James who said TNA is ECW circa 93/94? Nor is everything a "holy shit" moment....And I am someone who resisted watching TNA for years but I would rather watch any of the TNA things you mocked then Chris Angel Mind Freak or magical Sugar dusted Lucky Charms.....For myself I am just comparing the two shows and for me TNA at this point is leaps and bounds better..Heck Raw has to work at being better then Smackdown first......

Never said it was, cause I know it isn't. but around here, since hogan came in, some people act like every episode is a gem. Like wow, can't wait to see what they do next, really? Is it that compelling? Again, not acting like WWE is a superior product, but TNA isn't much better than Raw. I'm bored by an hour and a half of TNA every week. Again, do I need to mention one of the better workers in the past 15 years has no direction, he's flipping burgers or picking up trash? Yeah, Edge yelling spear 17 million times is annoying but so is the Abyss thing, so is the Kliq thing, so is the Jarrett thing, so is the Hogan and Flair thing. I'm just sick of people acting like TNA is killing right now. If anyone here doubts that Mania won't be better than the entire TNA year, you're lying to yourself.
I can deal with annoying pieces here and there on a 2 hour show. Not for over an hour. I find more pros than cons with WWE, but I know it isn't good. But TNA is just as bad, I'm can't see them as some flag bearer for wrestling just cause they got a Monday slot. It's fucking shit. I mean seriously, if the people here whose been watching longer than me can't see the similarities in how Hogan and WWE book their shows, I don't know what to say to you. I means it's sorta obvious and understandable, but doesn't make it better.
I know Raw needs work, and I agree it needs to be better than SD, my complaints is the TNA love because it is not leaps and bounds better. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, if you like TNA better fine. I don't dig the variety show, I haven't like the booking for sometime. For me, there's a difference between writing that doesn't work and needs fixing and a style you just don't like. For me, TNA is the style I don't like, and I didn't like it before hogan, I just think he made it worse. He ruined wrestling in the 80's and 90's, now he's trying again. I hope his hip shatters and he leaves brown stains in the ring.

Barking up the wrong tree here, as the majority of people choosing TNA on here were TNA first even before Hogan came on board. Raw has been BEYOND STALE. And the guest host concept has terrribly ruined things and bought the walls down.
TNA is just much more compelling, and I enjoy the characters more. Desmond Wolfe, Mr Anderson, Pope. I myself like the storylines with the older guys cause i AM an older guy. I like seeing these guys around. I cant believe you are on here ripping TNA storylines, when people are tripping on Lucky Charms over on WWE television.
TNA all the way for me.

Actually, that's not what I said at all. I never said anyone disliked TNA then jumped on board. I said the TNA marks on here have gone ape shit with Hogan. I barely here anyonw ripping TNA anymore, everything is gold Jerry, gold.
And I never said WWE is top shelf nor did I ever say or consider the Lucky Charms shit was entertaining. I admitted a lot is bad, and they need improvement. I'm just not on board with the whole TNA is fantastic programming. I don't see why WWE gets so ripped but TNA is great. It's just as bad, how is a storyline revolving around a HOF ring so good?
And you actually backed me up, all you did is mention good workers. Pope was number one contender, now he's not, now the HOF ring that gives Abyss his super power is overshadowing the world title tonight. Fucking great. Yes, lucky charms is bad, but so is the whole Kliq thing, so is the Jarrett thing, I don't see TNA that much better, and when all you can do is say I like the characters, it worta backs up what I'm saying. Thanks for assist.

I'm with James on this.
Why Abyss is getting this push is beyond me. If it's a thank you, do it further down the line. He's a Kane/Mankind lite, and doesn't match up well for this day and age. If this was the 80's, this would have been bad ass, but it's not, so I'd rather have a guy who will put a solid match with Styles rather than Abyss.
The past couple of weeks the format has creeped to that of RAWs rather than what they've had, which is understandable, but I don't like it. I'm just weary of who we will see as opposed to who we SHOULD see. When I come home from work, I will watch, and if I see the fucking Nasty Boys or Man Cow, I'm going to shit. I better not see a 3 minute Guns/Generation Me match.

Not saying TNA is great but it is most definitely far better then RAW........If Smackdown were on Monday Nights the decision might be tougher........Heck I think NXT may be better then RAW soon as I am giving it a chance.....Now I am not a Hogan mark like some (I mean like one) here is but I enjoy seeing some of the older guys as well for the reasons Tom stated as long as they don't take over and dominate and still give the young guys the rub.........I agree with Grover regarding Bubba (but it seems JB has reemerged the past few weeks)....I don't harp on the Nastys as yes they are painful to watch these days but I know they won't be around forever.....Can't wait to watch RAW tonight to watch Chis Angel get led around by the Bella Twins and turning Hornswoggle into a giant and lord knows what to Santiino...

