This show has jumped the shark.
Some will argue it happened years ago, but I have been a devout fan and I have enjoyed the show.
But this show is dumb now. This coming from its biggest supporter. I am now rooting for Jack to die.

Not quite willing to say it jumped the shark, but this is the worst season by far. They hurt themselves by getting rid of all the great suppoorting characters. Then on occasion they manage to bring back a great character and change them for the worse.
Whoever thought to kick Bill Buchanon out of CTU was a jerk. Makes me wonder if Marisol Nichols slept with a producer.

Once again, we're confronted with one of the bigger problems of this season of 24--too much personal drama.
I was very disappointed in the Heller cameo this year. Heller is the man. He should recognize that Bauer is the man.
If Jack knocked Audrey up, the male children that would come out of that womb would be the next stage in human evolution. The baby would pop out, hit the doctor back and his first words would be "holster your weapon!"
I've noticed a resemblance between Jack Bauer's nephew and the Ricker.
I was disappointed that the Chinese didn't kill Morris "The Drill Bit" O'Brian. He's such a whiny baby. Hell, he could have had a nice act of redemption there.
Milo has certainly made better decisions in his life. Kind of a lame ending to a character that was actually around in Season 1.
Edgar Styles had a much better death.
When Jack Bauer can't get to the bad guys, the bad guys come to Jack. That was good, because he needed to work off some steam by killing some people. He had gone over an hour without taking the life of a bad guy grunt, and this was just a gift from dear old dad.
The whole premise behind the attack on CTU was ridiculous though. How many times can that office be invaded before they beef up security? And how does Bauer's DAD have the ability to cut the cameras.
That shit wouldn't have happened if Bill Buchanon was in charge.
But why even bother shooting Milo but not Nadia? And why didn't at least one of them slap Morris "The Drill Bit" O'Brian around just for good measure?
I bet Buchanon would have found a way to let the Ricker know what's going on.
Anyway, enough. Time to update the stats. Jack killed 5 bad guys this week, his second highest total of the year. This brings his season 6 total to 30. Jack now has 165 career kills on the show. He actually is just 10 kills away from 175. He's certainly on pace to get his 200th kill at some point next season.
Jack still has to kill 13 more people to tie his single day record. With only 3 episodes left, he'll have to get moving. But even if he doesn't capture the record, he certainly has had a very respectable day--especially since he had a year and a half off.
But I guess killing people is like riding a bike.
Season 1: 10 Season 2: 30 Season 3: 14 Season 4: 43 Season 5: 38 Season 6: 30 =============== Season 6 episodes: 21 Season 6 KPH: 1.429 Total series episodes: 141 Total Kills: 165 KPH: 1.170

"But why even bother shooting Milo but not Nadia?"
Because they knew she was running the show and Milo was lying.

Sorry for the delayed recap, but I lost count on the number of kills, so I needed the website to update them.
What a great start to the episode. For the first time in a long time, Jack was not a guest star on his own show. Amazing how when there is more Jack Bauer, the show gets better.
When last we left, due to the incompetent leadership of Nadia Yassir, CTU had been taken over by the Chinese, and Milo had been killed. The Chinese had one agenda, kidnap Jack Bauer's nephew, who had just surrendered himself.
So now that the Chinese had what they wanted, they just wanted to leave. Just before the exit, Jack decided that although unarmed, a group of bad guys with machine guns was no challenge. He led a rebellion to save his nephew.
The humor was watching Nadia and Morris "The Drill Bit" O'Brian fight. When Morris was fighting, I'll admit, I was rooting for the Chinese guy. I just enjoy seeing Morris take a beating.
And just as the bad guys were about to get the upper hand on Nadia and Morris, BAM!!!!
THE RICKER!!!!
Reinforcements in tow, Jack breaks the leader's neck and goes after Josh. He recovers him and offs 4 more bad guys at the same time. Hopefully this will enable him to bang his smoking hot sister in-law.
Unfortunately, that was all the killing for Jack this episode, but 6 kills is pretty damn good! I was only disappointed because I thought there were more.
Is it me, or is it highly unlikely that the US would be so wimpy in a confrontation with the Russians? Daniels is supposed to be hawkish, and he cowers. Meanwhile, I can't imagine even the hardest of hard line Russians risking WWIII over that component.
If anything, an attack on US interests might make the US actually reach OUT to the Chinese, even involving sharing technology to fuck the Russians over.
But anyway, Lisa Miller is a dirty slut. Never trust a blonde on this show not named Bauer.
Meanwhile, why does Grandpa Bauer want to kidnap Josh so badly? And why not kidnap Kim? Because she's not on the show this season?
We have 2 hours left. Jack now has 36 kills on the season, and with 2 hours to go, is just 2 kills shy of his season 5 total, and just 7 kills away from tying his personal best 43 kills in Season 4. Jack certainly started off slow this year, but he sure has picked up the pace in the second half of the season.
Jack is also only 4 kills away from 175 career kills. Of course that means he has 171 career kills. By sheer coincidence, 171 is also my high bowling score. Not bad.
Here are the stats:
Season 1: 10 Season 2: 30 Season 3: 14 Season 4: 43 Season 5: 38 Season 6: 36 =============== Season 6 episodes: 22 Season 6 KPH: 1.636 Total series episodes: 142 Total Kills: 171 KPH: 1.204

