"Islanders and Rangers fans."
Not if they'd been watching Kings hockey with any regularity.

Campbell from the Sabres to the Sharks. Hockey News called that one two weeks ago. Check out Buffalo losing all their identity, apparently both parties are resigned to the fact Ryan Miller is going to be skipping town after this season as well.

So Pronger goes for 8 games for trying to stomp Ryan Kesler. Pronger is involved in too many chippy sorts of goin ons, its funny he only gets 8 and they ushered Chris Simon out for 30 for doing the same sort of thing. But Pronger has the "superstar" protection going for him.
If you have not seen Pronger's latest foible, check it out on Youtube or some such.

So its time for the hockey playoffs to kick. I am looking forward to a game that amazingly will actually be televised tonight - the Sharks and Flames tilt, at 10PM on VS. I think thats going to be a dandy series. Some very good matchups across the board. We dont have a lot of hockey banter on here, but I'll be keeping an eye.

With the exception of the Pens/Sens game, all the game were really close. Obviously yes, I enjoyed the Ranger game(1 down, 15 to go) and was almost having a heart attack for most of the third.
Habs and Bruins is of course going to be good tonight. And I think the Caps and Flyers should be a real good series too. Gotta love playoff hockey.

So I stayed up till close to 1 my time to watch the Flames and Sharks tangle. It wa funny, with about 5 minutes left they were tied, and I could sniff overtime. I was on board, but it would not do me any good, as 6AM comes way too quickly. And I dont need to tell any of you hockey fans about the overtime playoff contests of lore.
Part of me does want to hang around for 4 overtimes on a West Coast tangle. Well, Calgary scored late in that 3rd, and finished off a 4 goal run from the 3rd minute on, when they trailed 3-0, to win 4-3.

LOL @ Marty and Avery blowing each other off last night. For a while I thought the goal from behind the blue line was going to sink the Rangers like what happened to Richter years ago. Thank God Hank stopped Madden on the penalty shot. One stage complete, three more to go. Please let them face the Habs next, I want the Pens either out by round three or really tired should they make it.

Eh, Avery went to shake his hand. Brodeur ignored him, for what its worth. A lot of folks think that was lowbrow of him to do. Back in the day Billy Smith did not shake anyones hands. His thinking was, "I am not going to shake the hand of someone trying to take money out of my pocket, and food off of my table." But in this case Brodeur made a point to shake everyones hand but Averys.
At the end of the day Avery is a dick, and he hires the same sort of hookers that Spitzer does.

I believe Avery was client No. 4. And I hope he contracted an STD from one of the hookers.

Call him a dick, but if the guy is crazy enough to turn his back to his team while they're taking slapshots to fuck with the goalie, the guy deserves credit. Who else does that? I'm mean if he was on anyones team, they'll love him. As for him and Brodeur, first off Marty is too uptight. Any accidental contact and he fucking loses it. Doesn't matter if his own teammate hit someone else into him, he can't handle people bumping him. How many times the last few years have the Devils given Hank snowshowers? He doesn't start coming out of the crease to punch someone in the face. I got all the respect in the world for Marty, he's great, but he's as much a dick as Avery is, not even taking this season and series into account. And for the record, everyone sucks Marty off being the best goalie ever, it's shocking how many people forgot Patrick Roy so quickly. MARTY! MARTY! MARTY!
And as far as the hookers go, Avery banged Elisha Cuthbert for a while, doubt he needs some city or jersey skanks on the side.

James yes Avery played well and his team won but make no mistake, no one and I mean no one is as much or as big of a dick as Avery.........

Then why he did he go to shake Marty's hand? Avery didn't blow Brodeur off. He even said he went to shake his hand, this is suppose to be the class act, the standard bearing of goaltending? Ok fine, Avs is the biggest dick but Brodeur is the biggest baby. The game is hockey, if he doesn't want to get hit then stay on the fucking links from now on.

