Since he has been a topic of interest here.....
70s and 80s wrestler Iron Mike Sharpe has a role in an upcoming movie called Cartel. Its remake of the 1993 Italian film, La Scorta, about four guards hired to protect a high-profile attorney, who's trying a case against the mafia. Oscar winner Sean Penn was originally cast in the lead role but has just pulled out of the project.

Lillian is leaving. Her own accord, getting married later in the year, and letting her contract expire. She had a 10 year run.

Wrestling midgets killed by fake hookers www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?Wrestling_midgets_killed_by_fake_hookers&in_article_id=696603&in_page_id=34The world of Mexican midget wrestling is in mourning after two of its most famous stars were apparently poisoned by fake prostitutes. Brothers in armlocks Alberto and Alejandro Pérez Jiménez were found dead in a hotel room after being drugged and robbed. The women who spiked the twins' drinks are thought to be members of an organised crime gang who pose as prostitutes to attract victims. They normally just knock out their victims but the dose proved too much for Alberto – aka 'La Parkita' (Little Death) and Alejandro – aka 'Espectrito II'. The 36-year-olds were veteran stars of the 'Lucha Mini' world of midget wrestling. They began their fighting careers 17 years ago in a tag team called the Small Devils and sometimes crossed over into American WWF/WWE wrestling. Skeleton-masked La Parkita fought at the WWF Royal Rumble showpiece events in 1997 and 1998 in a tag team alongside Lucha Mini legend and Hollywood actor Mascarita Sagrada. At the 1997 Royal Rumble, he faced – and beat – a tag team featuring his brother, who was fighting under the name Mini Mankind. Alejandro also fought at WWE events using the alias 'Tarantula'. But it seems their wrestling careers were the last thing on their minds on Sunday night. The luchadors picked up the two women after filming a TV fight show and took them to a hotel, according to police in Mexico City. But while preparing for their 'bouts' they appear to have had their alcoholic drinks spiked before being robbed. The pair were found by cleaners at the hotel on Monday. Tests suggested they had not had sex with the women. It is thought their size made them more vulnerable to the drugs the women put in their drinks. Police suspect a gang known as The Leak or The Drops was involved in the incident and said 20 people were arrested for similar crimes last year. Yesterday, there were conflicting reports as to whether the 'prostitutes' had been arrested.

Cho, the hillbilly guy was the aptly named Hillbilly Jim.
Hey, you guys Im sure recall this recent story of the two midget wrestlers who were killed in Mexico - drugged and such. Well, one of them actually had a WWE connection.
He played "Mini-Mankind" in 97, and he was out a few times with a "Mini-Vader" - while I remember those two, and have tape of them on Raw, I dont remember the mini Paul Bearer they were apparently out with.
He also wrestled under the hood as "Tarantula" on at least two PPVs. One in a bad match on the card that took place the day they found Pillman dead in his room, and another on a Summerslam, a 6-man match reffed by Sunny that newsletter readers voted 2nd best match on that PPV.

You can shove your ring, Vince
By MIKE ALDREN
Published: Today WWE legend Superstar Billy Graham is furious at Vince McMahon.
So furious in fact that the 65-year-old former grappler is selling his WWE Hall of Fame ring on eBay.
Graham is offloading the ring he was awarded in 2004 after the wrestling company sent him a letter releasing him from his consultancy contract which expires on July 19.
Graham is also upset that WWE boss McMahon said that the Hall of Fame exists only in his head.
He told SunSport: "Vince McMahon made a remark at a recent Board meeting that there will never be an actual Hall of Fame building and that the Hall of Fame is something that only exists in his head.
"Shane McMahan has been saying for several years that there will be an actual physical Hall of Fame building and now we know that there will not be one.
"Therefore, if the Hall of Fame is only a figment of Vince's imagination, I will depart with my ring.
"I am not sentimental about anything connected to the WWE or professional wrestling in general."
The current bid for the ring (http://tinyurl.com/namx3f ) stands at $5700 with over seven days to go.
Graham, whose real name is Wayne Coleman, rose to fame in the 1970s.
His bodybuilder's physique and flamboyant patter paved the way for wrestlers like Jesse Ventura, Hulk Hogan, and Triple H, who were all heavily influenced by Graham's persona.

Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore has re-signed with the company. He underwent drug testing at a medical facility to prove he was clean after a well documented pain pill addiction that led to his release in 2007. He will be specifically working with new talent to help them develop.
The Hell in a Cell PPV (new name of No Mercy) will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on October 4.

