It frightens me how much that banana slug resembles a roll I ate from a sushi place last week. I have to go upchuck now.

www.d3hoops.comBest Division III site on the internet, and so happens, they were doing an article on that particular game. NYU may have been classy, but they were robbed, and LVC should be ashamed.

Yeah, but, in all fairness, what did you want them to do? Give back the championship? Bad calls happen. This just happened to be a particularly bad one at the worst possible time.

Actually, giving back the championship would be the ultimate classy move--one that might have given that school national positive press. Bottom line--they didn't win the game.
I can't think of a worse call in basketball history. The NCAA should have looked into it as well. This isn't pro wrestling where the ref's decision is final.

Exactly--the winning coach is in a terrible position, no matter what division it happens with. You got your dream--a championship. But you didn't earn it. You really lost. It's kind of like when Jan Brady got the highest test score in the class, but then found out that Norah Coombs scored higher but the teacher added wrong. It was a tough call for Jan, but she did the right thing and made sure Norah got the award she truly earned.
1994 will always be considered the tainted title.

The lessons learned on the Brady Bunch do apply in real life situations. It's funny how I'm still bitter about this, but LVC was a rival of ours, and we DID play and beat those guys twice that year. While I can't say I hated them as much as I hate the Mets/Red Sox today, imagine watching one of those teams with a WS on something so horrid. There really isn't a baseball equivalent though.

I saw aphoto of Jan Brady recently, she didn't age well, she looked more like Livia Soprano than a hottie.

13-3 yesterday, and all my losses came from the South. None were getting past the next round anyway. Aiming for 16-0 today.

That's a shame about Jan Brady. As of the early 1990s, she actually was fairly hot. Oh well.
More important, tonight is the big night, as your 2009 Franklin & Marshall Diplomats square off against Richard Stockton (#6) in the Final Four. The game is so important, that it is being covered by our own Suzy, who was sent to Salem, VA by her paper.
The Dips have only got past this round once in their history, back in 1991, with a second place finish, and have never won a game in Salem.
Could this be the first? They are 7 point underdogs, but games are not won on paper. In 2000, their last trip there, the Dips almost shocked the world, narrowly losing to #1 Calvin on a BUZZER BEATER. Maybe the third trip to Salem will be the charm (previous final fours, including 1991, took place elsewhere).
Coach Robinson has his work cut out for him. Let's hope he can bring the title home.

Halftime report from Salem. Your Franklin & Marshall Diplomats are holding their own against #6 Stockton, as it is tied at the half, 26-26. Things could be better and things could be worse. I think the Dips blew some big chances to pull away with some missed shots and foolish turnovers, but the same can be said about Stockton, who was unbelievably cold.
What has me worried is that F&M is not a second half team, but 20 minutes to go. Winner plays defending champion Wash U tomorrow.

Sadly, the dream dies for F&M, as this young team lost a nail biter, 62-58. They should have won that game. They handed it to Stockton. F&M closes the season in the consolation game tomorrow against Guilford.