It takes more then a handshake to be a "class act". How you actually conduct yourself in battle is more of a barometer to me............
And no goalie likes to be hit and cries the minute they are touched trying to draw a penalty or planting the seeds for the next one....

And LOL at your comment about the links...let's compare careers and accomplishments........Yes Avery indeed won this battle but who wins the war? ?

I never said Avery has a better carreer. And I understand no goalie likes to be hit, but it's part of the game. That's why 5 guys in the same jersey come to thier goalies aid when it does happen. You don't got to throw punches cause of accidental contact. Yeah Avery is a goon, he's an asshole, but it's not like Marty's an excpetion and he's nice to every other team's goalie. Brodeur isn't the only goalie who get's hit, intemtionally or not. And I'm pretty sure Avery isn't the only guy who tries to distract the goalie from in front of the net. That doesn't give Brodeur the right to come out of the crease and punch Avery in the mouth cause he's causing traffic. Yeah, Avery won the battle, so fucking shake his hand. If the Devils win, you know Marty would have shaken hands then, and you wouldn't have Sutter bitching about the refs, like bad calls only went against the Devils during the series. Fuck I hate Jersey.

Couple of game 7s on tap for this eve. I will be up late again, watching Calgary and San Jose. Got to love that 5 hour sleep schedule. I want Calgary to win, mainly cause everyone is on the Shark train.

There are few things more exciting in sports than game seven of an NHL playoff series. Conversely, there are few worse letdowns in sports than a 5-0 game seven.

Well, Flyers just knocked the Caps out in overtime. Sucks, as I wanted the Flyers gone, and the Caps to go on. I also need to change my hardcore "Lets Go Caps" MySpace theme song back to Flogging Molly's "Float" as its dated now. Well, at least the game 7 I really want to see, San Jose and Calgary, will be starting on Versus on time. I was foreseeing the old, "joined in progress" if this game slogged along.

Sad. I have been reading about this kid for years, through the prospect and draft days.
FOXNEWS.COM HOME > WORLD Canucks Defenseman Bourdon Killed in a Motorcycle Crash
Luc Bourdon, a promising rookie defenseman with the Vancouver Canucks, was killed Thursday when his motorcycle struck a tractor-trailer in a crash near his hometown. He was 21.
His death was confirmed by sister Eve Bourdon and stepmother Maryse Godin. Both declined further comment when reached at the family's home in Shippagan.
"Luc was a winner; he was a competitor," said Kent Hughes, his agent. "There was no quit in him. He persevered through a lot. He was a great guy and a great teammate."
Police in Shippagan wouldn't confirm the identity of the victim but said a motorcyclist was killed in the early afternoon on a road between Shippagan and Lemeque.
Bourdon was the first-round draft pick of the Canucks in 2005, selected 10th overall. He split time this season with the Canucks and the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. In 27 games with the Canucks, he scored twice and had no assists.
He played on the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the 2007 world junior hockey championship in Vancouver and made the tournament's all-star team. He helped Canada win another gold at the 2007 tournament in Sweden.
Bourdon played for Val d'Or, Moncton and Cape Breton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before turning pro

I held out, but it was easier for me, as I am off this week. I had a grand old time watching. Can you imagine the chagrin in those seats, at the least those fans would have hoped to ring in a Stanley grab - as it was they had to file out around 1AM with the series heading back to Pittsburgh.
Great theatre last night.

Can't take you anywhere: Stanley Cup already has a dent
DETROIT -- The Stanley Cup is OK after taking a tumble during the Red Wings' celebrations in Detroit.
NHL spokeswoman Bernadette Mansur said on Saturday that the Cup got a slight dent Friday after some players took the trophy to Cheli's Chili Bar, a downtown restaurant owned by Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios.
Mansur says a keeper of the Cup traveling with the trophy was able to smooth out the dent. She added that the trophy was expected to continue making the rounds, and that "the Cup has seen worse."
Thousands of Red Wings fans cheered Friday during a parade and rally in downtown Detroit where the Cup was shown off.
The Red Wings clinched the Cup on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh against the Penguins.
