Third protest in:
I protest this trade. I even mentioned it in my job and someone here threw out the word collusion not knowing any of these people.

Kill this. I protest.
Is Milton high, seriously?
I get the fact that Doumit is hitting almost .400 right now & there was a little news thing that he thinks his swing is feeling good and he's playing more... blah blah, but DUDE, he has had 68 at bats this year & Milton wants to trade two guys who start every day with 120+ at bats for this one bit player?
Normally I would not protest when you can pick better than all players involved off of the FA wire, but the 2-for-1 made me look twice & this is just flat out unfair.

I'm glad this one was killed so promptly, even if these two idiots tried to sneak it in over the weekend, figuring people would not be around. This was a horseshit trade. `

I just hate that Milton had to be saved from this. But that trade was just unbelievably unbalanced. Don't know that I've seen a more unbalanced one in any serious league in which I've ever played.
Some people are making a mockery of this league, and I really don't care for it.

Some peoples tenure in the league will be seriously revisited. We're going to have a few extra openings next year, I can promise that much.

You guys are unreal. For the record Milton proposed that trade to me. Of all the proposals that I have sent Milton I never asked for Paulino or Drew, and of all the proposals he has made to me he has never before asked for Doumit. Now that said, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ALL TRADES TO BE 100% EQUAL VALUE, there must be a reason why Milton made that trade, you will have to ask him because I don't know it (was he drunk ), but one thing is for sure, I doubt that Milton being in 3rd or 4th place has all of a sudden decided to give up players or help the teams in 9th, 10th and 11th place out. Why don't you ask him what his reason was (not before you kill the trade, BECAUSE I HONESTLY THINK THAT THE TRADE WAS UNFAIR) but maybe he has a reason. Maybe sometimes you feel that to get better at one position you may have to give up an extra player, Does he think that Doumit is better than Paulino ?? Ask him, but if he does and he thinks that Drew is going to ride his bench all year, maybe that is the reason. Tom for your info there were no "IDIOTS" trying to do anything on the weekend, the only "Idiot" here is you. Obviously that idiot has a very loose tonge (or fingers in this case)... For all we know the next transaction he makes Drew may be on waivers.....

I think Jose is right about several things. It's true not all trades are of equal value, and you should have the right to overpay if necessary. But there's a difference between overpaying, and throwing out an offer that no sane person would turn down.
There have been trades in the past that were protested out for no good reason. There have been protests this year for terrible reasons on trades that went through.
But I can't blame the league for reacting like it did. There were SIX protests on this puppy. A record. And they came pretty fast. I think that trade could have garnered 9 protests out of a possible 10.
There's a saying...little piglets are cute, but big pigs get slaughtered.
You can't blame Tom on this one.

Jose himself mentioned the trade was "unfair."
Case closed.

Were you the guy getting the benefit of that lopsided trade, and wisely said no to avoid the protest, or was someone trying to rip you off?

Tom' you are right 100% the trade as I said is "unfair", now since he was the one that offered the trade maybe he has a reason, maybe he is friends with the pirates manager and he has inside info, I don't know.
Again, I'm not challenging the fact that the trade was lopsided, JUST THE FACT THAT YOU THINK THAT WE ARE TRYING TO PULL SOMETHING OFF.... as it stands right now I have 2 catchers that have as many points as Paulino, and Drew will be on my bench with his 101 points.... so in a way I'm very glad the trade got vetoed...

I have an extra 3B who doesn't suck... does someone need one of those?

Why would I need them to play 3rd base when I have mr Lugo there ?? Who by the way has as many points as any 3b on your team ......

For the second time this season, Laura is trading Albert Pujols. But will the league allow it this time?
Here is the trade: Knoblauch gets Pujols and Álex Ríos Laura gets: Justin Morneau & Dan Haren
PROTEST 1: NO WAY THIS IS MY VETO !!!!
PROTEST 2: I protest.

Protest #4 is in, a text message.
I will not kill this trade at 4. I think that if you look at the numbers, based on this season, there's no reason to not allow this trade. Pujols may be the biggest name and the top overall pick, but Knoblauch isn't exactly giving up nothing. Laura is getting the reigning AL MVP as a replacement, and one of the best pitchers in the AL to date.
There is just a one point difference in fantasy production over half a season.
If two people in the league want to make this trade, they should be allowed to do so.
That said, one more protest and this trade is done.

I'll note that I am not vetoing. I think Knoblauch gets the better of the trade, but there's no way this is a vetoable trade. This is about the fairest deal for Albert Pujols I have ever seen...certainly fairer than what I was working on earlier this year with Laura. And she did about as well as she's going to do for trading a guy who you can almost NEVER get full market value for. Well done, you two.

this is why i hate this league. how can you veto this deal? i think the deal is about as fair as its gonna get with pujols involved. good job you guys.
my only concern is that morneau is injured with the rare bruised lung. who knows how he comes back from that (actually im not sure, he might actually be back from that!). but outside of his injury status. no problem from me on this trade.

I am also not vetoing this deal. In fact, I am very interested in seeing reasons from the four who decided to do so.
The ONLY black cloud is Morneaus condition coming off that collision. But protesters, grow some balls and explain yourselves!

Unfortunately, you have seen the reasons.
Protest 3 was over the phone, but Protest 4, from text, was verbatim to Protest 2.
With Tom, Larry, and Justin signing off on the deal, that leaves 3 people who could kill the trade. They have until 10pm tomorrow night.

Well, we can pretty much guess who protested this thing. Hopefully they will explain themselves a bit. This protest reeks of spite.

taken back? what kind of rediculous shit is this? what happened? once people spoke up about how fair they felt the trade was, they decided to not be an asshole?
