Interesting couple of days for some of my favorite female grapplers.
First off, "Natalia" Neidhart. Balls, you must have enjoyed seeing some old-school footage of Daddy Jim. Oh, wait, you dont watch Smackdown...
Man, Nat has a DEEP voice. Very, eh, manly. She actually looks very butch in her WWE guise. She came off a bit more feminine in a lot of the stuff I saw. I remember when she was first making the rounds and people were commenting on how much she looked like Jim, and that was sorta creepy, when you would see her "model" sort of shots.
People are STILL mistaking her for Beth Phoenix, which makes sense, as they are built the same way and have the same sort of menacing persona for now. But geez, that voice is husky.
And then we got Raisha Saied. I will never manage to spell that right. I am glad to see she got some good reviews for her in-ring action last night on TNA, she is better known as my favorite female grappler, Cheerleader Melissa. The outfit has to go, the stupid hood and burka, there is a reason no nefarious "foreigners" ever tried to wrestle that way. But she did a good job, and I was happy to see her in in-ring action (even though you could not tell it was her, or anyone else under that costume)

I like her too, I thought she was fine. Not standout but good enough. And here's hoping she ditches the glasses and goes blonde again.

I dont see her going blonde, she was never blonde before she showed up in the TNA stands and they wanted her to stand out so much. She'll probably go back to being drab old Rain.

Oh, Happy Day! Not only are 2 new Knockouts slated to debut as soon as this coming Impact, one of them is reputed to be former WWE Developmental talent (and personal favorite) Shantelle Taylor. Taylor was in the first SHIMMER match I ever watched (came first on the DVD, it was the opening match of the debut taping) and I was hooked from there. A very good wrestler, although who knows if her fairly new breast implants will get in her way. She was doing some high-flying in her WWE work, and was rumored to come in under a hood and wrestle guys, before a big reveal where she would turn out to be, gasp, a woman! Some did not like her look although I think she looks fine, and others insisted that she was way too small. She is pretty tiny, that much is true. But if she does debut, the TNA division got that much hotter, that much more on point. Here's some Shantelle for you that are unversed...

BOOOO the implants. Bad move, dummy. She was really hoping for that WWE gig to get her tits bigger.

I think she was also concerned that she was flatter than Funaki. But it was a shame to see vanity get in the way, she was so athletic and I cant see her doing her moveset with the boobs in the way. But if you notice, since she did the implants she came out of the proverbial shell and started with the modeling shots. Here's a funny one, she is actually in a recent WWE Magazine as the "Hottie Fan of the Month" or whatever that thing is. She was "Shantelle M" and there was no mention of her WWE developmental run, which had ended by that point.
Some of her stuff must be on YouTube, if you are looking to see what she could do in the ring outside of the gifs above.

I was afraid TNA was going to do this...from last nights TNA tapings, as printed on the Observer site.
Jim Cornette announced the singles wrestlers in the tag tournament with blindly drawn partners that won't be announced until the PPV ht will be Sting, Matt Morgan, The James Boys, Awesome Kong (played up big), Booker T, Robert Roode and James Storm
I dont want them putting Kong in there with guys. Kong is awesome, but I dont want to see Chyna redoux. I dont like the girls and guys mixing it up (although Madusa vs Evan Karaigous (sp) in WCW a few years back was entertaining cause Madusa was seducing him during the match and they had basically a sexual ballet before she tricked him into a pinfall)
HOWEVER - one really good piece of news out of the tapings was out of a dark match - SHIMMER mainstay Daizee Haze "debuted" and lost to.....CHEERLEADER MELISSA! Yes, Rayesha Said OUT OF her Arab garb.
If they get Melissa out of that gimmick / costume, and bring in Shantelle Taylor and Haze on top of what they already have, TNA will become my favorite promotion ever.

Sancho, you and I had talked about WSU, and bandied about the idea of checking out their DVDs. Talent like Mercedes Martinez, Alexa Thatcher, Becky Bayless - Hell, even Sunny stomps around their shows. Well, Dec of Independants is running a $7 sale on all their stuff, and other stuff on the site as well. Here is a link for those inclined. I am going to order a handful. Sale is only through tomorrow, May 1! www.declarationofindependents.net/doi/pages/wsu7dollarsale.html

So its OFFICIAL. Cheerleader Melissa has debuted for TNA. Yes, CHEERLEADER MELISSA, and not Raisha Said. I am reading both that she will be doing "double duty" and also that this may be the incarnation in which she will stay. I did not see the match yet - I DVR to watch over the weekend, but the normal sites are marking out for the match. Melissa is that good at what she does. She grappled Daizee Haze, beat her clean in 3 minutes (your going rate for a Knockouts match on TV) Here's Melissa from said show.

So its Roxxi who gets the shears last night, in the convuluted match which ended with a Knockout "shaved bald." While I am surprised, she must have been angling for short hair anyway, I am sure this was something all sides were cool with.
While her hair looked rat-a-tat-tat (see my sig, for example) it was not her normal do, and she, from most accounts, had a nice head of hair. I have seen it done in many different fashions, its not like it was a lost cause.
She has been getting a good push, and is a Hell of a worker, so this is actually probably a good thing for her.

