BILL GOLDBERG could be the next wrestling great from the past to return to the ring, as he considers a contract offer from WWE. The former WWE and WCW world champion confessed the move on his Twitter account — adding that he had not been approached by rival firm TNA. Bill told his followers: "YES.. I am in negotiations with the WWE. Looks like 'ole Hogan and TNA missed the boat. Shame for the fans they didn't even try. He added: "Truth is I never thought I'd even consider it... then came my son. "No one said I'd wrestle but the door is open again." The move will come as a shock to fans. Goldberg — who memorably had a 173 match unbeaten streak in WCW — has gone on record many times saying he hated his 12-month run in Vince McMahon's WWE between 2003 and 2004. Just last year, when asked if he would return to the ring, he commented: "Indies I would do in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't work for Vince McMahon if he was the last motherf***** on earth." If Goldberg were to return it would leave The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin as the only two legendary active names not in the business today. Hogan, Ric Flair, Mick Foley and Kevin Nash are all in TNA, while Bret Hart recently returned to join Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in WWE. From all accounts if Goldberg does come back its to promote some stuff, and set him up for a 2011 HOF induction in Atlanta. And if he does wrestle, it will very likely be "one last match" at Mania next year. So he has been helping to mislead a bit, its not like hes coming in for a long feud with Batista or anything.

Wow. Can't think of a wrestler of that status I'd less like to see.

I always hated Goldberg. I never thought he deserved the pushes he got. I remember he used to talk about how many great moves he had in his arsenal that he never used because he was able to do what he was doing and didn't need to break out his good stuff. WTF?
It always felt that they could create a Goldberg out of anyone. Hell, stick Sancho in the ring, and just tell every wrestler to job to him. Instant monster.
Even the spear isn't that impressive a move. Anyone can do it--especially when sold.
About the only thing good about Goldberg was the emergence of Gillberg. One of my favorite lines of all time (though I don't remember if it was Ross or Lawler that said it) was "the streak begins! Gillberg is 0-1!)
And one of my better memories was at MSG being in attendance at Wrestlemania when Goldberg and Lesnar got booed out of the building.

Well, you guys can keep downing him, but what he did worked. He was the right guy at the right time. He blew the roof off of buildings. And sorry, you can not just make a Goldberg. Kozlov had a similar gimmick when he came in.....did he become Goldberg? Sorry, I am no Goldberg fan, but lets be real, the guy played his role to a T.
There are rumors Goldberg has been spotted in Phoenix, site of Mania.

Did it really work? He was over in WCW, when the ratings hit the toilet. He never really did that well in the WWE. Kozlov did not have a Goldberg like gimmick.

Goldberg was never over in WWE cause he was miscast. One of his first appearances he was backstage with Booker T and Goldust and Goldust put his blonde wig on him. Its commonly bandied about in wrestling circles how WWE bought him in and "took his balls away" as it were, and did not even try to capitalize on what got him over in WCW, possibly cause he was not a Vince creation in the first-place.
Goldberg got over when WCW was still beating Raw. He was one of the lesser reasons WCW failed, if he was one at all. If anything, when WCW turned him heel that did not get over, cause like when Austin became a heel in WWE, the fans crapped all over it.

The Austin hell gag was funny for a while. Very funny. Remember him hugging Vince every few seconds? And singing songs with Angle to win Vince's affection? LOL Those were fucking funny.

Austin got himself over with the fans. He also was a hell of a lot more talented than Goldberg.

Wrestlemania, more often than not, is a disappointment. But that said, for whatever reason, the first Raw AFTER WM is usually very good.
I'm up to where Sheamus attacked HHH so far, and again, it's a good Raw. I saw the brief clip of Hart shouting out his brother on Monday, which was awesome, and I'm sure the HBK farewell speech is going to be great as well.
Will watch more tomorrow.

Well, expect a hodgepodge Raw tonight, with a Smackdown sort of bent, as most of the Raw crew was still stuck over in Europe as of yesterday and wont make it in on time. If all goes right, they would be landing in the US halfway through Raw. So, who knows, maybe they will do a Smackdown themed Raw, and a Raw themed Smackdown.
Again, Ill be watching TNA 8-10, then buzzing through Raw afterwards.

Oh yeah, I forgot about them. Uso Brothers I think they were called?
I like it. I hope they are good grapplers. Samoan tag teams are a wrestling staple.

Ok, so I really enjoyed Raw last night. Once again, and this always stops and starts, a concentrated effort to push the newer and for the most part younger talent.
Evan Bourne had the rocket strapped to his ass, teaming with Cena in the main, and having a highlight moment to close the match. This is a long time coming. Im not as big a Bourne fan as most, but he has his following and this can be really good. R-Truth pinned Jericho, clean. Ive always been a Truth backer. Again, fresh faces in the mains.
I very much enjoyed the Usos, though Snukas daughter is as ugly as stone. The Usos had a fun promo, and they look like they can move around that ring. Their matches with the Hart Dynasty should be fun battles.
And the whole Daniel Bryan / Cole / Miz scenario has me agog. Ive enjoyed all of it, and last night was a good touch to the feud.
So yeah, I was happy with Raw last night.

Oh, and Vince returned too, after some rumors that the annihalation at Mania at the hand of the Harts was the write-off of the Mr McMahon character. I didnt buy that for a second.

So a real shitty Raw ends on huge high note with the big beat down by the NXT guys. Did you guys like the angle and do you think it has potential going in the future? Let's no forget. some guys can talk, some guys can work but as a whole, can they deliver in matches? And, does anyone think Cole had anything to do with it seeing as he just bolted and King and Striker took some shots? Is a double swerve with Brian Danielson and Cole?

I turned Raw off the second Hornswaggle was given a shot at the Harts with Khali. I can fastforward on the DVR and get the gist later.

Well, I have not seen this show yet, but read all about what is being called one of the greatest angles on Raw ever, and the horrible show preceding it. I have this on the DVR. I was watching the baseball draft last night. This is probably 1 of under 20 Monday nights since 1993 that I did not see any live wrestling.
If Cole is going heel, Im thinking its more a "he grew respect for Bryan along the way" than a trick this whole time. I hate the "tricks the whole time" gag. Im looking forward to seeing this angle for sure, the feedback has been excellent and im intrigued.
Have to wonder if the 8 NXT guys are going to be working the main shows, at least for the time being, if other heads need to role to clear some headspace.
BTW - reading these "A-Team" bits is making me throw up in my mouth a bit. What a mess.

Everything was horrible last night except for last match and the angle after. I also think Jericho or Miz could be the mastermind behind this, Regal maybe as a dark horse possibility, but either way, you automatically want to see what they do with this. But I'm not joking when I say you won't be missing anything FF right to the end to see the beat down. You won't miss anything worth watching or anything that has to do with the stuff at the end. It was one of the most surprising things I've seen since the 90's. At first it looked like they were gonna bury Wade Barrett already by having him cash in soon on Cena and lose. No, we get that, it was cool. Bryan Danielson really stood out too choking out Justin Roberts, spitting in Cena's face screaming,"You're not better than me". I fucking love him already, I love the chip on his shoulder making no bones about it, he's a better wrestler than most the guys on either show. Maybe it's a heel thing or how I grew up on wrestling liking the small guy who works his ass off and is just awesome. But that confidence sticks out to me, I love seeing shit like that. Cause it isn't I'm this and that and i'm going to do this to you. It's like I'm gonna prove myself so take notice or you're gonna miss it, it's fucking money in my book. But every guy looked strong here so it was the only saving grace of an otherwise shit-tastic Monday Night Raw.
