If you see it in the theaters, dvd, vcr, or beta, discuss.
I last saw The Virgin Suicides. I f'n love this movie. It's directed by Sofia Coppola who we all know almost destroyed The Godfather series but she did great directing this and writing the screenplay. It's based on a book and I can't remember the authors name but it takes place in the 70's. A group of boys, who as older men, narrate the story of 5 teenage girls, who are isolated from the outside world by their over-protective mother. Slowly but surely, the girls grow tired of not having a life outside of school and one by one kill themselves. Well worth a watch.
Also check out my new favorite movie of all time, Requiem for a Dream.

Tonight I am slated to watch Bambi II. Being a Dad ain't all fun and games. I am sure I will be back with some sort of review.

All I know is I felt like a real idiot when I realized that at 4 I cried when Bambis mother dies in the first one. I later realized when I was 14 it wasn't all that sad that the animator stoped drawing a deer.

Some of you other father's will relate to this. I'm sure we all have kids who own movies that they insist on viewing incessantly.
I, for one, know that I can probably mouth the dialogue, along with the movie to a number of films including: Dumbo, Monsters Inc., any movie starring Hilary Duff, The Sandlot (ok, that one is mutually admired by the kids and myself).

James, you've been pretty funny today. Your line about Bambi's mom up above was pretty good, and your joke about Mac, his mom, and the Boston tea party was a classic. Well, as I teased earlier, I did indeed see Bambi II. Actually, I mercifully dozed through a good 15 or so minutes in the middle. One good thing was it was only an hour. I was expecting 90 minutes. My verdict? Thumbs down. I did not like the characterization, and the story was hackneyed. And the music was the absolute worst I have seen not only in any Disney movie, but ANY movie.

I was treated to Stuart Little 2 for the 50th time last night. At least there are some Yankee references in it, all in all 2.5 stars.

Saw "What About Bob" last night. First time for me. As you are all probably aware, I am notorious for never seeing anything. I enjoyed this film very much. I am not a Bill Murray fan per se, but I actually laughed out loud a couple of times, which is very rare in my cinematic perusings.

Tom, I remembering telling you to see What About Bob months ago. I'm disappointed that it took you that long. It's one of the many comedies that I can probably quote from start to finish. As for Bill Murray, I hope you've seen Stripes.

I remember never being a big fan of that movie. It was ok, but it didn't blow me away. But that said, I haven't seen it in a long time.

No shit? I guess everyone has one movie they haven't seen that makes other people's jaw drop. Mine: I've never watched Risky Business from start to finish -- only caught parts of it on cable.

I have a habbit of shocking people by not seeing certain movies that they would expect me, of all people, to see. The latest of these movies is The 40 Year Old Virgin... still haven't seen it. I also didn't see Napoleon Dynamite until a few months ago and finally saw Old School a few weeks ago.
Tom, you make me sad. However, I will let you slide because you are a fellow fan of The Jerk and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I have dozens. From Porkys to Platoon, to all the Terminator Movies, to Animal House and A Bronx Tale. The list goes on and on.
Not a movie guy.

How about movies that most people can do without, most people think are just ehhh, but WE love? Mine, for example, is Groundhog Day. Of all of the brilliant comedic work Bill Murray has done, nothing beats Groundhog Day imho. When I tell peope that, I get the face! BTW Tom - I've never seen ANY of the Lord Of The Rings Movies, and I don't plan to. I do however own the animated versions they used to show on TV in the 70s/80s.

I'm biased to Ghostbusters.
Ray: Everything was fine till dicless here turned off the protection grid.
Mayor: Is this true?
Peter: Yes it's true...this man has no dick.
And I can't forget Caddyshack. That's his best in my mind.

Both Ghostbusters and Caddyshack are awesome movies, especially Caddyshack. If we're on the subject of Bill Murray, Meatballs was also a classic.

One of the funniest scenes to me (I'm a fan of subtle humor...I guess....because no one else seems to find it as hilarious as I do):
Peter Vinkman walking around Sigourney Weaver's apartment, sqeezing a rubber bulb attatchced to some latex tubing and a long plastic rod....Sigourney Weaver asks, "what's that?"
Vinkman replies, "It's technical."
And here's another shocker, I've NEVER seen Caddyshack in it's entirety - only little pieces here on there when I've caught it on TV.

Caddyshack is a must watch. But I will say this - when I watch it, I realize its overrated. I think some people list it as a favorite movie cause its "hip" to do so. I saw the first Lord of the Rings movie, promptly dubbed the series "Bored of the Rings" and have not gone back, although my brother is pestering me all the time to give them a chance.

I've also never seen much of Caddyshack.
I LOVE subtle humor like in Ghostbusters. "No, we're exterminators. Someone saw a cockroach up on twelve. " "That's gotta be some cockroach. " "Bite your head off, man." By the way, its VENKman, not Vinkman.
And finally, on the subject of Bill Murray movies, Groundhog Day.

I don't think Caddyshack is overrated at all. You catch it in the right movie, and you will be laughing the whole movie. But I agree with Tom about Lord of the Rings. I didn't like it as much as a lot of others did. It took until the third movie to really get what they were trying to do, but I never did get into the story.

Caddyshack is one of the more popular movies because of the most of it was improved. So Chevey Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dagerfeild just winging it, how isn't it a classic?
One of my fsvorite lines from Ghostbusters is when Peter says," She's not my girlfriend, I find her interesting because she sleeps above her covers, 4 FEET above of covers. She barks she drools..."

It's a hybrid, a crossbreed. It's blue grass, Kentucky Bluegrass and Northern california Sensmilia. The great thing about this stuff is you can play 36 holes in the afternoon, take it home at night and get stoned out of the bejesus off this stuff.

how can you never have watched Animal House? ?? I've never seen all of napoleon dynamite, et, the "new" star wars, ghostbusters. Caddyshack is good for the one liners....... last time i saw a mouth like that, it had a hook in it.
