Anyone else see this? Dana suggested we tape it (Monday at 9 is reserved for Raw) and I am glad she did.
Strong first episode. I like the majority of the characters, for now. Glad to see Adrian Pasdar (Profit) back working on a network show in a featured role.
Problem with serial shows like this is if you missed the first episode Monday, or the replay of such the next night, you may be lost next week. But, again, anyone see? Balls, you should be on this.

I actually did catch the premiere on Monday. It airs at a difficult time, but I definitely will tune in again. I liked the Japanese guy too. In fact, there was an article in the Post BEFORE the premiere, specifically touting that character. It doesn't hurt seeing Ali Larter in slutty outfits. It didn't have as good a pilot as Lost, but I could definitely tell that Heroes is influenced by it.

Second episode was not as good as the first. The idea that the cop could be arrested for being too heroic was a bit dumb to me. I realize they are trying to copy the mystery/slow development of Lost, but this isn't Lost. Get moving.

Third episode so far is better. But come on with the cheerleader. Could she be more accident prone? It's one thing when she was doing it to herself, but now she's getting raped and just happens to be gored by a log--one week after having her neck broken in a football practice?
Come on. She's like Fackler from Police Academy. Token gore.

Show has been officially picked up for a full season.

The cheerleader has the most interesting superpower, even though the Japanese guy is the funniest. The only problem is that the cheerleader isn't quite invulnerable. She can just fix everything that goes wrong fairly quickly. She can be killed.
She's turning into Kenny from South Park.

Heroes' ratings went up 10 percent this week, and it was already doing well. Other than Hiro, the characters don't really interest me, but the storyline does. There seemed to be less gore this week too, which helps.
Next week, Friday Night Lights will get a shot to follow Heroes, with some hope that the ratings will bounce up a bit with a strong lead. I hope so.

If I am not mistaken the previous weeks episode also pops up on the NBC family of networks. One of those Sci-Fi or USA sorts of channels. I know its out there somewhere.

That episode last night was a bit of a clunker. Like everything, some episodes are better than others. It makes me wonder how many people like that exist on the show. Seems like almost everyone has some sort of special power going on.

Nothing wrong with the episode. Dana and I enjoyed it. And, contrary to your emails to me, a lot did happen. Its called character development, and build-up. This is not a 90 minute Rocky movie. Its a serial drama.
Sounds to me you are just pissy that Hiro was not all over the show. I like the character, but I am happy they gave it a break for a bit. Its an ensamble cast, and each one has a part to play. I like the buildup.

Heroes got its lowest rating yet this past week, and 24 slid past it at the 9PM Monday night scale. We just watched the episode, and it was strong. We're sticking with the show.

I noticed something strange. Clare's friend, who may or may not be gay, actually looks like a 16 year old Mike Piazza. I noticed it for the first time watching this week's episode. I'd post a picture, but I don't know his name.
That said, the episode this week was very good. I am still shocked that Heroes is losing to 24. As good as 24 is, Heroes is the next big thing, and I'm surprised it hit that wall.
Of course, I would be thrilled to see Heroes move.

Heroes will not move. Its still in the top 10. If anything, the fact that over a million people chose not to watch one week after watching the previous week is a shot against the show, and not the timeslot. They need to keep things moving along, people were getting "bored" from a number of accounts.
Also, if Heroes pulled a chickenscratch move and ran from 24, NBC would go from having a top 10 show in that timeslot to having a show ranked 50th. Makes no sense. What Heroes needs to do is improve and beat 24....it had been doing it before.
Clare's friend, who may or may not be gay
Uh, idiot, he is. It was already mentioned on the show a couple of times.

Actually, Heroes didn't really beat 24 by anything significant. They were neck and neck when 24 premiered. The battle has only been going on a few weeks though. It's not like Nitro kicking Raw's ass for a 18 months or so.
And there's a difference between being called gay, and really being gay, you homo.

Hiro Nakamura is a tool. Became my least favorite character on the show, surpassing even Micah. Dana and I have to laugh every time we watch at his constant whining. "I failed.....I cant do it......I broke my sword......boo hoo."
If Ando does go out and get killed, tack this one up on Hiro. Even Ando got tired of his whining and decided to take care of things himself.
Not happy to see George Takei back, either, that whole storyline is starting to wear on me. I do enjoy the show, but I would be a liar if I said I am going to miss it bunches. I am sort of happy its ending next week. But its a good watch, for the most part, even if it tries to get too cute with overly complex plotlines so the writers can say, "hey, look at us!"
Sylar's Mom has to take a lot of blame for his outlandish behavior of late. He tried to turn over a new leaf, and she pushed him to the brink.
My favorite character is Parkman.

Askewniverse auteur Kevin Smith is not the only film scribe on board for Heroes: Origins, the spring 2008 offshoot of NBC's hit drama. The trades are reporting Monday morning that both Eli Roth (Hostel) and Michael Dougherty (Superman Returns, X-Men 2) are suiting up to write and/or direct episodes.
The six-episode Heroes: Origins will launch in the spring, after the mother ship's sophomore run has ended, and will concern enabled characters not previously seen on the series. Viewers will then vote on which newbies they would like to see join our band of merry men and women for Season 3.
TVGUIDE.COM
Ok, I am cool with this, and can tell you right now I will be passing on "Heroes:Origins." I am no fan of prequels or anything of the ilk. I was under the impression this Season 2 of Heroes was a prequel, and I was hesitant to watch. I am glad its seemingly something totally different.
