Honestly, if I could organize a boycott of MSNBC, WFAN, Amex and Sprint, I would.
I am so sick of the trampling of the 1st amendment.
Fire the guy for being old & washed up... fire him to change to an all sports format... fire him because the ratings tanked... but this witch hunting is idiotic.
Come on. Those assholes Opie and Anthony said so many horrible, mean spirited, rude and sexist things about Sarah Jessica Parker that she called in and cried on the air. I guess that's OK because she's white?
What complete crap.

My comments about Imus being irrelevant pertaioned to him alone. His guests were the ones that were relevant. They simply used his air to speak their minds. His opinions meant nothing.
I have no respect for him because he is a blowhard. He always talked like he didn't take shit from anybody (the suits at CBS, MSNBC, etc...), but in the end he was a simpering, unfunny, pussy that apologized for something that given his "tough guy take no shit" persona, he shouldn't have been apologizing for.
If anything he should have been apologizing for the joke not being funny.
A few years back, when he spoke at that dinner and made the remarks about Bill Clinton that were so "objectionable" he didn't apologize for it. THen againj, no one was calling for him to be fired, but he said he stood by his remarks.
Fuck him and his entire unfunny crew.

While not a big Imus fan, this is horseshit. But I really think they didn't fire Imus for just the remark itself...there were other forces here. He has made a career out of kicking people when they were down, and boy everyone lined up to lay the boots to him this week.

That was different than this because that was funny.
As for the Imus thing, I want some white guy to get offended at a black comedian making jokes based on race and have someone make a big stink about it. Fuck if it was fun ny or unfunny, his job is to talk and be opinionated. If he bashes someone, oh well, they should either get over it or call in and cry about it. And every single black person jumped in on this shit and spun it to be how they take offense to it as a black person. What about their tough guy take no shit attitude? Yeah Imus is a douche for apologizing so much but he isn't more pussy then any black person who got pissed off at his unfunny, out of touch joke. There's something wrong with the people in this country.

it's like with this whole jackie robinson thing now..
im glad they are praising jackie and honoring him like they are for what he had to endure to play the game it's the least we can do.but now check this out
"This is supposed to be an honor," Hunter told USA Today, "and just a handful of guys wearing the number. Now you've got entire teams doing it. I think we're killing the meaning.
"It should be special wearing Jackie's number, not just because it looks cool," Hunter told the newspaper.
"It kind of waters it down," Cleveland Indians pitcher C.C. Sabathia told USA Today. "I could see the Dodgers since that was his team, but not everyone else."
we'll NOW we have too much praise for a black guy, but i thought the issue was we don't praise the black guy enough.. and umm how come #3 hasn't been retired i mean babe ruth is the best and most well known baseball player ever..

Oh, yea. One other observation. Does anyone else find it absolutely hilarious that the person he was talking to when he made that unfunny remark was none other than Sid Rosenberg?
LOL!!
BTW, Cactus Serge, why don't you be that white guy that gets offended?

These NAPPY HEADED HO's now have the world in the palm of their hands. Whatever they choose to do in life, they will be remembered and get whatever they want now that this fiasco has hit an all time high. I.E. Future education, employment etc. These places will think more then twice rejecting their application.

Sid, of all people...karma is a mother fucker.
Hell, he said that the Williams sisters shouldn't be posing in Playboy, they should be in National Geographic. Definitely more of a racist comment, but also funnier.
And now Sid is doing drive time (or is it lunch) on The Ticket down in Miami. It's a forgiving world. Imus should have just said the one apology, taken whatever was coming to him, and moved on.
And I agree with Stern, which I rarely do. Imus was a pathetic shell of a man with all the apologizing. He should have said "Fuck you, it was a joke!" Point for Stern.

Even Jim Kerr was on the soapbox this morning, waving the flag with Imus but more importantly siding with the Stern side that thought one apology was enough. Donald Trump was a phone-in guest on the show and he too thought Imus groveling was the worst thing he could have done, and he made a bad situation 1000 times worse.
Poor Imus. Apparently he even called his wife a "ho" earlier in the show. "A green ho" as she is some environmentalist. And when I read this Rutgers player bitching, "unless the definition of a ho has changed, that does not fit me." Insane. It was a joke. But Imus should have zipped it.

