ghost. Also, its on Animal Planet....therefore, not scary ghost. This is probably a "feel-good" movie. Thus, a test. If you want BAD movies, this is probably THE worst.
All I need is one more person to jump in on this to DVR it and watch. Maybe make it a family thing.

I'm in TJ!
I am babysitting for my brother's 3 monsters on Sunday...and what make it totally appropriate is that the 7 year old is DEATHLY DEATHLY afraid of my 2 cats!! HEE HEE...I see future Shrink bills for the kid...HEE HEE.
I love exacting revenge on brother's kids for the endless abuse I got at his hands.

Hey, did you end up DVRing - or even watching this? I have it saved....should we go for it? I think tonights Lifetime offering of "The Party Never Stops" about a teenage girl who becomes involved in binge drinking looks more appealing...
I mean, we KNOW Ghost Cat will be bad, but probably for the wrong reasons. I want entertainingly bad.

I keep forgetting to mention this. I have Ghost Cat DVR'd....my nephews who are STILL afraid of Cats (wusses) laughed their asses off at this flick.
This Flick was NO BOA v PYTHON. Not even close. Good movie for Mom, Dad, and Emma. Not a good movie for the drunken Sheriff and the Bad Movie Club.

Ok, I threw the flag on that one. Kudos to you, for sticking it out, and making a family day out of it. But lets forget it ever happened, cause its time for......REIGN OF THE GARGOYLES!!
Another "Sci-Fi Original." Premieres THIS THURSDAY NIGHT! And here is your snazzy plot...
"World War II Horror Movie Where Nazis Bring Stone Gargoyles To Life To Combat US Forces."
Enough said. Gentlemen, Start your DVRS!
This Thursday, the 29th, at 9PM - Sci-Fi.

I saw a promo clip during ECW wrestling for the movie - these flying gargoyles were going at it with WWII fighter planes in a dogfight in the skies...
Must watch.

Its on my DVR too. I wont get to it until next week sometime. Can't wait, though! Oh, the movie after it also looked insanely bad. I DVRd that too, it was called "Dog Soldiers" or something - it was about some soldiers battling a platoon.......of WEREWOLVES!
Hey, 9, did you come through? What about you, Grover?

Still in the process of trying to GET a DVR from Cablevision. My roommate moved out, and the account was under her name, so they won't do squat until they get the form to switch accounts -- through REGULAR MAIL.
