So the boys lose ANOTHER station. Out of WJFK, which was a standard for them. While reading up on this one, I see its one of a bunch of stations they have lost in the last few weeks.
The bloom is off the rose. How long before they are off K-Rock?

Considering they're number one in the 18 to 45 range, not very soon. Thanks for caring though.

Nice fudging of the numbers there. They are number one in the 18-45 range MEN. There are a whole lot of 18-45 WOMEN out there too, who join a Hell a lot of others who dont listen.
The morning show is lagging overall in the market, compared to other stations. And they are paid way too much money for what they do. Talk on Sniffens board has their terrestrial gig ending sooner, rather than later.

Cause Sniffen is a douche who hates them and has been calling for their demise for almost a year now, on both FM and XM sides. It isn't going to happen. And yes you are right I forgot to put men in the numbers, however there are tons of women who listen, not as much as men but they exist. It's wishful thinking on Sniffen's part cause he knows dick and just like to say their almost done. Cause when another bum talks about fucking Condoleeza Rice and they do get booted Sniffen will take credit like he was in the know. Fuck him, I hope he gets a brain tumor the size of a bowling ball.

I think they are safe on K Rock unless the format changes simply because there is not much out there to replace them with.
The best they can hope for is the merger goes through and Stern agrees to put them on the Howard 100 channel after his show or in the PM. It would make a lot of sense actually. Don't believe this "radio war" with Howard, if they were offered that they should jump at it. And howard has a history of hating and despising DJ's and celebs one minute then announcing he never really did..such as Roseanne, Tom Arnold, Bubba, Regis, etc. Hell Stern's first book Private Parts is such a phony book now its kinda pathetic.

They are (and have been for a long time) the second funniest radio show on the air and regretfully, that's not saying much.
Radio blows. Thank you assbite people that complain about shit that they don't listen to anyway. XM 4 life.
When Mighty Horse rocks, he rock the fat ass.

Big Rumor is that ther are off KRock when their contract is up. Booker would take over that slot.

Hopefully Booker gets the band back together, if so (Danni, Nick, Brad)
I have been hearing the O&A gettin' gone rumor for a few months now, and since then I have watched them being dropped from stations all across the country.
I can speak of O&A, as I was a longtime listener who gave up on the show cause, quite frankly, they changed along the way and I am not nearly as entertained when I do listen (and i still do, here and there)
As to morning radio, I remain a Coop and Tobin guy (www.wpdh.com) - sort of amusing, without trying to be over the top.

I listened to O&A a bit this morning in the auto. Amusing dissertation on Heath Ledger. But listening just today made me realize what helped kill the show for me, and we already touched on it in here.....Jim Norton. He is the worst kind of third wheel, and he tries way too hard and misses way too often.

Interesting observation. There are definitely times when I agree with that sentiment.
My feeling is that radio has moved in a direction that makes their show irrelevant. The radio industry has migrated to this greatest common factor style of vanilla broadcasting, that any subject matter or language that might be offensive in the slightest, is not tolerated by the broadcasters, and interestingly enough is verified by the ratings.
That sucks for someone like me, but it appears to be the reality.

I agree. Norton ruined the show for me as well.

I get not everyone will love the lil fella, but fuck you guys would rather Dice still there? I gotta agre with Jackass, again I understnd someone not being a fan of the fat chinned nothing, but I think that the parameters of how to do a show changed and despte the effort on the boys behalf to adapt, they can't do the show they want. Honestly, not even to compare the different shows, but OnA wrere able to get away with a lot more on NEW than now, not matter what your take is on the quality of the show, the fact they could do and say more then is a nig indication that the problem doesn't just lie with just Op, Ant, or Jimmy.

And that's evident in the stuff they do when they are exclusively on XM. That stuff is just better. They are more relaxed.
As big of a dick as Howard is, he left terrestrial for a reason. He felt just the same as O&A do. But O&A HAD to take that slot. It was always a dream of theirs to get something like that, and so they did it.
I have XM, so I'm happy.

So Opie and Anthony are done in Boston and Cleveland, leaving K-Rock as the only CBS station they are still working for. Writing seems to be on the wall. As someone who totally was down on Jim Norton being added to the show, I find it refreshing to see him taking the blame heavy on radio boards as the main reason the show is in the dumper.
O and A are also taking heat for using Jim as a crutch, they wont even do the show as a 2-man team anymore. If Jim is out, they bring in some dick like Rich Vos or something to be "3rd mic."
I gave up on the show. This morning when I got in I was listening to Chistmas music on Lite-FM for crying out loud, and I am usually listening to Jim Kerr on Q-104 in the morn. Shame.