See, you're wrong in this respect. Abyss HAS had some great matches with Styles. These two have feuded in the past, and Abyss has had some very good battles with him. Abyss, this corny storyline aside, is a good big-man wrestler, who also incorporates a lot of the hardcore tricks when its been the order of the day. But TNA is confident Abyss and Styles can have some good matches, and being a longtime Abyss fan, I agree.
I had heard the plan was for Abyss to become dominating, but more a MONSTER again than a clown. Right now hes showing clown, bad use, yeah. But again, lets let all this play out.
Jeremy Borash is back, no worries there folks.
Cap nailed it. TNA is better than Raw, period. And thats that.
LOL @ Criss Angel. Oh, and WWE is countering TNA's "first 5 minutes" with Undertaker addressing the crowd. It will take him 5 minutes just to walk up the ramp! No thank you.

Well I really hope abyss gets serious. This goof gimmick is stupid.
I'm just worried they will have something stupid planned like that horrible cage match they had when Hogan came aboard.

David Hasselhoff!

I hope he eats a hamburger.

Um defend what? I never said Raw was good. But if you want my opinion on the host, yeah it sucks and I wish it'd be done with. However, I don't get all worked up because of a host. I could care less. You might find this shocking, but there's more on the show than the host. Anytime the guest host comes on, all it means to me is time for a piss break. Why would I care? I watch for the wrestling, not for the segments.
And before everyone jumps on me that Raw doesn't have much wrestling, I'm aware. I also don't get too bothered by it this time a year since it's important to keep guys healthy. You know, cause of the tiny show they call wrestlemania or something.

TNA was fun last night. I really enjoyed the Sting heel turn, and this one was all-in. Sting has done this before, to the point I totally forgot about one of his heel turns (and even after watching it again on YouTube did not remember it) and in the other one he was totally not into it, and it showed. Bad-ass Sting swinging his bat around last night and pushing Dixie into a wall was intriguing.
I was happy to see Jeff back, although Im not his biggest fan. Where he is, action follows. He has that factor. Some are questioning the use of RVD last night, but remember its a marathon, not a sprint. Next week (taping tonight) its RVD teaming with Jeff Hardy against AJ and Desmond Wolfe.
I flipped to Raw during commercials, did a little bit of picture and picture, and could smell the staleness coming off the screen. I will watch it tonight, but sadly I say that without a glimmer of excitement over that.
James, not sure, but as of yesterday TNA was supposed to replay in its normal Thursday night timeslot.

I'll be the first to admit Raw wasn't great last night, the show is very inconsistent. Some weeks they make steps in the right direction, the following week they set themselves back several spots. HHH and Sheamus is on for Mania. That was so so. HBK and Taker to kick off the show was good, not great but good. I liked the Legacy thing, and since they went with the handicap match last night, I do want to see what they do with those three for Mania. Cena, Batista, Vince and Bret are boring.
I still don't understand why the Pope isn't facing AJ anymore and I don't get why Abyss is being pushed the way he is. It goes to show, if you're cool with Hogan you're set. Hogan will only push his friends or people he likes. Wolfe, Pope, and Kendrick, the Machine Guns and up until two weeks ago, Beer Money were all getting the shit end of the stick. I don't like that shit.
I've read the results, but I still will watch later in the week. But Hogan aside for a second, I don't see any reason whatsoever the retard who thinks he's superman with a ring beats the champ clean? Really TNA? Really?

Have you even been watching? Wow, you're wrong.
Pope was the superstar of the last PPV, which was on Hogans watch. He's had plenty of facetime, and was part of the run in at the end. He's mixing it up with the main eventers, just last week he was in there with AJ and Flair to open the show. He is also set to HEADLINE AGAINST STYLES on the April Lockdown PPV. Wolfe is also in the main even picture - he will be teaming with Styles to close next weeks Impact, and has been running with Flair and Styles the last 3 weeks.
As to Kendrick, who cares? Really. The guy was just released by WWE, this is a case of you wanting him pushed simply cause YOU like him. No one really cares, sorry bout your damn luck. And yeah, Beer Money was downplayed, but that appears to have been part of an angle as they worked as heels last night, "tired of how they have been used." So move on.
As for the Machine Guns, who were misused long before Hogan got there, they are on the PPV card this month against Generation Me. So they have a spot where many others are left off.

Wow you can't read. I said in this thread what happened to the Pope being number one contender? now he's barely seen and Abyss is pinning AJ clean.
Wolfe was red hot coming in against Angle. He hasn't been used well since. Kendrick I was hoping would have a bigger role in the X Division but that doesn't fall on Hogan.
Machine Guns have a number one contenders match at the PPV. Will anyone care since they haven't been booked to look strong at all?
Finally Beer Money is back heel, so I can't bitch about that but they were barely seen for weeks. It's the Hogan and Friends show.

