How could you guys not be talking about the Andy Reid story? His sons are all messed up. It was an eventful weekend for them a couple of weeks ago. Heroin, car accidents, and holding someone up at gunpoint. Here's the article:
PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles coach Andy Reid will leave the team for a month to deal with family issues, a decision that comes less than two weeks after two sons got into separate legal trouble on the same day.
The team said Reid's leave of absence will last through mid-March. Eagles president Joe Banner was to hold an afternoon news conference to discuss the matter.
Reid is also the team's head of football operations. If he does not rejoin the Eagles until the middle of next month, he will miss the NFL scouting combine and the start of free agency. NFL teams may begin voluntary offseason workouts March 19. Reid will be back for the NFL draft April 28-29.
Garrett Reid, 23, tested positive for heroin after he caused a traffic accident Jan. 30, police said. No charges have been filed, but prosecutors are looking at the case. Police have said he could be charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Britt Reid, 21, was arraigned on drug and weapons charges. He is accused of pointing a handgun at another driver following a dispute and faces a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a license as well as misdemeanor charges of lying to authorities, simple assault, making terroristic threats and possession of a controlled substance.

What a loser. Maybe he should have spent more time "coaching" his boys at home, than his boys on the field. Reid has always been a gag to me, cause he looks like 41. If I was the Eagles, I would consider cutting him loose. Missing a month of time, even in the offseason, is not a good thing. It screws with the program. What Reid SHOULD do is resign, and look to coach again once his house is in order. Looking at the condition of it, who knows when that may be. If I am the Eagles, I ask him to leave.

The Eagles have always been a turmoiled franchise. Whenever it's their time to shine, something happens to them and they come back down to reality. Their fans are even a bunch of a-holes. Doesn't their stadium have a jail beneath the bowels?
In other football news, Schottenheimer was fired by the Chargers. Another class act. (Kidding) I hate that dude. He should have gotten fired because he can't win a playoff game even with a team like the one he just had. I think there was a rift between him and the owner, but whatever. The guy needs to prove himself in the postseason, just like Parcells. Whatever, two coaches who's best years are behind them. Bring in the new breed.

This Pac Man Jones thing is just insane! What a scumbag!!!! I heard a funny line tonight on talk radio - "it took Pac Man Jones to make a strip club owner seem credible"
Apparently he punched a stripper in the face not once, but twice for violating the unwritten code of some game he plays with strippers at clubs that he frequents by prematurely touching the money he littered all over the stage. God Forbid a stripper touch money laying on the stage. Apparently a female member of his entourage broke a champagne bottle over a security guards head, Pac Man bit a chunk out of the ankle of the same security guard, Pac Man chased down the aforementioned stripper and punched her again, and then of course there was the shooting in which one of Pac Man's entourage pulled the trigger.
What a guy!

I work with a Pats/Celtics/Sox guy....he's ecstatic about the Randy Moss signing!
I told him that is a bad trade. They didn't give up anything for him, but that's going to be a trouble spot for them. Moss was able to fly under the radar on a shitty team that no one talked about - now he's back in the spotlight and he's going to implode on and off the field.
He is just flat out, a bad person.

Farewell to one of my favorite NFL players of all-time (from ESPN.com):
TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers fullback Mike Alstott is expected to announce his retirement Thursday, multiple Tampa Bay-area media outlets reported.
The team has scheduled a 2 p.m. ET press conference in Tampa, at which the retirement is expected to be announced.
The announcement comes after Alstott missed a third consecutive day of workouts Thursday as the team prepared for its exhibition opener Friday against the New England Patriots. His retirement is reportedly not injury-related.
Alstott, who was entering his 12th year with the Bucs, is the team's all-time leader in touchdowns with 71 and rushing touchdowns with 58.
He is second in team history with 5,088 yards rushing and third in scoring with 432 points.

I know I'm late. but congrats to Primetime, #88 baby. I'm glad he got in, but it should have happened last year.
Secondly, even though it's preseason, I love seeing a whipping on the defending superbowl champs. It's a good sign. And Romo, 10/11, 95 yards, 6 different recievers, 6-3 lead when the starters get taken out. fuck the Romo haters. How do you like them apples?

Uh, correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding the the moniker "Prime Time" belongs to the former owner of Dallas Cowboys jersey #21... the man, the diva, the myth, the fashionista, the legend, the Arena Football owner, the CBS Sports football commentator, the former New York Yankee...
He is one of the best, if not the best, cover cornerbacks of all time, and one of the greatest and most versatile athletes in recent American sports history... and THE only athlete to every play in the World Series and the Super Bowl in the same season... or score a touch down and hit a home run in the same week...
That would be my boy Deion Sanders... dude, who but a guy nicknamed Prime Time would come out of retirement for a year and wear his age as his jersey number, seriously!!!

I only heard him referred to as Neon Deion. Maybe on Marmac they call him Prime Time.
And way to have a wedding pic of Sanders'. That's just creepy.

Way to cheer when your quarterback went down in pain, and hobbled off the field.

Eli looked great, and Jacobs is out 3-5 weeks but if I was the Giants i'd rather have Reuben Droughns carry the load anyways.

Hey, folks, chime in - not who you WANT to win, but who IS going to win the Super Bowl this year.
New England, right? All cheating allegations aside.
Something going on at work, part of it is on nailing the Ultimate champeen. I am going New England.

I would have said San Diego until LT notched an impressive 25 yard effort.
That was ridiculous...Chicago defense or not.
Hey I know everyone has a bad game, but this was ridiculous. This was on par with John Starks holding Michael Jordan to 5 points or whatever that ridiculous number was.
I don't think, even in the days of Jerry Rice, that I ever thought there was a clear cut, by-far, "BEST PLAYER" in the NFL, until LT.
But anyway, back to the point: San Diego or New England. Next week won't necessarily push me in one direction or the other, but this will probably be THEE marquee game of the year.

San Diego was on my list too. In fact, I may pick them, cause I like them better than New England, and at least I would have a rooting interest if it came down to the two. I need my pick in before this weekend, so that game wont decide it.

The difference in defenses might be your deciding factor T. New England has a better defense, and if LT can be contained by a good D, then you may have your answer. Of course, with the deadline you're facing, whether or not LT's last game was a fluke would be pure speculation.

Out of SD and NE, if the deciding factor is D it's def the Pats. But the Chargers D isn't something not to take into consideration. Picking a Super Bowl pick, I'd say the Pats, their D can shut down most teams offense and they have too many threats and options on offense. Oh yeah, they have Tom Brady too. But if LT gets over the bad week lst sunday, and the chargers D gets into a good groove, they can beat almost anyone I think. But my pick would be the Pats if I were betting money.

I would pick San Diego in a heartbeat. Keep in mind, LT skipped the entire preseason and he still scored two TD's (1 rush, 1 pass). SD won 14 games last year and that was with an inexperienced QB. Now Rivers has a full season of NFL experience under his belt. The SD defense is definitely solid. Between Phillips, Castillo and Merriman (17 sacks in 12 games last yr), they can compete with anyone. New England is a great team, but if I was a betting man, my money would be on San Diego.