Happy Birthday to not only my favorite wrestler, but perhaps the greatest wrestler of all time, even surpassing his own idol Ric Flair, today the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels turns 44. And to think he lost almost 5 years due to a broken back, and yet he returned and arguably better than ever cementing his legacy as one of, if not the best worker in the history of pro wrestling.
Happy Birthday HBK, maybe a few photos on the top to commemorate this momentous day is in order, just thinking out loud. Anyway, Happy Birthday Shawn.

I recommend heading over to youtube and watching some old school HBK promos from the early to mid 90's. There's a good one with Di Biases bringing the Undertaker back to WWF on the Heartbreak Hotel, there's a good one with Bret, Owen, the Bulldog and Bob Backlund on the Heartbreak Hotel too. Plus any of the shoots Shawn and Bret had are great, all the original DX promos. And if you're doing that, really treat yourself and watch some matches. I've already watched Jeff Jarrett defending the IC title vs HBK at In Your House 95, the second ladder match from Summerslam 95, HBK vs Owen from No Way Out 96 and of course being the first man to ever draw number 1 in the Royal Rumble and be the last man standing winning the match thus making him the Showstopper. Just a few gems I can't get enough of you guys might enjoy.
But I do highly suggest looking for DX and Ken Shamrock stuff from December 97, the one where Shawn is in the ankle lock with a lollipop still in his mouth as he's flailing away like a fish from the "pain", classic stuff, it's too fucking funny sometimes. Top shelf wrestling stuff that's for sure.
And to show how great he is, when he was forced to do the unthinkable and job to Hogan, even in losing he showed how terrible Hogan is and how far HBK had to go to make Hogan look good. Hogan never looked better in a match and also never looked worse as HBK was just wrestling circles around him. Some of Shawn's best matches are losing efforts, and this was NOT one of his best, but it stands out cause even in defeat he showed how Hogan is so far below HBK's league. I don't think anyone would say Hogan is a better worker than Hogan, but after Shawn made Hogan look like an ass while still losing, there's no question back in the day, old school HBK vs Hogan in his prime, and HBK tears him apart.
And for those of you keeping score at home...nWO dead, DX getting ready for the second reunion tour. Yeah, nWo was more successful, at shooting their load too fast and being irrelevant now.

Balls mark your calendar.....
"Hulk Hogan: My Life Outside the Ring" full of ups & downs Friday, August 14th 2009, 4:00 AM
Hulk Hogan celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, and we'll simply say he's old enough to join AARP!
And speaking of the Hulkster, Aunt Thelma got a peek at his latest book (release date Oct. 27, preorder on Amazon), "Hulk Hogan: My Life Outside the Ring", co-authored by Mark Dagostino (St. Martin's Press).
As James Cagney yelled in "White Heat", "Made it ma, top of the world," and suddenly his world went up in smoke. The same can be said of Hogan.
He made it to the top of the wrestling world, had a top TV reality show (Hogan Knows Best) and then things went up in smoke, beginning with his son's 2007 auto accident.
Hogan wrote of the accident: "At the crash site I saw (my son) Nick looking like an accordion, his head on the gas pedal. He turned to me and gave the thumbs-up and I knew he was alive."
What followed were lawsuits from the surviving passenger, jail for Nick and then Linda, Hogan's wife of 23 years, sued for divorce (which was settled last week), all making for media and personal mayhem.
But through it all the Hulkster claims he's become a better person.
Hogan will do two book signings on Oct. 27: at 12:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, 555 Fifth Ave.; and at 5 p.m. at B&N, 600 Smith Haven Mall, Lake Grove, L.I.

Angle charged with HGH possession
Associated Press
MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. -- Pro wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle has been arrested on charges of possessing a human growth hormone and violating an order of protection in suburban Pittsburgh.
Angle was arrested about 7:50 a.m. Saturday in a Robinson Township strip mall parking lot. His girlfriend, who said she obtained a protection order about 1½ hours earlier after the two fought Friday night, alleged that he had circled the lot staring at her as she sat in a coffee shop, according to a police affidavit.
Police said they found the human growth hormone Hygetropin in Angle's car, and the wrestler told them he had a prescription for the drug. He also told officers he had not seen the woman and was looking for a hotel because he was barred from his home.
Angle, 40, was charged with violating the order of protection, harassment, possession of drugs and paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. He posted bail and is scheduled to appear for a hearing Tuesday on the drug and harassment charges and Wednesday on the charge of violating the protection order, a court clerk said.
Angle, the current heavyweight champion of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, was scheduled to appear in a TNA Wrestling event Sunday night in Orlando, Fla. Steven Godfrey, spokesman for Nashville, Tenn.-based TNA Wrestling, declined comment on the arrest but said the main event between Angle, Sting and "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan would go on as scheduled.
Godfrey also said TNA has a drug policy in place for staff and performers, but he declined to release the details.
Angle's phone number is unlisted. Messages left for attorney Michael Santicola, who has represented him previously, were not immediately returned.
Angle is a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion at Clarion University in western Pennsylvania. He won the 220-pound championship at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, defeating Iran's Abbas Jadidi for the gold medal, and has been a professional wrestler since 1998.
In September, Angle was found not guilty of drunken driving in Moon Township outside Pittsburgh. A motorist told police Angle had cut her off while leaving a bar parking lot.