S N O O P, on Imus and his own lyrics; “It’s a completely different scenario. Rappers are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports.
“We’re talking about hos that’s in the ‘hood that ain’t doing shit, that’s trying to get a nigga for his money. These are two separate things.
First of all, we ain’t no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them muthafuckas say we are in the same league as him.
“Kick him off the air forever.” Ah, G-d bless free speech, and the 1st Amendment......do we still have that one?

I have so much to say about this but Im not going to put it in writing .....But the real scary part about this whole thing and our society today is that most ppl are just a bunch of sheep. Just willing to believe anything that is popular at the time ...its quite discerning to watch from the sidelines all of the witch hunts that have been taking place and when the air clears and in the cases like Duke rape case ...Nothing is said everyone just goes about there business ...and in the Imus situation ...Imus is fired .Al Sharpton moves on to the next popular BS story ..and everyone else goes about there business....Nothing got better because IMUS got fired ......i cant stand him but he served a purpose... I just really would like to believe that there are really not that many stupid ppl in this country....

You know, fuck Imus.
Chapelle isn't making fun of white people on the WFAN moring show he's doing it in the evening, way past primetime. Same goes for South Park and all the racist remarks they get away with. They are not on MSNBC mornings being watching by assholes, they are late at night.
Society has a accepted system where certain things are accepted from certain people at certain levels, and Imus knows that, and he was stuck in the part of the system where you can't get away with that shit because he's unfunny and an asshole. Sorry, but because Opie and Anthony do what they do doesn't mean Katie Couric can get away with it. You think he doesn't know how the system works? You think he doesn't know guys like Sharpton are lurking around waiting for stuff like this? My fucking ass.
What he said wasn't even that bad, but he has no one to blame but himself.

I think people are missing the point here. I could care less about what Imus said about nappy headed hoes. I care that Imus is trying to hide behind first amendment arguments to defend something that should have happened a long time ago - an irrelevant waste of the airwaves was finally put to rest. Don Imus being fired was not breach of the first amendment. It was a result of a breach of MSNBC and CBS desire to make $$$$$$$$$! Sponsors didn't like the negative publicity and they started pulling out. If sponsors on the Imus show hadn't said peep, then we'd still have to endure that untalented, unfunny old coot on the air today. Don Imus can say whatever he likes on the air - the first amendment gives him that right. But as an employee in the "entertainment industry" he is very much subject to the whim of the public. If the public stops giving patronage to sponsors of the Imus show, or even if the sponsors feel that the content of a show might result in reduced patronage, then they have a right to take action, and the radio station has right to take action in removing that content which is undesirable to sponsors. The airwaves are not there for the purposes of serving as Don Imus' private unrestricted soapbox - his arrogant old ass lost sight of the fact that he has an audience to entertain. He has to play by OUR rules, not vice versa, and if he doesn't we don't listen to his show and we don't support his shows sponsors. We as the audience and sponsors who cater to us are doing Imus the favor by providing him with the PRIVILEGE of broadcasting to US...once he becomes irrelevant or undesirable to us...he's OUT!!!!!! See ya Imus! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

black and white or whatever you are.. that's not what the whole issue is anymore..
it's about $$$$$$$$$.. why do you think msnbc and cbs canned Don Imus..
the all mighty dollar
if imus served his 2 weeks, came back that would've served a better purpose than firing and now it's on to the next shit story.. of black vs white.. it's a god damn joke

For the most part, I agree with Cho on the first amendment issue. Imus absolutely had the right to say what he did, but people also have the right to react like they did. It's not like Imus was on a government sponsored program and was silenced. It's not like Imus was fired based on pressure from the FCC. He was fired because of the backlash and the money.
It would have been nice if the radio station stood behind him and said tough shit, but they didn't. That's their right too.

Everybody forgets thats Star and Buckwild got canned for being offensive as well. Don Imus, well, he stopped being funny when he was on NBC back in the day. I can't say I was really offended by his remarks about the Rutgers girls, I still crack up at the sparking wiggles video.

Barb, Barb, Barb. Please get your facts straight. That was NOT Star and Buc, that was their former sidekick Miss Jones' crew. Different station, different people. The producer and some others took the fall for that, but Jones kept her job. Star and Buc watched from afar, and laughed at it.
What you may be thinking about in regards to Star and Buc is when Aaliya or whoever that was died in that crash and they played that loop of crashing noises over her song. That was a major brouhaha.

Because, they are black we are white. they can say and do whatever they want, we need to be pussies. We need to be cautious what we say cause only white people can be racist and offensive. I never considered myself racist, and still don't, but I can't wait for the fucking race war.
