Why would a Flair/Carlito match be on WM when we've seen it on Raw? I do like the idea of a unified tag team championship though.

We saw Flair and Carlito on Raw in a 4 minute prelude. And it was simply the start of what looks like is blooming feud, which may include a heel turn by one of the two.
And, this aside, its a match I would not mind seeing. When his mind is in the game, Carlito can put on a show. And Flair, old man body aside, is still Ric Flair at the end of the day.

your saying Ric Flair is NOT WM worthy? that s fuckin malarky Carltio may not be a Main eventer but a 10 minutes match in the opening hour if Mania with Flair, one of the true Greats would be worthy. then again you probly wanna see Boogyman and his midget or some other dumb shit

Ric Flair doesn't have a WM worthy feud right now. His Carlito feud is weak at best, and again, they've already faced off on Raw. Either Flair beats Carlito, or Carlito beats Flair, but in the end, no one cares.

Sancho, he's just looking for excuses so he doesn't have to shell out $50 to pay for the thing.
I mean, for Christs sake, its a FOUR HOUR show. There is room for a Ric Flair match on there, wether its against Carlito or Val Venis. I mean, for Christs sake, enough already.

Balls, you do know that if you go back to the AWA and even old WWF, Andre and Hogan fought a few times? That didn't really take the importance of their WM3 match did it?

I know that. But Andre and Hogan were hardly low to midcarders when they fought at WM3. We also didn't see them fight on TNT a few weeks before WM3 too.

That's because WWF didn't have three shows back then. They are marketing to a different audience than us, and making more money than ever.
Going into the show, the match may not seem like anything special, yet, you got a decent guy in Carlito and a legend who can still make anyone look amazing and turn a match into a classic in Ric Flair. So, since it's Wrestlemania, expect them to leave it in the ring.

Who gives a shit if these guys wrestled on tv or not?? The WWE puts on almost THREE HUNDRED HOURS of wrestling programming a year. Of fucking course these guys may have wrestled on the way to Mania!
Balls, if you cant take this stuff seriously, get out of this thread and let us enjoy the Goddamned show.

And that's not good logic anyhow. If that were a deterrent, then rematches would be boring.
Ya gotta look at it the right way, that's all.

Ric Flair v Carlito would like like a rematch between Tito Santana and Matt Bourne.
They don't need to leave it in the ring. They can leave it on Raw.
And because they put on 300 hours of TV a year, what's the draw for something you get for free?
WM needs to be different. And by different, I don't mean the exact same thing, but longer.

Well, not EVERY match needs to be different. If that was the case it would take attention away from the main events.
Besides, as much as I worship Flair, he's not top tier anymore. This is the perfect match to wet the appetite for the mian event matches.

you really think a 5 minute TV match on Raw would be the Same as on wrestlemaina? How would you book this show balls?

How would you book this show balls?
He has yet to answer this question, despite being asked it a dozen times. Quite frankly, he has no alternative ideas that would appeal to anyone.

At this point, this close, it's hard to set up.
But I like WM to be the culmination of rivalries, set up in advance. The McMahon/Trump thing is actually the best set up for WM this year.
What I don't like is to see similar matches that we see every week, or in the case of Carlito and Flair, the exact same thing, just longer.

Well Carlito/Flair in a pie eating contest would be different, but not necessarily good.

It would be more interesting than a 15 minute match that we could see on any Raw. So would an old fashioned pie fight.

Well, then it wouldn't be Wrestlemania, because Wrestlemania has never filled the show top to bottom with things you would not see on TV.
I don't understand where this "different" thing is coming from, when it's never happened. There's never been a Wrestlemania where everything on the show was totally new or unseen. Go back to the old Wrestlemanias and you'll see the British Bulldogs fighting the Hart Foundation, who had one of the best feuds, and even Steamboat/Savage was the climax to that feud. Remember, prior to that Savage hit Steamboat with the bell on his throat? What was so different between this years card and The Undertaker Vs. Giant Gonzales or Luger Vs. Mr. Perfect?

this is fuckin stupid.I anm convinced Balls knows shit about wrestling, or at the very least has a really shitty taste in wrestling. in other news, i got the HBK vs Hatt iron man match on now,and i gotta say this is the most scientificly sound match othet than HBK vs Angle. gotta give it to Shawn he really came into his own on WM XII

I have that Hart/HBK match on my agenda sometime during the week. A little prep for Mania. And yes, I agree, Balls knows nothing about wrestling.

I'll go into detail tomorrow about my thoughts on mania, but for now, HBK new champ April 1st. If him and Taker don't leave as champ, Vince is an asshole.

Nah, no way HBK gets the strap off Cena in the biggest event of the year. You will, however, see HBK and Cena probably put on the best show of the night. HBK is going to go all out to make Cena look brilliant.

The Hart/HBK Iron Man match was a snoozefest filled with rest holds and two egos that wouldn't take a pin.
As for the two title matches, I'm hoping UT and HBK take the straps, but I also don't see Cena dropping the belt.

Balls, you're a gaylord. That match makes everyones top 5 Mania match list, and you are on here disparaging it. Then again, you think Bundy and Hillbilly Jim and a handful of midgets is a Mania classic. Your priorities are screwed up.
Cena wont drop the belt. Put that out of your mind.

At least Bundy avalanching the Haiti Kid was more memorable than Bert Fart sitting in the middle of the ring for an hour refusing to take a fall.
You have something against midgets?

I hope they let Shawn take it at mania, keep it going till backlash and have Cena and HBK take the belts. Last year they put the magnifying glass on the underdogs, or at least the future of mania events. This year, pay homage to the past, the two longest tenured employees working for Vince. Give them their due, the crowd poped so big at the ruble if you put HBK one on one vs Taker at like Summerslam, that's money right there. Also, since all ppvs will have all 3 brands on it now, it gives more options to feuds.
Balls, buy an ugly tie, or just look on your tie rack and hang yourself with it. Frist I gotta read you bashing CM Punk, now, you go all the way to blashphemy and put down one of the best matches in mania history. You are a mark squared. How do you not love a wrestling clinic but spank on out to fucking horrible gimmick matches like battle royales. Douche.

I've actually liked the build for the Taker/Batista match. The spot this week where Taker intentionally threw Finlay at Batista, who was sitting ringside with the announcers, was pretty cool. This match is being crapped upon cause it lacks any finesse, but I think these two can put on a good hard-hitting brawl.