The only way that works would be to set the story before Tony died on a different day. Either that, or they have to come up with some explanation as to how he could be alive.
It would be a hell of a return though.

basically that he wasnt dead that he was in a coma the whole time... bringing tony back would make having a low-par season 6 one of the best seasons leading into either season 7 or the "24 movie"

It would be huge, though in the future, please give a warning before throwing out a big time rumor right before the finale.
That said, it would all depend on how they use him. Don't want to see him a bitter jerkoff who now hates Jack and is a bad guy.

I really hope that happens. Bringing Almeda back form the dead a-la 'One Life to Live' would be the defining moment in this season, and would sum this season up totally.

Even rumors could have some warning. Grover's not being sarcastic. It would be a very soap operaish twist that would leave the show open to a lot of ridicule.
That's why I hate killing off good characters.
Keep in mind how much time passed between seasons. They could always bring characters back by picking a day before that character died to cover.

david palmer coming back from the dead would be even more far fetched..
from reading a few blogs i sense a chage of scenery is in the works for the next season as well as they realized the fucked up the show this season and the viewers were unhappy so the "24 team" seems to be pumped up to make season 7 no stop action and alot more of JACK since thats why people really watch the show, and not for all the politicial crap like this season has been about

This was the worst season by far, and definitely more Jack is very important. A big flaw was that they killed off almost all the great supporting characters. Chloe should NOT be the second banana.

I'm not being sarcastic. I didn't like last season, and I think this season is awesome in a Van Damme or Steven Segal movie sort of way, which means it's terrible and a joke.
The novelty of this show went out quick, I just kept up with it because it was still fun. But, it's no longer good, so I may just stop watching it.

Well, another season in the books, and the finale was ok but not great. Glad to see Cheng in US hands, though sadly, he won't be seeing the same treatment Jack got in China. I was not happy that they blinded the Ricker. He's a good character who has become almost a white Curtis. I think Curtis was a bit cooler, and neither one come close to the Tony Almeida level, but why give the guy a permanent injury? To use him effectively, he needs to be in the field. I did like his mistreatment of Morris "The Drill Bit" OBrian. What I didn't like was the Chloe being pregnant thing. Who really gives a crap? Hope she loses the baby--the whore. I bet Milo's brother is a spy--the whore. However, of note is the record selling killing achieved by our hero--Jack Bauer. Lots of explosions making it hard to figure out, but fortunately, we have bauercount.com, which did the work for me. Jack set several records tonight. He killed 13 people, which shattered the record of 9, late in Season 4. He also brought his season killing total up to 49, also a new record. Jack's KPH in Season 6 broke the 2.00 barrier. Now I know how America felt when Babe Ruth hit 60 HRs. Jack therefore killed 24 people in the last 4 episodes. An outstanding finish worthy of Mariano Rivera. So here are the final stats. Here are the stats: Season 1: 10 Season 2: 30 Season 3: 14 Season 4: 43 Season 5: 38 Season 6: 49 =============== Season 6 episodes: 24 Season 6 KPH: 2.042 Total series episodes: 144 Total Kills: 184 KPH: 1.278 Looking forward to his 200th kill next year, only on FOX!!!!

Uh, wait....are you giving credit for the oil rig to Jack because he didn't pull the trigger for those missles. That's a miscount.

No. If you're looking at the trigger, those are individuals that Jack killed before the missiles were fired.
Remember, I actually have a dispute with that site, who gives Jack credit for one kill that I took off the board.

Since 24 has become the equivalent of a Jean Claude Van Damme movie set as a TV series, it's Joe Neckbone production staff decided that they will try to tackle another real life issue, by casting a short haired, cherub faced, female president. Looks like someone thinks Hillary will be in office.
God this show blows. I can't wait for the laughs!

It gets worse!!! Los Angeles (AP) --Actress-comedian Janeane Garofalo is joining the cast of the Fox TV drama "24."
Garofalo will play an FBI systems analyst when "24," which stars Kiefer Sutherland as a counterterrorism agent, returns in January for its seventh season, the network said Tuesday. Janeane Garofalo? ??

That is a massive turnoff. They're trying to shake things up because they know last year was a decline. But I hate Garofalo.
