What, no discussion on Mr. Perfect? He's going in this year as well, so I hear.

Balls, you are so out of place in these threads with your corny jokes. You are like a fly at a picnic. Leave this stuff to the big boys, please, and go play in the Idol thread if you can't be serious.
As to Perfect, what a worthy addition. There has been a hue and cry to get him in for years now. He played so many roles well. A supreme technician in the ring, not too shabby on the mic, and very charismatic. Some of my favorite memories are memories of Curt Hennig. His AWA heel turn and subsequent stint with the title were some of my favorite young'un mark-out moments.
I just wish the WWE would get going on a Mr Perfect DVD box set, as they did for Flair and Rhodes, or even a smaller one like they did for Eddie and Benoit, and co.

I doubt there's too much interest in such a box set. I once heard a story of how in WCW, Mr. Perfect was waiting under the ring for some sort of run in/interference, and took a shit in a bucket.

You're wrong about the interest. WWE marketing has done their own polling (through magazine subscribers, website visitors, etc) and Perfect consistently leads every poll they make asking about future projects. That is why there is indeed one in the pipeline.
Also during his tenure, when it was cool to actually hate and not root for the heels, he was one of the top merchandise sellers.
His DVD would do fine.

I think the Curt Henning story would make a Perfect DVD!

Nice now that is a choice I love.........One of my all time favorites...The Devious One......Everytime Heenan or Gorilla would take about Mr. Fuji and money and how he liked taking the yen back to japan......I can't wait for the Mr. Fuji retrospectives on 24/7.....In addition to his matches with Saito and Prof. Tanaka.....

I agree, Fuji is a worthwhile pick. I have to laugh, though, at the way the insider fans frowned upon him as a manager, and voted him "WORST MANAGER" so many years in a row during the Wrestling Observer awards that they renamed the award "The Mr Fuji Award."
I have read in numerous places that Fuji was an all-time ribber, one of the best practical jokers in wrestling history. During Rick Martel's shoot he told a story about a rib that Fuji played on Mr Saito that had me laughing until I drained tears. I'll share it sometime, too long-winded to get into now. And it was good clean fun, so get your minds out of the gutter.
Fuji actually works at a movie theatre now, and does quick-bite movie reviews for WWE Magazine.

Word I'm hearing is that <<<<<<<SPOILER>>>>>
The Sheik, and not Mr. Fuji, will be the next inductee. they may both get in this year, but word is sabu will be inducting The Sheik this year. That's probably the only reason they're keeping Sabu around.
If fuji does get in, who would be the inductor? I'd like to see Muraco, but there's probably someone better for the job.

They'll both be in. Globix is correct in The Shiek thing. Funny how this intro by Sabu comes out at the same time as rumblings that Sabu has been in negotiations with TNA to jump ship when his contract with Vince runs out in a couple of months. Apparently both sides are ready for a divorce.
I know all about the Shiek, and have seen many bloody pics of him in action. He was a master of the foreign object, and the stab and slice. But I have honestly never seen that man in action. From all accounts, he hung around 15 years too long, well after the luster was lost. But he was a legendary figure, especially in and around the Detroit circuit.
Muraco would be a bad pick to induct Fuji. I dont know if its senility creeping in, or what, but i heard him on a wrestling radio interview a couple of years ago and to say he made no sense would be doing him a service.

from what i remember, the sheik was huge in detroit and also in canada...they always had great pics of him in the old wrestlings mags from the 70's...he was the master of carving heads with a pencil and also was known for throwing fire....and his feud with abdullah the butcher was legendary....one time in cleveland,im guessig around 1972-74,they had a card at municipal stadium, and i remember seeing pix of the 2 battling it out on the field...great stuff

I have no issues/problems with Sheik making it in. He has a legacy. I remember those same things you alluded to, especially those bloody mag pics. I am going to poke around YouTube and such, find some Sheik stuff. Also, I have Meltzers "Tributes" books, where his obit pieces on all these fallen wrestlers are, I am going to read what I remember being a long and in-depth profile of the Shiek again.

Kudos to Mr Fuji. Watching those clips last night made me realize he bought along more than i credited him for. I sort of enjoyed him, although he was a goof as a manager who offered little except for some sinister foreign comedic malice.
By the way, speaking of sinister comedic malice, Jerry Lawler will be inducted into the Hall of Fame by...................William Shatner! Balls, mark the date.

nice job picking Mr Fugi for induction......i remember fugi and prof. tanaka setting up,at that time, the match of the century....they held the WWWF tag straps and were facing WWWF champ pedro morales and bruno sammartino for the belts at a TV taping in PA....the devious one threw salt in the eyes of the challengers which blinded them, causing them to slug it out with each other setting up the classic battle at shea stadium which i believe took place in 1972

Well, unless you are willing to pay for it, you probably wont be "seeing."
Doesnt look like it will be telecast at all on USA this year, and will only be offered as a DVD Extra for the Mania release, and shown in a couple of months on 24/7.

It says a lot about you as a wrestling fan that it took William Shatner to be involved to get you interested. God forbid you would like to see some legends from the wrestling past get inducted.

It is with fond memories that I remember the countless times Mr. Fuji reached in his tights for that sack of "Fuji dust" to hit an unsuspecting tag team in th eyes whether it was Tony Garea, Chief Jay Strongbow or someone from the many other tag teams of the day....

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, will induct Nick Bockwinkel into WWE's hall of fame on 3/31. Steve Austin will induct Jim Ross, and William Shatner will induct Jerry Lawler.
Samu will induct his father Wild Samoan Afa. Sika's son Ro-Z (Rosey, now of All Japan) will induct his father, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. At this point, it appears the ceremony will not air on USA and will be broadcasted on WWE's web site.

And inducting Mr Perfect Curt Hennig.......WADE BOGGS!
Boggs was actually a longtime friend. Here is a statement he made....
"I met Curt in 1983 in Rochester, N.Y., and we became good friends, hunting and fishing buddies," Boggs told WWE.com. "In fact, he once saved my life while were were hunting in 2001; I got entangled into a barbed wire fence and was cut pretty badly. It took all the strength Curt had to free me and carry me about a mile back to the truck. He saved my life and has a special place in my heart; we spent as much time as we could together, and it's a shame he was taken from us so early."
"It's special for me to induct Curt," Boggs beamed. "I know the weekend I had in Cooperstown (when Boggs was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame), and I wish he was around to see his induction. He was so passionate towards sports-entertainment and was a tremendous showman. It's so fitting."
I am guessing Curt's Dad Larry will accept and make a speech in Curt's stead.
