Well, the TNA surge has me interested enough that I will be watching Impact same Thursday night as airing for the first time I can remember. DVRing it to catch up after 10. Im going to make this a habit as long as it remains on Thursday nights. This show was already taped, and looks solid to me.

Well, have not seen this PPV yet, Ill have it later in the week. Im sorta underwhelmed, but this new regime does need to find its footing. Some things coming out of it I like (Styles turning heel, with Ric Flair) - fans crapped on the ring change. Hogan, already grumpy about the Impact Zone atmosphere, will be even more so. There apparently was an emphasis on Brooke Hogan, which is ominous on many levels.
TNA is taping the next FOUR episodes of Impact over the next 3 days, so the entire next month will be clear by later in the week.

So story out there that Awesome Kong physically attacked Hogan crony and backstaqe interviewer Bubba the Love Sponge at the TNA tapings. This stems off a "F--- Haiti" rant Bubba had on his radio show. Kong has been an active fundraiser for the Haiti cause, and apparently she bopped him.

good, can't stand that guy. He does not belong in TNA. The biggest fear when Hogan comes in is that he's gonna bring his ass-kissing society with him

I'm interested in hearing the ratings from a few weeks ago when they went head to head? Did WWE demoilish TNA?
So, I watched the end of TNA last night. First of all, the Nasty Boys. Gome on with them. I can't believe they give those losers TV time. I know they debuted on the H2H week... which had its moments with all those cameos. Hogan: We know he's your boy but they shouldn't be wrestling. Give me Genration Me instead. And then they shove Nash and Eric Young against them. That was a trainwreck of a match. Who wants to see those 3 dinosaurs in the same ring?
Which brings me to the main event. Was that their version of the "screw job?"

Actually, TNA did fantastic, and exceeded all expectations. While they pulled around a 1.5 and WWE did over a 4, WWE was expecting a better rating, and most pundits expected TNA to be under a 1. To give you an idea on how much a success this is considered, the wheels are in motion to get TNA a Monday slot asap.
Thing with the Nastys is this...they are NOT in longterm. Most consider it a gag Hogan and Bischoff are playing on everyone who whined, "watch them bring back the freakin' Nasty Boys" when they signed on. Its a wink and a nod. And seriously, Nasty Boys and Dudleys can be fun!
Yeah...that was a nod to the screwjob. Ill say this, it played better than it read in the spoilers. As lame as it is to go to the same well here and there, there is intrigue on who is REALLY behind it. And without spoiling things, they taped the next 3 episodes already, and this all plays out pretty good.
TNA has buzz right now that they had not had. Hogan and Bischoff are working hard. They may not beat the WWE anytime soon, but they may very well carve quite the niche for themselves, and get out of fringe-promotion mode.

K so The Nasty Boys beat Team 3D with the help off...............wait for it............................Jimmy Hart..............UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How soon till Hogan's fat out of shape friends win the Tag Titles? Seriously, those fat fucks and not Beer Money?
It's only a matter of time before Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake comes into TNA. TNA is going down the shitter. Gret enjoy the slight ratings spike, the content is downright dreadful. Vince Russo sucks, Bischoff sucks, and Hogan sucks. It turned into Hogan hiring and putting over his friends while other talented guys get sidelined. It's pathetic.

Again, whining too much about too little. What you neglected to mention was last night was a star turn for The Pope, D'Angelo Dinero. The other wrestler who came out looking really good was Mr Anderson, who is not a "new name" but is not a relic either.
Im very much looking forward to seeing the Nasty / 3D match. Stop being a party poop.

I must say, they are keeping things interesting.
I'm with James though regarding the Nasty Boys. Have that big brawl with the Dudleys, and get them out ASAP.
That will hands down be a one star match on the Torch. Maybe even an 'n/a'

Well first off, the 90's style of booking is clearly in TNA cause of Hogan, the title match doesn't close the show, the send the crowd home happy all the time match with the Pope winning had to go on last. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the fact he won, I like some of the new guys who can go getting a chance to mix it up, although I didn't expect Wolfe to go out so early, let alone Angle. But I like guys like Anderson and The Pope and Wolfe working quickly with the established guys. But there was no doubt who was winning the finals when it was the last match on the card. Then with the pre match beatdown, let's plat into the ppv name, Against All Odds and have the face win to send the crowd home happy. For me, there was no mystery in that last match who was winning. Same situation but before the title match, way bigger surprise and way bigger moment. Terrible booking call there.
But The Nasty Boys have nothing to do with the title picture, they suck all on their own. So teams like Beer Money and the Machine Guns aren't on the card, Brian Kendrick not on the card, it goes on and on, and why? The fucking Nasty Boys? They could never work let alone now. And I'd rather listen to Stephen Hawkins cut promos then those two morons. It's obvious it's all about Hogan's friends, Bubba the Love Sponge? No I don't want OnA there but Bubba has no business there he's terrible. I wish Kong killed him. The Nasty Boys? The first 3 minutes of the match last night was nothing but punching. No, it doesn't take away from the newsworthy moments of the ppv but some matches could have gone longer or more deserving guys could have had some ppv time, not those out of shape, outdated assholes. There's nothing entertaining about it, unless of course you drink Hogan's cool aid and think everything he does is fucking genius. In that case.............best pay per view ever.

