Domi and I were boiling at my bar. Seething.
Un-fucking-real.
It's over. The Red Sox are winning the World Series.

Chris--if the DH is so bad, then MLB would have reversed it. The bottom line is this--it was a great idea. Pitchers aren't there to hit. They can't. It's stupid to force a team to put a guy who can't even hit .200 in the lineup.
You're right--protecting the pitchers isn't the reason behind it, though I never said that. But it's long past time the NL adopted it. Having hitters in the lineup that can't hit on the MLB level is just dumb.
As for last night, I'm glad I went to bed and it was still 7-0 and didn't watch any of that. Disgusting.

I didnt 90% of it either, I just cant watch Red Sox baseball unless they are playing the Yankees. Thats why if baseball wants me back this season Tampa needs to advance. Look, I still see Tampa winning this at home on Saturday. But last night was wretched and horrible annoyance. Didnt help that I had to stay up and insure a 5 hour sleep.
Friggin' Sox.
As to you guys watching this in a bar - Hell, after the game, I wanted to go TO a bar!

Yeah, but you always want to go to a bar.
I actually didn't find out until I got to work, clicked on the Post's website, and was like "holy crap." The good part is that the Rays are going home so they don't have to deal with the Fenway crowd again. Could help a bit.

At this point, I wouldn't be shocked to see the chowdah scum not lose another game.

What a disgusting display that was last night. If the Tampa Rays franchise never wins another baseball game, and get contracted, they deserve it.
Sickening

The same things could have been said about the 2004 New York Yankees. Well, not the contraction part, but fans in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I was thinking exactly this as I read his posts. We are not clean of stench here.
Again, I think Tampa finishes this off Saturday night. Lets not pillage the Earth here.

I hope so.
The Rays don't seem like a team that lays down, but man, what a momentum swing.

Once Knoblauch sent a message about the Sox losing when it was 7-0, it was over.

Knoblauch's an ass, and his act is getting old. When games are going on, he needs to keep his phone aside and his mouth shut.

It's unbelievable. Granted, a lot of people were making similar comments and taking pleasure, but we all know it was Knoblauch.

Thank the Lord.
I needed the Sox gone. Now I can sit back and enjoy the World Series, and not sweat over the outcome.
Im partial to the Rays, out of league respect. But if we're smart, we root for the Phillies, cause the Rays are going to become quite the pain in the ass going forth. They have been kicking our ass for years, but to no consequence in regards to rivalry.
David Price is fucking awesome.

Thank Christ.
Wow, what a series.
LOL @ the Rays prez looking like Domi.
LOLOLOL @ the gay song the Rays were playing. 'Feel!.....The Heat!......Rays!' LOLOLOL!
The only thing I hope now is that the layoff isn't going to cool down the Phils. I think if the Phils haven't gone cold this is going to be a fantastic World Series.

I think we pretty much all feel the same way. The Sox didn't win the division, they didn't win the league, and the talk of a Boston dynasty is over. It wouldn't have been a dynasty anyway, but at least we don't have to hear that shit.
Now we can simply not give a shit at who wins. I'm pulling for Tampa though, since I like the idea of Philly still not winning any championship.
I don't expect a sweep. Expect the WS to go at least 6, just so we can suffer the indignity of seeing Barrack Obama's lame as infomercial disrupt the start of the 6th game.

While the Dynasty talk is shelved for now they will be more than formidable as the years go by. They are more than stacked with pitching. We'll be looking up at the Sox and Rays for a while, unfortunately for us. If the moves we make don't pan out we may even fall to 4th. Baltimore's been on a rebuild for a few years, and they are a few steps away.
As for the World Series, I'm thinking the Rays don't make it easy for themselves again and squeeze out a title in 7.

I wouldn't write the Yankees off so fast, but I agree that the division is extremely strong. But given the massive injuries the Yanks had with their lineup, they still managed to win 89 games. The 2002 Angels had a sick playoff run. But in 2003, they came back with virtually the same team and sucked.
If the Yanks make some decent moves, and fix their offense, and of course guys like Cano and Posada return to form, they'll be a tougher team as well.
But I agree Boston is going to be tough for a long time as well.

As much as I am glad the Sox are gone...the fact that they came back to force a Game 7 sickens me....really sickens me.
I mean, fuck these guys....can't anyone put these dickheads away, emphatically.
The last team that just buried them was the White Sox....which was spearheaded by El Duque's magic act getting out of a bases loaded, no out situation.

Why haven't we had any posts in here in a week?
Anyone else watching?
Who stayed for the end last night. It was a Saturday night, so unless you had plans to be somewhere else, no excuse.
Fun way to win the game, with nothing getting out of the infield. Go Phils!