I know there are some Ron and Fez fans on here, anyone catch todays show? Earl actually did good radio and quit the show. For those who listen and know the show, I was wondering what others opinions are on if being a bit or for real. He did end it with a your moms box, although Ronnie tricked him into talking soon after. But he has done this before but not in the I'm just up and going way. He had some bs backup plan which he never followed up on the first time, now he's just going and doesn't know what he'll do. Maybe he'll live on that Indian Reservation he said he has heritage in. Any thoughts?

Is "Earl" the same "Black Earl" that used to hang around 102.7 with all those talk guys.
I dont get or hear Ron and Fez. And what I have heard from them, I have not really cared for. Don't like the show.
Caught a few minutes of Opie and Anthony yesterday morning, when Anthony was on his anti-Obama rant. Not surprisingly, it was my favorite O&A stuff in years.

Indeed it is Black Earl. After NEW, when Ron and Fez came back Earl was EP for them, a "gift" from Opie. Earl actually mentioned some of his favorite times on the show today as the NEW days, to which Ronnie informed him he wasn't apart of the show then. Funny. I think if you gave them more of a listen you'd like them Tom, I can't think of one person with a sense of humor who doesn't find Ronnie so funny to a point even if a person hated any of the supporting guys, they still listen to just Ron. Go over to Wackbag.com, and read the Ron Bennington Line of the Day, one of the longest going threads in message board history. It's LOL piss your pants funny.
His best line this week was yesterday going through songs used in Tarintino movies, when they got to Jungle Boogie, Ron says to Earl, "If Obama doesn't come out to this, he's out of his fucking mind".
And not for nothing, Ant is losing his mind, slowly but surely, he's growing more and more insane. But I agree, the Anti Obama stuff is great. It's part of the reason Ant's going nuts, closer and closer to Obama day. Next week should be good stuff leading up to it.

So the pretty solid word is that Opie and Anthony will be back to satellite only in the next month or so, as CBS is not picking up their option for KRock. KRock itself is rumored for a format switch, more Z100 sort of crap. Booker may very well grab hold of that morning slot O&A will lose. Sorry, folks, but losing radio is once again a crushing blow from what used to be the hottest radio tandem anywhere.

Well, to the surprise of no one, Opie and Anthony have been axed from the soon to be reformatted 92.3, and are back to satellite only, and oblivion.
92.3 flips tomorrow to "top hits" and kicks off with a 10,000 songs commercial free run. Booker will probably stick around and may very well take O&A's morning slot.
Sigh, we always hate to lose a rock preset.

Um Nick Carter is gone soon, why are they giving Booker they're slot? And if they do, Booker won't last long. The reason the boys are gone has NOTHING to do with the boys performance, the ratings jumped from a 3.9 to a 5.4.......the problem was not OnA but the 21 other hours the boys weren't on. That's why there's a format change, it's not that "Opie and Anthony brought down 92.3". What sucks about this is not that they lost the morning spot, but guys like Stern and Tom can somehow spin this to being their fault. To Howard's credit, he made so much money for them they were able to keep him around, everyone else who goes into the spot does not do good, with new technology, people don't need a radio if they have an ipod.
And let's be realistic, the boy's have been face to face with oblivion and are still doing radio for 14 years. They're going to be fine, I like this anyway, more freedom to do what they want. What's funny is they were so close to wrecking the studio yesterday, and find out last night most of the stuff was XMs, so they would have been in big shit if they fucked up the place.

Booker has held down the morning fort at a number of stations playing the poppy genre. The guy has experience working the red carpet at Fashion Shows, for crying out loud.
His style can play there. From all signs they bought him in as an anchor, most likely to take the morning show. Opie and Anthonys beer and breast talk has sailed for the station. You know what wrecked Opie and Anthony, outside of Jim Norton? Hes the biggest reason, but the other thing is moving to mornings.
In hindsight, what a disaster of a move.

You can say just the change from NEW to KROCK was fucked for them, but anyone in radio wants the morning gig in NYC, they want Stern's chair. You can't blame them for taking the job.
And again, the jump, which isn't malarky, it's public knowledge, shows that they weren't a failure in the spot, the station as a whole wasn't making money. If Howard wasn't making as much money for the company has he was, they would have axed him and changed formats. Fact is the station has failed since Stern left, and OnA did better than the talk format they tried, did better than David Lee Roth, they are NOT the reason they got fired.

Yeah 92.3 Now is great, the music is wonderful and Chunky radio rules, I'm so glad it replaced the boys, I just know ratings are going to go up for CBS now, they have their finger on the pulse......
the pulse up their fucking brown eye, stupid douche bags.
