Tom's not the only one who loathes 1 man teams, or even 2 man teams.
Way for the Cubs to win 97 games, then go 3 and out to a team that only won 84 games. Dicks.

Cubs are gaggers. It'll be another 100 years for them.

I really don't get it. How the hell can a team not win for a CENTURY?
Curses or not, they have free agency, and it's not like the Cubs are poor.

These first two games haven't even been decided by dumb luck, or fluke plays, or Bartman-type stuff. They've just gotten their doors blown off. Wow.

Cubs stink, really didn't see this coming. Certainly never saw it being this one sided. When the fuck did the Dodgers pitching start pitching?
I like a Phillies/Dodgers NLCS, and watch out for the fucking Rays, you're a bad ass team to win the Al East and they're not fucking pushovers like people thought.

I liked the Rays when the were the league doormat and no one else cared. Tampa fans are the biggest fair weather fans ever. I'm sick of their stupid cowbells, I'm sick of their rayhawks.... but I hope they win it all, 'cause I've been watching this turd for 5 years now.

The Cubs lost because the Dodgers are hot, and they are better than their record indicates. Put Manny and Blake on that team all year, along with a healthy Furcal, and this is a 90+ win team easy. The trades they made put them over the top. They are better and proving it, and quite honestly watching them play I think a series between them and the Phils would make for a better NLCS for us Baseball fans.

But it's not just that the Dodgers are hot--it's that the Cubs are playing like pure shit.

That is also true. That series is over. I'd be shocked if the Cubs even mount something close to a comeback.

The way the Cubs are playing right now, I don't think they could beat the Mariners in a short series.

Well, the way the Dodgers look, I wouldn't be surprised if they win a hard fought NLCS and end up in the series. They are playing that well. They didn't squeak past the Cubs, they went into Chicago, a team with a sick home win-loss ratio this year, and dismantled them.

Tom actually had the Butthead hairdo that was popular when that picture was taken. It's an awesome shot.
I guess this thread can be put to bed and an LCS thread can be started. Nice that 2 of the 3 teams I wanted to lose, won.
We're headed for a Boston/LA series, with Boston winning. It's the least desirable result. It has to happen.

Willits needs to keep that ball in the park. That should have been a single.
Now, while I won't come right out and say Willits blundered, the fact is that this is one instance in which a lazy dick like Bobby Abreu would have been beneficial.
Willits plays that ball for a single, I have no doubt the Angels get out of that inning.

Surprised no one has made mention of Scioscia 's suicide squeeze call.
I thought this was a BAD BAD call.
Runner on 3rd one out, why the squeeze? With the squeeze you have 1 potential successful outcome...just one.
Aybar is a decent enough contact hitter. If you let him swing you expose yourself to more potential successful outcomes: ground ball up the middle, ground ball to the right side of the infield, a base-hit, or a fly ball ALL score Willits.
That was a bad call from a usually competent manager.