AGAIN, what part of my answer to you did you miss? He won the right to MAIN EVENT AGAINST AJ AT LOCKDOWN. That title match is STILL ON. He also was involved in the final angle of the show last night, and was involved with Flair and AJ the last couple of Impacts. What the Hell are you missing here??
Same thing with Wolfe. He has been helping Styles and Flair in main-event beatdowns the last couple of weeks. You are really dense sometimes.
Hogan can do whatever he wants, James. Ratings were stagnant. As to Hogans "friends" - no Nasty Boys last night. No Orlando Jordon. Sean Morley has already been released. So get over it.

TNA was good last night not great and RAW was Raw same old though I never get tired of Vince stacking the desk and enjoyed the gauntlet "match"(just like I love him kicking the crutch out from underneath Bret).....the rest was usual formula....bad Divas match and Bella, Hornswoggle, Santino Guest host antics with some filler...HBK - Undertaker was OK......TNA...Main event was what it was and was OK...though when Sting appeared you just knew he was going to hit Hogan......Flair is the man on the mic still..him going ballastic with Hogan's blood on his fists and screaming that he still owns Sting after all these years was classic.....Quesitoned the use of RVD but like Tom said it is a marathon and that will be forgotten quickly......Still trying to figure out the use of Hardy as he just appears and disappears and reappears again..gotta explain why he is involved..I can do without the Brooke and Bubba stuff though Bubba served a purpose yesterday acting as the concerned friend of Hogan..hopefully he will fazed down or out after this angle........I also would like to know why Wolfe has decided to run with Styles/Flair.....little explanation wouldn't hurt.......The BPs were the BPs..never get tired of looking at them and give me a BP match/interview over any Divas nonsense anytime....Also much to Grover's chagrin looks like the Nastys will probably be on next week as they were on the post match web show hinting you haven't seen anything yet wait til next week......Agree with Beer Money that was done as part of the angle and Angle with the Army guys was a bit over the top but I got a laugh at the army guys hitting Mr. Anderson with shots that were so over the top fake.....Just hope the Hogan / Flair in ring action is limited to a once in a while thing.
I would score last night TNA - 1 WWE - 0 but it wasn't like it was a pummeling or resounding knock out or anything like that.....

Thank GOD.
I don't mind Orlando Jordan, but Nasty Boys and Val Venis can fuck off.
What was REAL funny was the chicks at the bar who were with my friends getting really mad when the Knockouts came out, but then quieting down once my old coworker was like 'Oh shit!! She fucked her up!' once the wrestling started. LOOL! Then again that night, these chicks also said Scarlett Johansson was ugly and overrated, so I bet you can picture their faces as the Beautiful People walked out.
The customers were cracking up at Flair and Hogan. They would ask '...wait, is this live?' and then they would laugh hard that they were still going at it.

Thing with Hardy is probably simply that they were not sure if they should start using him with his legal wrangles over his head. He can still very well end up in jail. After the 4th, both sides got cold feet about having him work until things were settled, I think they have now just decided to go for it. Next week he will be wrestling.

AJ is defending against Abyss, I don't like how The Pope's shot got the back burner for this. He came out the night after Against All Odds, had a great in ring exchange with both Naitch and AJ, then got the beatdown. Awesome set up after becoming number one contender. a few weeks later the Destination X lineup says its AJ defending against Abyss and The Pope doesn't have a match yet. I think it's shitty how that was just forgotten, and "Oh he gets one down the line" is a lame excuse. Why have the set up after winning the tourney just to have him be a run in with Wolfe? Shouldn't the number one contender be featured more with I don't know, the world champ? I accept that's the way it is, but i think it's weak. It makes no sense to me.
And for what it's worth, I've been reading how some people think the RVD debut made him look weak. Just saying,

Hey, Idiot, I told you multiple times, Popes shot IS FOR THE LOCKDOWN PPV IN ST LOUIS! The April PPV! It was announced from the beginning! The Abyss shot is simply a throwaway! The original plan was possibly for an all X-Division PPV this month, which had been abandoned, but that is why the Pope's shot is (and always was) scheduled for APRIL!
I mentioned this twice already! Do you have Metssuckballs disease and simply dont read any posts that you did not type yourself??? Pay attention, I find it insulting that you keep missing this.
He's not getting one "down the line" - he is getting a shot at a PPV on the road, as IT WAS ALWAYS ADVERTISED, from the night he won the tourney.
Plus, if RVD marks want to think he looked weak after he was beaten down FROM BEHIND with a bat, thats fine. Its pretty much wrestling 101 there. What did they want, a 30 minute match with Sting that he won clean? Make the people pay for it, Im sure RVD and Sting will be locking up on a PPV....stupid to give stuff away all the time.
