Well, ill take a gander at this 7PM offering tonight, and then settle in to watch TNA as it airs, and Raw afterwards on the DVR. TNA is still my preference, all of its problems aside. For what its worth, whatever the Hell this 60 minute show at 7 is, its getting high marks. I suppose it has a reality tinge, cause many are saying it uses a heap of elements NXT should have.

Since I am on board with the Jay Lethal/Hogan Mega Powers spoof let me mention that the Prime Time offering on 24/7 has the first Mega Powers union with the first mega hand shake....

From The Sun... Giovanna is Kurt’s new AngleBy SIMON ROTHSTEIN Published: 13 Apr 2010 Add a comment (5) TNA star Kurt Angle has got engaged to a gorgeous model 17 years his junior. The Olympic gold medallist, 41, proposed to Giovanna Yannotti, pictured right, a few weeks ago. The couple have been dating for several months, meeting when the 24-year-old model and actress landed a small part in his recent movie End Game. Sources within both Angle's management and TNA confirmed to SunSport that the couple are "engaged and very happy". Last week Kurt's first wife Karen revealed that she is engaged to TNA founder Jeff Jarrett. The two struck up a controversial relationship after Karen's divorce from Kurt, which saw Jeff temporarily banished from the company. The two men are now back on speaking terms after Jarrett issued an apology. Ok, Ill start with this, TNA kicked ass this Monday. Great show. Energy level high, the matches were really good, it was just a good watch. I was happy to see the hard to please people on the Torch, per se, voted Impact over Raw as the better show by a tremendous margin.
In the end, they got 1 viewer to every 3 Raw got....a few weeks ago it was close to 5 to 1. If Impact keeps putting up good shows, they can come out ok.
As to RVD, heres my take. Good business move. The fans adore this guy. I myself was never a fan, for a heap of reasons. That said, Im happy to have him around, he brings needed starpower. I have since heard AJ was grumpy about dropping the title, but its time for changes over there in TNA, thats fact.
I dont think RVD over Hardy is totally related to the drug cloud over Hardys head, though its a good reason TNA can bring up to Jeff. I have read that Jeff has been sluggish and showing up in odd conditions for work, and its been taken notice of. So I dont think TNA has total faith in him. During the RVD / Hardy match, I was praying for a clean pinfall one way or another. And hardly expecting that. And we got it! Great work.

I didn't get to see Monday's shows yet, but then I saw Sancho's post, and went to the Torch to read the review, and saw glowing remarks for the show in general, and for the title change.
This also comes after Angle/Anderson's supposed five star match on the Sunday PPV.
Did Russo stop booking? LOL

I have not seen the ppv yet, but its on its way to me. There were some things people picked on regarding the ppv, but they liked the last couple of matches. Russo is still around though claiming burnout, but I think people are pushing for a change. Trying to get rid of the rat-a-tat-tat elements (which actually were there on Impact the week before even, with Abyss being hit by a car and bottle shots to heads and stuff)
I really enjoyed Impact, and there is an element of anything can happen that has been missing from WWE for a LOOOONNNNGGGG time.

WWE is so stale right now it's nauseating.
Swagger is decent with the belt, but he's still got a ways to go before he's a top heel. Punk is awesome, but I can't think of anything else I really care about.
The wrestling element just isn't there, aside from the one or two good matches on Smackdown.
TNA was heading that direction the last few weeks, and it was frustrating. From what I've read it was a solid show, and I'm going to go watch it now.
===========================================
Ok, just got done watching. great show. Awesome action.
Rob Terry is terrible.

Should be a fun next few days / weeks, as TNA is set to start slashing talent. Roster is too bloated, there is going to be serious cost-cutting going on. First signs of this were last night with Jeremy Borash handling the ring-announcing, as Dave Penzer was shown the door.
TNA is taping the next FOUR weeks of television this week, so as I read it will be pretty evident who is in the future plans and who is not, as they set up for the June PPV.

JJ interfered and smashed Sting with a bat on the PPV last night. Also, Dreamer made an appearance.

Yeah, but those are not the big announcements. Dixie did in fact tease a "nice surprise" for last night - that would be Dreamer, but it was not pushed ultra-hard. Most thought it would be Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas, or Mickie James, and most were dissapointed.
Heres the thing on the BIG SURPRISE. Its apparently not one thing that will just be like, whoa. Its supposed to be something we NOTICE IN TIME. Wether its a format change on the show, or what, its not a big name. Its been confirmed its NOT Heyman, its NOT JR, its not things like that.

Scott Hall, fired by TNA.
His last arrest, last month for drunk and disorderly in a tavern by his home, was the last straw. Most are surprised he lasted this long.

This is what I am reading now in regards to the surprise. TNA is scrapping the PPV model as it stands, and possibly cutting down the PPVs from monthly to 3-4 a year.
More importantly to the fanbase, they would now be running MONTHLY SPECIALS ON SPIKE. So, basically, if its what this implies, free ppvs on SPIKE.
Will they be going against WWE PPvs? What night? Who knows. But this is what it looks like.

Good, and now can they put the tag belts on a legit tag team?
Every time Hall and Nash come to the ring I FF as quickly as I can. Get all these old assholes off my TV, and get Abyss off my TV too.

Hall has been fired, and X-Pac was also shown the door.
Abyss, as of these tapings, is now a MONSTER HEEL.
And welcome the ECW faction, which for now consists of Dreamer, Raven, and Richards!

A boo. Nash and Young are screwed, they'll be dropping the belts soon. And who cares about an ECW invasion, it's been done before. And plus the best ECW guy in TNA now calls himself Mr. TNA. TNA is turning into as big a cluster fuck as WWE is.

I think this is great news and will help TNA. Now with only two shops (WWE & TNA) and the same handful of guys at the top (especially in WWE) I think it will help TNA greatly if they go to quarterly PPVs and build the storylines over a 3 month arc as opposed to every 3 weeks now as what is seems....I don't think their PPVs were doing great buys, heck I am a fan and never contemplating buying one and even in WWE it is the Big 3 at most for me (Rumble, Wrestlemania and Summerslam)......I guess this special will be a Clash of Champions like event.....And yes TNA is much easier on the eyes these days though the Invasion angle has finally made WWE interesting again for now.
Also agree on Abyss he is horrible in current role and his greatest strength is being a old school Kane like character....

Well, for one thing, this news is out there, but it is not officially confirmed. So lets see if they bungle which is, on the surface, a good plan.
To give you an idea, the PPVs are said to do around 25,000 - 50,000 a show, give or take. WWE does closer to 200,000 on a bad show.
While PPV is not a big revenue stream for TNA, they have not lost money doing them either. But yeah, its not a terrible idea to change the business model.
Me, I get the PPVs later in the week for $6, from a trader. Im a couple behind, but this way I dont miss some great matches, which show up here and there on these PPVs.
I very much liked the old Abyss. I even bought the commercial version of the Abyss TNA DVD! Yes, an Abyss DvD! This lovable lug had to go.

Though it may not be everyone's cup of tea...the Flair - Lethal segment this past week was some of the most entertaining TV in quite a long time..I could not stop laughing and I really though Ric was going to have a stroke right on the spot....Classic!

It would have been good to have them try to out woo each other for a good while. That was a great exchange. Flair, in general, has been murder in TNA.
Hey if we ever do a TNA PPV at T's house can we do a Rob Terry clothesline drinking game?