Brushed elbows with Mick Foley at the Nets game last night. Unfortunately did not have a camera to ask for a pic....Funny part is they put him up on the scoreboard with his old music and under his picture on the screen it said "TNA EXECUTIVE SHAREHOLDER"......I laughed really hard at that for some reason....

Ric Flair's wife arrested in assault caseArticle
BY STEVE LYTTLE - THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER The wife of former professional wrestling champion Ric Flair was arrested late Sunday in an apparent domestic assault case, police say.
Jacqueline Beems, 41, is charged with misdemeanor assault, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Beems and Flair were married about three months ago.
WCNC-TV, the Observer's news partner, says police received a domestic violence call about 11:40 p.m. Sunday at the Flairs' home near Colony and Rea roads. No additional information was available.
On Monday afternoon, Flair's agent, Melinda Morris Zanoni, of Legacy Talent and Entertainment, released the following statement:
"Ric and his wife had an unfortunate disagreement late (Sunday) night, which led to his wife being arrested and charged with assault. Ric has done nothing wrong. ... Ric finds this incident unsettling and is committed to correcting any issues in his personal life."
Flair and Beems met in 2004 in Chicago and dated until they married Nov. 11. Each was married previously.
Flair, whose given name is Richard Morgan Fliehr, has been involved in other police incidents. In September 2008, he received cuts and bruises and his 23-year-old daughter was arrested in connection with a dispute that also involved a 22-year-old man at a Raleigh apartment complex.
And in November 2005, Flair was charged in connection with an incident on Interstate 485 in south Charlotte. In that case, he was accused of grabbing another motorist by the neck.

I'm waiting with baited breath for the HOF ring on a pole match, it's a lock for Match of the Year.
I was totally down about it, there were some newsworthy things, and hopefully the parts with Morgan and Hernandez lead to the Tag Division being strong again. But I hate Eric "Fonzie" Young with Nash, is he some bad ass with the leather jacket? Since Hogan came some guys just switched from heel to face just like that out of nowhere, even ODB was a face last night after mostly being a heel feuding with Tara. And where the FUCK are the Beautiful People? Someone needs to wake up and get Angelina back with them, they aren't the same without her.
Overall there was stuff that made me want to see next week, but the Abyss stuff and a bunch of other things really ruined this week for me. And just comparing the two shows this week only, Raw was far better. Raw was a step up from last week, matches were set, Taker/HBK announced with the huge twist, Raw had a great show this week while Impact was hurting.

Well, seeing the Nasty Boys again made me cringe.
It took an hour for a decent match to happen, even though Flair during the opening skit was very funny.

I'm with you Cap. I will call right now my first ever TNA mark out moment is when RVD and AJ go one on one at a PPV with like 30 or 40 mins of time given to them. He could have some great matches with a bunch of guys. He could be a major guy in the title picture in the Monday Night Wards. He's got star power, still young enough to go in the ring, and a roster full of guys he could tear the house down with. RVD will have a huge mark on TNA, heed my words.

Who knows, maybe they beat down Hall. From all accounts TNA has no interest in working with Hall longterm, but are open to giving 6-Pac, who can go in the ring, a shot.

TNA was pretty good as well....I liked seeing Spike back with the Dudleys..I am sure Grover appreciated the Nasty Boys appearance....Also ironic Jimmy Hart was back in the ring and I just started his book this morning and he was talking about his first actual match. I got a chuckle at the X-Pac remark directed to Bishoff about maybe not getting his walking papers via Fed Ex this time....I do agree about the Abyss super hero thing with the HoF ring and now "hulking up" being stupid....Anytime Flair punches himself mid rant so the juice can pour down his face as he goes crazy is classic in my book (also nice to see they don't have a ref putting on gloves with a towel in hand like they now have in WWE at the sight of a trickle of blood....gotta keep that PG raiting I guess)......

If you ever wanted to read Bischoff's book, but didn't want to shell out the $15 or so, you can get it now at wweshop.com for $1.98

Yeah, score one for the WWE....they changed the price to $1.98 on it days after Bischoff bragged to the blogsphere that even though he is working with TNA he got a $50,000 royalty check from WWE last quarter thanks to that book.

it would have been funny if they used the rating Impact got last week to set the price, 87 cents or whatever the exact number was.