Here is another story..turns out his "girlfriend" is Rhaka Khan..
TNA world heavyweight champion Kurt Angle has been arrested and accused of 'stalking' one of the company's Knockouts — weeks after his ex-wife ran off with his boss. Still reeling from Karen moving in with TNA founder Jeff Jarrett, Angle violated a 'Protection of Abuse' order obtained by his current girlfriend Rhaka Khan.
The female wrestler, real name Trenesh Biggers, reportedly called police from a Pennsylvania Starbucks saying she was afraid to leave as Angle was waiting outside.
According to TV stations and newspapers in the States, Khan accused the Olympic gold medallist of physical abuse and stealing her phone to delete photographic evidence.
He was then arrested and charged with harassment, driving while suspended and possession of the human growth hormone Hygetropin.
Angle is expected to vigorously deny the accusations.
He told officers on the scene that he has a legal prescription for the drugs and was not stalking Khan, merely looking for a hotel to stay in as he was barred from his home.
The ban on using his car stems from a previous arrest for drink driving.
Ex-WWE star Angle has been released on bail and is still expected to compete in the Hard Justice PPV in Orlando, where he is scheduled to defend his TNA title against Sting and Matt Morgan.
TNA and Angle are yet to comment on the latest developments.

No, no, all legit. Its been brewing for a while, he just needs time off the scene. He is totally banged up, from herniated discs to neck pain, other tweaks. He is also interested in pursuing other projects, like his music, and he has long been pitching a reality show to MTV, which may actually get off the ground.
Basically, how quickly he returns may be based on that show and other ideas of his. From all accounts, he WILL be back. No animosity on either side - in fact, he had signed a one-month extension after his contract was up to get to Summerslam, and worked his ass off throughout. This is a rest. Some think he will be back before the end of the year, but I think this will bleed into 2010 at the least.
Its really just a chance for him to get some rest. Hes 32 but his body is like 62, he has a heap of money in the bank, and is big on taking some time to enjoy it.

A funny story from the Kowloon Chinese restaurant in Saugus, MA, which is a regular hangout for WWE wrestlers when they are in town. The Iron Shiek recently stopped by and tried to pay a $500 tab with autographed pictures of himself.
When the owner told him that would not be possible, Sheik started saying that he was a respected legend and not some jabroni, before telling old stories about life on the road with Bob Orton and Roddy Piper. The owner felt so embarrassed for him that he waived the bar portion of the tab.

LOL. www.f4wonline.comThe British Columbia Lions apologized to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for crotch chopping the Bombers bench before a game last month. Doug Brown said they got the idea from watching pro wrestlers "formerly known as D-Generation X." The Canadian Football League announced yesterday that the Lions have apologized for what they did, and that they have said their behavior was embarrassing and should not be tolerated. They also paid a fine that will go toward allowing underprivileged kids attend an upcoming game.

www.f4wonline.com I was originally going to let this pass, but this show has come with such unbelievably high acclaim, Im seeking it out. In a month the DVD comes out, and Ill get that, from Dragon Gate or my traders. But for any "indy" fans, this PPV drops TONIGHT. Dragon Gate USA premieres on pay-per-view with "Enter The Dragon" tonight on iN DEMAND, DISH Network, TVN and in Canada on Bell ExpressVU and Viewer's Choice. Check your local listings for time, affordable price and replay showings. In terms of wrestling action, this is seriously one of the best PPVs in history. In fact, for those that read my review of it in Figure Four Weekly, Dave actually rated a few of the matches higher than I did. It is well worth whatever you'll have to pay for it, which should be in the $14.99 range for most providers. Line-ups has: 1. Naruki Doi vs. Shingo 2. CIMA & Susumu Yokosuka vs. The Young Bucks of Nick & Matt Jackson 3. Masato Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid 4. Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, Fire Ant & Soldier Ant vs. Hallowicked, Amasis, Gran Akuma & Icarus 5. BxB Hulk vs. YAMATO

Khali and Big Show had a legit fight! I have heard two reasons for it, one is that Khali fudged a move in a 6-man match in Puerto Rico, and Show called him out on it backstage and they went at it. In another version, Show was angry that Khali was using moves that he thinks only he should be using. Either way, Show threw the first punch, and the two giants went at it.