All it did last night was make her more over. But kudos to the beautiful people for heling it up and making it eaiser for the crowd to get being Roxxy. Also a lot of the knockouts seemed really upset about her getting shaved. Angelina Love was good in her role of not wanting her head shaved so it made sense to have her help Gail. Also, they did a good job of turning AJ Styles last night, teaming with Super Eric and getting screwed by Hector and LAX will make it eaiser for guys to get behind him in his feud pending feud with Angle.
And here's hoping Kurt isn't out long, the main event dropped a lot after Angle was replaced. I like Kaz, but Joe can't carry Steiner yet. I also liked the teased Nash turn. Kev was funny when he turns to JB and said about Joe, "That's someone you press assault charges against".

Yeah, from all accounts she came out Gold over this. And The Beautiful People play that smarmy heel to a T. Styles has a LOT of rebuilding to do. He has been a goof way long. Oh, and I suspect bad news regarding Angle. Neck problems are never a dance through the park. By the way, he is losing too much weight, he looks like a wispy ghost.
The Nash turn is being foreshadowed a while now. His faces at Joe during the promos, the creepy way he stands there and watches from the shadow, innocent statements like, "show me how to get out of that sleeper, Joe." - maybe TNA will throw us a curve and have Joe turn on Nash first.

The thing with Styles is, he's so fucking good it won't take long for him to be a credible threat. And I could see him be that tweener who can be cocky, arrogant, crack some jokes but go out and tear it up in the ring. I don't wanna use the term, degenerate, but he could be that kind of character who make some pervy jokes but still be a big threat for a championship. His exchange with Angle was good, it was coy, he had a joke in there, but you never had the feeling he couldn't hang with Angle if Kurt decided to headbutt him. But with Angle hitting the shelf now, I guess that feud is on hold, part of the reason they may have really set the wheels in motion for a Nash turn.
I'm thinking more than likely, Joe is going to feud with Tomko next, althought no one has survuived King of the Mountain as champ so who knows. If they kept Styles a heel, I'd feud him with Joe right away.

Tomko is not in good standing. He's suspended, due to some conflict over him going back and forth to Japan on what TNA is feeling is their time.
As to Styles, where are you getting "pervy and degenerate " from? He plays a square. He is the gentleman to Karen Angle, he is a goodie two shoes. I dont see that part of things changing.

I know Tomko's got in house heat, but he's a good heel for Joe to beat up on for a month or so. Not to say he has to get a run with the belt, job him out to Joe who they're abviously really behind and pushing hard.
As for Styles, I could see him as that kind of guy, like a HHH circa 98 or 99. He hasn't shown any of that, but he has that feel sometimes that he could really turn it on when he doesn't want to be so dorky. He can be funny, so if he's saying the right thing, why not?
I find it funny some people are bitching about Kaz in the kain event last night. These are the same guys who want to swee young guys get elevated and while last night may have not been the best example of that, Kaz didn't look bad or out of place, and the match was still good. But people are bitching it was too much like an Indy main event? Right, with Steiner in there. Plus how are the younger guys like EY, Styles, Joe, Kaz, or even Punk for that matter going to get better or become main eventers of the future without getting their feet wet in the main events now? Fucking cynics, just be happy Kaz didn't bomb an fuck up his chance.

Is that from a Tough Enough or a RAW DIVA thing?
Theres an old DVD floating around of the initial Raw Diva contests with some arcane footage of our old friends. I may make a grab at it.

Ok now I'm torn, do I like Gail Kim or the Beautiful People more?
For the record, I think they need to keep Gail Kim and Kong going, they need to establish Roxxi more and Gail Kim and Kong have way better chemistry then Kong and ODB.

The Beautiful People are the best heel tag team in professional wrestling. What an act.

I gotta agree, they get a shitload of heat and well deserved as well. I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes when they were taunting Roxxi while she was getting her head shaved. I'm also considering writing a letter to Hef demanding Velvey Sky in Playboy cause I have a feeling what I picture in my imagination is nothing close to real thing.

So I was thinking the other day with the way WWE is showing more and more diva stuff it an obvious effort to give the Knockouts competition, a few things occured to me. Michelle McCool is way better in the ring than a while ago, very fast improvment. And of course Natalya is good, move them to Raw so the Womens title picture has more than just Mickie, Melina and Beth. And I got a dream matchup I would pay PPV price just for the one match, Beth vs Kong. That would be a fucking 6 star match.
And they did a good job with Roxxi on TNA this past thursday, but she need to have more personality, maybe some mic time, I don't see how anyone will really care about her going past getting revenge on the Beautiful People. I'm glad Angelina Love got a win over ODB, Velvet Sky needs some wins under her belt so this team is really feared and taken as a serious threat, not just the typical heels. They get so much heat, not having them get wins and be a top act for the knockouts is stupid.
BTW speaking of Beth, a while ago I saw a pic of her on WWE.com in Alaska or something. She wasn't all done up in Glamazon makeup and garb and was really fucking hot. I havn't been able to find other pictures like that, that show off her natuaral good looks. Can anyone tell me of websites that might have some or even post some pics here? It's too bad they won't do a crosspromotion Diva vs Knockout cause Beth vs Awesome Kong would fucking rule.
