I hope it gave him some humble pie, because he is nuts.
Blue Lou was telling me at the parade that he heard mumblings from some coach (I forget who) talking about how coaches would discuss getting Shockey the ball early so he would not turn into a lunatic. That's not something you need on a team.

Sigh. I got stuck buying the Daily Snooze this morning, as the gas station did not have the POST on hand. So I read where they are sponsoring a contest to "name the David Tyree catch." Yeah, name the catch. Anyway, here are the "favorites." Can you imagine the ones that did NOT make the cut?
"The Hail Manning"
"The Tyree Squeeze"
"The Hat Trick"
"The Patriot Missile"
"The Eli-menator"

Those are awful. Admittedly, I can't think of a good name for the play at all, but those are just awful.

None of them are really that good. Of those 5, I guess Hail Manning or The Hat Trick are best suited. But I just think it should be called The Tyree Catch.

On Dan Patrick they were calling it "The Imperfection Reception" - an ode to the G-Men spoiling the Pats perfect season.

Why call it anything?

Why call it anything? ======================
Because it was a very well known catch/play and it is historical. I don't think it needs a catchy name like "Immaculate Reception." It was a hell of a catch, very arguably the best catch in Super Bowl history. And it will be talked about for years to come.

Word on the street is that the Giants are going to be trading Jeremy Shockey to the Saints before the NFL draft.

"Posted by Chris on Feb 8, 2008, 1:19pm Screw Shockey! Dump him and lets roll with Kevin Boss." No one is talking about this? Boss is in, Shockey out! I couldn't be happier that Shockey is gone.

That's ok Knuckles, this is a place where you can talk Giants football. And if people want to talk Giants football with you, they are welcome here.
You should know that my Giants jersey, bought the day before the Super Bowl, is still undefeated. I wasn't wearing it the game they lost.

Knuckles, please calm down. Someone of our body size can't get agitated. How did that procedure go?

I will be wearing it on Sunday. Hopefully the 6-0 jersey will not fall to 6-1. Given the hefty cost of that jersey, I want to wear it as often as possible, but only when the Giants are playing.
