I am expecting plenty of "low-jinx" with Mini Me scheduled to host and Dx due in "small claims court"

Jesse Ventura was outstanding on Raw. It was amazing how he slipped back into the role of announcer so well. If I remember right, last time he tried that, he was off his game. Not on Monday.

And he's bringing some "Santas Helpers" which may or may not being other Yankees. Either way, it will be one of the lower rated celeb guests as most of the country could give a crap about Johnny Damon.
Raw last night was TERRIBLE. One of the worst I can remember. I can not wait until January 4th, when TNA runs 3 hours live. Looks like WWE will counter with Bret Hart hosting Raw, its going to be a fun night of wrestling.

I thought the Tag match was an absolute gem. Way to screw over Jericho. Guess they start making the Tag belts mean something starting next week, lol. I don't care what year it is, to see someone go flying over a guy on all fours behind an unsuspecting asshole, funny every time. And the Tag Belts, more importantly, stay with the best team and faction in the history of pro wrestling. Other than, Raw was Craptastic. If it wasn't for us retaining our Tag Gold, last night would have been a total loss.(Yes I can say us, i was the first DX fan ever, back on October 13th, 1997)

Btw, I also want to make it known if it's made official, Mania 26, Taker/HBK 2, I'm making the official thread to the end of the Undertaker's stupid streak. Because before last year, Taker had never beaten HBK. So Shawn was spot on when he said most importantly, Taker knows HBK can beat him. He ended Naitch's career, he ends Taker's streak this year, last year is not happening again, but just the thought got me really into, I would love a rematch.

I think HBK ending Taker's streak would be terrible. That streak, at minimum, should hit 20. HBK ending it would be a yawner.
I agree though that the tag match with Jericho was well done. In fact, it was the only thing on Raw that didn't suck. Tom is spot on--I don't remember the last time there was a Raw that bad.
Everything fell flat. I don't know if it was Dennis Miller or not, but Miller's humor doesn't work with a WWE crowd. Some of his lines were somewhat amusing, but the crowd's dead silence just made things worse.
All celebrity guests are awkward. The only good hosts are the ex-wrestlers. But wow this Raw was bad.

Am I the only one who enjoyed JeriShow's run with the tag belts? I knew Dx would win them but I am not too happy about this as they will be made to be more of a joke where as I thought Jerishow brough some credibility.....

Are you kidding? I thought Jeri-show were the best tag champs in years. They had a nice long run with the belts, and the WWE is better with Jericho on both shows. I think Jericho on Raw means more than DX on Smackdown.

so is tonight gonna be a throw-away show like last week or will they do anything to build up to the 1/4 Hart hosted Raw going head to head with TNA??Gotta Figure Cena s gonna take the belt back. but does he really need it?? they can make Sheamus a bit more creditable with a clean win, but that would make sense right?

I agree Cap, in that regard.
I have to say, the Hart build had me very intrigued and into it yesterday. I am still going with TNA next Monday.....but for once, while HBK and Vince were mulling it out, I was hanging on the words, the angle.
Im still worried reading Hart has "good days and bad days" and may simply lose his train of thought on live TV, and he can in no way take any bumps....but this could work out alright. Pretty sure I know where its going, but wont spoil it.

Groan and groan again. I had heard the "guest-hosting concept" would probably be dropped after Stone Cold Steve Austin hosted on the 15th, but not only is it being continued, but I read the WWE is looking for guests to host as far down the line as August.
The next host after Austin, and on the Raw preceding Mania? Pete Rose. While it will be amusing to see the Rose / Kane feud continue, I am so tired of the guest host concept, and think it takes the whole show for a tumble.

I think it would be fine if guest hosts were mostly ex-wrestlers, who are used to cutting promos and have some connection with the crowd. Usually those are the best episodes.

But thats not the purpose of the guest hosts. The guest hosts are there for mainstream attention - ESPN moments, clips on Access Hollywood and things like that. Also to parade to potential advertisers, to show off how "mainstream" they are.
Ex-wrestlers need not apply.

Ugh....and speaking of which....
WWE will be looking for laughs the night after WrestleMania 26, as they announced today that the cast of the upcoming "Hot Tub Time Machine" movie will be guest-hosting the March 29 Raw.
WWE is advertising appearances by Rob Cordry and Clark Duke from the new movie, but not the more-recognizable John Cusack and Craig Robinson, who plays "Darryl" on "The Office."
THE NIGHT AFTER MANIA! Do we really need this crap??? I hope Impact is live that night.

I don't think ex-wrestlers are pointless in the role because they do the best job. You still have the nostalgia factor. Where it fails is when you have celebrities that don't belong. For every Shatner and Bob Barker, there are 10 Dennis Millers. Sometimes they even have celebrities that I have never heard of. WTF? That's no different than one of US doing this.
If the guest host isn't good, they shouldn't have a guest host.

Balls, you are missing the point, and all of this is flying right over your head.
The guest host concept seemingly is not even about good tv, or chemistry with the host. Its getting eyeballs on the screen. Bottom line, the ratings with these wretched guest hosts are BETTER than they were without them. Thats the bottom line, case closed.
Mainstream people are NOT going to tune in to see Sgt Slaughter or Ted Dibiase host Raw. They ARE tuning in to see the guest hosts. "Bad" guest hosts are not causing them to change the channel, or not come back the next week.

I did not watch TNA yet...I will do so in an hour or so..best Raw in a while last night (even though most of the major outcomes were pretty predictable, they were enjoyable nonetheless)...Wrestlemania heating up nicely though I was surprised SCSA was not more involved in the show..pretty much just at the beginning and end......

Raw was ok. Im just covered with dissapointment over the whole Vince / Bret thing. I think its been badly bungled. Oddly, just read this week that Brets run will not end at Mania, he'll be sticking around. Perhaps something with the Hart Dynasty?
As to Austin, he himself made it clear today in a Twitter post of all things...he was really just there to not get in the way, promote "Damaged" or whatever it was he's in, and to let the Mania push / angles take centerstage. He made a point that if he ended up "stunning everyone" it would have become the Steve Austin show, and this is not the time....Mania is coming.

What I didn't like was the announcement of the three way between Orton, Rhodes and DiBiase seemed like an after thought.....Yeah I didn't expect SCSA to stun everyone but he was not seen much backstage and the like...It almost seemed like Cheech and Chong got more air time...
