The Pogues, Roseland Ballroom. Fucking outstanding. Much better than the last time I saw them (three years ago). Shane MacGowan was in rare form -- dropped his mic into the crowd during the first song, loudly announced "PISS BREAK!" after the fourth song, hobbled around stage like Fred Sanford. Good shiite!

I've never seen the Pogues. I wish I would have.
What I would really love is some sort of a Nipple Erectors reunion tour.

Propagandhi & Paint It Black 3/12 Highline Ballroom (NYC) It was awesome. First time seeing Propagandhi and I've been a fan for 10 years. Here's a youtube link from the next night in Brooklyn (which I didn't go to): www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBkpWNDXY3A

She seemed kinda angry, like she didn't want to be up on stage. (I've heard this is how she normally is, although the news couldn't have helped matters.)
They were fucking great irregardless.
Steve Soto's alt/country band was pretty good, too.

This is absolutely the best band ever to not quite break out of the local Orange County scene. I think the rapid popularity of Social Distortion and The Offspring really hindered these guys. I think S.D. and the Offspring probably bottlenecked the pipeline. If you like that punk-infused rockabilly/blues/rock sound (i.e. Social Distortion, Reverend Horton Heat, Supersuckers, Nashville Pussy, and more...) well, I'm here to tell you that style and that sound just doesn't get any better and any more entertaining than The Cadillac Tramps. Some of you have heard me talk of Cadillac Tramps member's other project Manic Hispanic. But I caught the tramps last night, who've been playing in one incarnation or another, since 89 or thereabouts. ]

Yeah, Cho, where you been.
My favorite cover on Garage Inc is the Mercyful Fate medley. Poor King Diamond said he made more stash from the royalties of that cover than the band had made from its nearly 10 albums combined.
